Thanks for the video. Im just wondering are you using the soap to felt a fleece, or just to wash it.

Soap is for easier - smoother- felting. Cleaning is an extra advantage. Cleaning is not the aim (in the beginning)

Mariagiovanna Risi Thank you for your reaction and question. Change the colour after you made the shawl. Try first a piece of wool before you paint all. Find instructions on the internet.

Thank you so much for this video! Have you used roving instead of prefect? Laying it out with two layers? What are the benefits of the prefect?

Can you tell what you mean by roving and the prefect? My English is poor.

prefelt is the piece you used to felt the fleece on. It has been felted a little. Roving is the wool that has been, cleaned, carded and rolled in a ball to sell. I would use Merino wool tufts laid out in the position you used in the video. I would use two layers. I can send you a photo.

I used needle felt. (= prefect?) as a under layer. On top unwashed curls of sheep wool (the dirt is still in the wool and is washed out later). On my website you find a way to contact me www.metageerts.nl and you can send a photo. Thank you.

You called it needle felt. the grey felt.
we call it prefect because it isn't felted all the way.
I hope this clarifies it Meta. Thank you for working with me and helping me.

Please tell me what you mean by roving and prefect. My English is not good enough. I do not get your question. Use www.metageerts.nl to send your question.

Prefect is a typo, meaning; prefelt, voorgevilt vlies.
