T2 had some seriously kickass special effects that still hold up over 20 years later. When I saw this movie in the theater in 1991, the visuals were nothing like I'd ever seen before. The metal puddling and reforming was crazy.
This was a marriage of the perfect song for the perfect movie scene. Hubby and I saw this movie in the theater when it opened in our town. The audience was packed and as soon as you heard the 1st chord of the guitar, the audience burst into the craziest, loudest, applauds, whistles and cheers I had ever heard. I was clapping and cheering right along with all of them. Everyone was excited. Memory I will never forget. Great times back then. Things that happen only once in life.

Also, Hollywood seems to have real financial problems. Watch Jurassic World's trailer, and then Jurassic Park (the first one). 20 years later, do you see any quality difference on the cgi takes? I noticed none. So maybe cgi is not what we should fill movies with. It just can't get any better. They made them bigger, ie large crowds, amazing cgi characters (ninja turtles), large worlds, but they are not better. Also, I am very tired of comic hero movies, and I have seen very few of them. Where are movies like "Forrest Gump" today?? Nobody makes them. All we are left with is reruns and reboots like star wars 7, jurassic world, T5 which are made with that new, chaotic recipe films are made today...

I clean my bathroom really thorougly in the weekends, and last weekend I turned on a random youtube playlist then started with cleaning the walls and after a while I put on my plastic cleaning gloves, went on my knees to clean the tiles on the floor and this song popped on. Never felt so bad-ass cleaning a bathroom floor in my entire life.
I think Terminator 3 deserves some credit too. I know it's no where near as good as the first 2, but it still holds its own in many ways. That big chase seen was jaw dropping and the ending was surprisingly dark despite it's constant light hearted humour that gets constantly forced in your face. It could of been a hell of a lot worse, like Salvation bad.
