Well it looks like you got the hang of it. Those are good eating. One thing about salt water, it will eat up the the pins that hook up to the display from the transducer. That is a really nice unit.

Very cool. I have the older generation Panoptix. From a kayak perspective- I have heard the setup requires a lot of amperage. Do you happen to know how much amperage the box and the ducer adds on top of the head unit?
Panoptix is one of the big reasons why I switched to a Hobie Compass duo. I was planning on getting the Outback. Using the front mirage location for the ducer.
IT says a max of 54 watts for the Livescope, which converts out to about 4.5 amps. Now that is just a max number, don't know what the average draw is. Head unit draws roughly 2 amps so I'd saw 6 at the most total. I have 4 Nocqua 10 ah batteries currently wired up, which gives me 40 amp hrs. So at max draw it should last just short of 7 hrs. But I do have the Livescope wired on a switch so I can turn it off when I'm not using it to save battery. I have gone 12 hrs on the water with the setup I have so far. Intermittent use of the Livescope

Pretty cool technology. At some point we will reach a level that it takes enough of the challenge of fishing away that I likely would not enjoy it. Great for when I am just fishing for food, which is maybe 25% of the time, but when I am just out for sport this might be a bit much. We will see.
When im crappie fishing i am vertical jigging (tightlining) 95% of the time so i like using my traditional sonar to stay on top of the school or brushpile. I am jealous of you tho.
I tried trolling and had no luck, tried float setups and no luck. Also tried jiggin and still no luck...lol I had to cheat to be able to catch them sadly
PA 12 is heavier but has more stability and room. The Outback it light but a little cramped for larger people. No perfect solution really depends on you

Very true, I use dielectric grease on all the fittings and connections. That should at least slow it down

1500 for the Livescope, and the cheapest Chartplotter that works with it is the Echomap 74 SV Plus. Which is what I have. Got it all from Amazon
