There’s a regular blizzard and a ‘death’ blizzard. You won’t survive that one unless you actually stand on the fire. With that in mind, not sure how to move around the map. Yeah, the dog killed me a few times but I ate it a few times as well:)
I’d put the igloo near the rock face and have the entrance facing the rock face to help keep heat in and also helps stop animals finding the entrance. It would be more shelter from blizzards.
You can skip the igloo and make a mallet and build a house, you make a house out of ice then upgrade it to wood then upgrade it to something else after that.
18:31 - When you were trying to figure out HOW to repair the Axe, but couldn't find it, my thought was to build the Workbench and see if it can be repaired in the Workbench...
This game is ridiculous! Withing the first 30mins I had 2 Yeti Kings come for me, followed shortly after by 6 wolves and 2 Polar bear Kings. What the hell am I supposed to do about that?
Kage: “almost there… almost there” was Anakin from Star Wars The Phantom Menace!! He was racing in his freshly repaired Pod. Great job! I consider it to be a legacy comment/movie line. It was also used in another one of the original three movies. I don’t remember which one though!
Judging a game based on if it's free is like judging a game that's in early access. For example once human is a decent survival free survival game you might potentially enjoy
Looks like The Long Dark might be a step down mate. I played it for a long time and there is no crafting for normal stuff in a crafting game... Granted The Long Dark would be so much more enjoyable if you could craft stuff.
One correction. The "Almost there..." line *is* from star wars, but it had *noting* to do with Anakin. It was uttered, twice, by Red Leader (a.k.a. Red 1), during the Battle of Yavin, in star wars: episode 4: A New Hope. It was just as he was nearing the target point, the exhaust port of the first Deathstar's trench. Then he shoots (just a bit late), misses, and then gets shot down by Darth Vader. I am *very* disappointed in you, young man, for killing that dog *and* being caviler about it! *First,* you were all "I don't wanna' kill the dog.," and *then* you became "I don't mind as much now." What do I want from you?! It's called Run Away! Then feed it meat, when you can, to tame it. Aw, Dude! Same, shame, and...Shame! 😠 ... Go to your room! Assault rifles and grenades? Okay, yes, they are cool, but they're not at all plausible for an Arctic (or Antarctic, as the case may be) survival game. They should've left it at primitive archery. I mean, imagine how we all would've face-palmed and shaken our heads if those things were craftable in Project Castaway!
Kage, not trolling, but your content is kinda frustrating to watch So, a respectful suggestion - Definitely it’s your channel, you do you, but perhaps consider either featuring fewer games overall so you can focus on actually fleshing out a playthrough, or instead making most videos a one-off about a single game instead of a series (kinda like what Fooster does). You choose really great games, & your presentation/style is very entertaining & accessible, but it can be super frustrating, & here’s why: You feature a lot of different games on your channel. Like, *a lot* And you present many (almost all? All?) of them as series, ya know, “day 1,” or “episode 1,” which gets me (probably most folks) invested in a playthrough. And then, sometimes days & days will pass without new episodes in a particular series while you’re putting out new episodes of a different game, or that series just gets dropped, or perhaps you choose to eventually end early or whatever, And many times even within a current series you’ll forget where something is or what key to use for an action, or how to do a very basic game mechanic, and you’ve said it’s because you play so many games, So, from a viewer’s perspective, it’s like, “Wow, this game looks fun, but watching Kage fumble the ball is kinda not fun…and also I really like (insert game title), & I look forward to the next episode, but Kage is putting out episodes of 3 different series first, ok, now 4, ok I guess he dropped this game? Maybe I’ll just stop checking his channel for a new episode cuz who knows if/when, & also, it’s not fun to watch someone forget how to (insert basic mechanic here).” If you’re looking for just casual audience interaction, interest & retention, & that’s why your approach is more casual than invested, then cool. Keep on keeping on, but it’s kinda hard to remain interested in a producer’s work if they don’t seem all that interested in it themselves. Again, not trolling, I wouldn’t have taken the time for a long comment if I were just flaming.
I like his videos but that's what I was just thinking. I wish he would go back to other games and play longer and make more videos of them. but it seems like he does one or two episodes and then never goes back to them.
@ yah totally. Nothing personal against the guy, that would be silly, but there’s just a ton of content creators featuring & doing series on survival games, so lots to choose from, and if it’s kinda disappointing or frustrating to watch one, I’ll just find someone else…and likely not come back to the frustrating one. If Kage does see this thread, I hope he takes this as audience participation & (hopefully) helpful feedback. Again, nothing against the dude.
@@methodsocratic So you guys want me to contine (insert series here) but what am I supposed to do when that that series is not being watched as much? If a series gets less views than another why would I contine with that series? If I'm trying to make the maxiumum people happy possible then I need to go with the series that most people want to see, hence the most views.
@ hey duder. Yah man, I get it, I do actually, the grind for views, I spent about a decade designing social media campaigns for gov & private sector when all this shit was new (& it made me go ewwww & thus not doing that anymore lol). I get that you’ve got data we don’t see driving your creation choices, I get that you’re in the driver’s seat & we’re not, & I get that it’s really easy to Monday-quarterback, not so easy to be the actual dude with the ball (ok I’m done with driving & sportsball metaphors). All I can suggest is that views & interaction are affected by a lotta factors. I can only use myself as a data set of one in this case, but I stopped viewing new content of yours, whether it’s a series I already started or a new series of a new game, because of those “frustrating” factors I listed in my OP. So, can you see my point? In my case (& maybe for other subs of yours as well?), the “throwing more stuff at the wall & seeing what sticks” strategy is the very thing losing my views (& again, maybe other people’s views too?). So, can you see how it might not be that lack of interest in a game or series itself is causing views to drop or never be high, but instead it could be your overall channel format/strategy? At the end of the day, you’re the one with the actual data duder, not me, & you’re the one making the calls on how to run your channel, & I respect all that. My whole goal was to provide feedback. One guy’s feedback means very little, & if you don’t see a lotta comments from other viewers kinda also expressing the same frustrations, then it’s probably not an issue you should consider; but if my one voice is part of a larger crowd of voices saying, like, “Hey, frustrated viewer here, because of (insert thing),” then maybe that *is* useful data. And yah. I get that social media audiences can also be dumb & reactionary as f, lol me included in that I guess, so how do ya know what to listen to & what is just a buncha trolls/morons/6 year olds? Welp buddy. That’s part of the ewwww which is why I no longer do what you do. All this is meant in the best way. I’d like to see you succeed & so this is me doing that rare thing of trying to be nice “on the internet.” Gonna head back to COD now to be toxic. That’s a joke.
That is so not what an igloo looks like. The are more like beaver dens. You crawl down then up to get in. And you can't have a fire inside, just a small soapstone lamp that burns fat. Also you can make "windows" out of ice so it's not pitch black during the day.

You can skip the igloo and make a mallet and build a house, you make a house out of ice then upgrade it to wood then upgrade it to something else after that.
Use the charcoal that the campfire produces to feed the furnace. Charcoal burns much more efficiently than wood in the furnace.

found it funny when you say that you hope trees regrow. how many trees have you seen grow at winter time?
That poor husky 😂 to tame the husky you need to feed it 30 cooked meat.
16:11 needing water for an ice maker is not that weird considering ice is 100% water
MATE this actually looks pretty sick it snuck under my radar 😁👍
This game is ridiculous! Withing the first 30mins I had 2 Yeti Kings come for me, followed shortly after by 6 wolves and 2 Polar bear Kings. What the hell am I supposed to do about that?
The game is using the same engine as beached, a now dead pirate skeleton survival game you played a couple of years ago, just set to ice.
Almost there. Is from STAR WARS it was from the death star run.
yep, red leader iirc
Stay on target! 😂
Kage: “almost there… almost there” was Anakin from Star Wars The Phantom Menace!! He was racing in his freshly repaired Pod. Great job! I consider it to be a legacy comment/movie line. It was also used in another one of the original three movies. I don’t remember which one though!
Actually it's from Star Wars. The original. Having Anakin say it was just a reference back to the OG
@@gretchen8100 yes, I believe it was from Gold leader, Y-wing pilot, during the first trench run.
You can sleep through the night, at the correct time. Don't be too close to bed or sleep doesn't show up
What happened to if sun sets? I'm always looking forward to the next video of that?
I'm downloading the game right now. Good thing I know to chop a lot of trees 1st.
you killed the doggie, there was meat to feed it to tame it probably
resources spawn back, trader buys and sells use stone to make money for meat. Tame dog 30 cooked meat in hot bar and selected
Judging a game based on if it's free is like judging a game that's in early access. For example once human is a decent survival free survival game you might potentially enjoy
I know. You're right
Looks like a snow version of Eden Island
can you use gaming controller with the game?
You can buy food from the trader.
Bellwright for mud
throw fishing rod in the water? lol
Where was the BIG red "" save game " button?
8 C outside and snow? and 35 C in the iglo? makes sence....
28:48 Ok that's flat ridiculous! This game has potential, but it needs some pretty serious rebalancing
probably going to be a safe bet and say that nothing is going to respawn
Thats the trader house
There are XP points also
how many players can join in multiplayer?
Kage, why don't you try out The Long Dark?
Looks like The Long Dark might be a step down mate. I played it for a long time and there is no crafting for normal stuff in a crafting game... Granted The Long Dark would be so much more enjoyable if you could craft stuff.
Looks good
Very good game and it's free?!?😊
This screams asset flip.
It's not looking to interesting for me, too many things to make and to much cutting down trees that take too long makes Mark an unhappy igloo camper
My god does the chopping / cutting suck! I ate almost a whole tuna sandwich before you finished a rock or tree lol
You said you would "start the game as a man" implying you would change later? Definitely gonna watch now 😅
Where is part 2 it goes straight from 1 to part 3 part 2 is missing??
Never mind I'm f'n blind
This looks like a great game almost there is from Caddyshack2 Dan Aykroyd
