I remember the two buses spoken of tho' there were quickly five, as I recall, by the time I got around to stopping there. T'was very vibrant/active back then & this, nice as it is, seems a bit like gatekeepers to a mausoleum by comparison. Great of course to see that it's still there at all...the camp was under constant threat of eviction in those days. I'd love still to go visit for a wee while...but I have difficulty chopping onions these days, so sadly nothing tangible to offer & from what I remember of the weather over my seven years in the area it's definitely not for a 70yr old cripple bar a very few days in any one year! @@raymondhewitt I remember when we were working at faslane a few years ago, and talking to some the folk that lived at the peace camp, kind of New age travellers, and the wee sign ootside one of the lassies buses or whatever it was, saying pop in for a cuppa, I'd probably had never got back out , I'd have been eaten alive, she was like an Amazon , and the fire smoking away in the drizzling rain with the big black kettle haha, I told them that I was up here demonstrating at faslane for CND ,a long before they were there, during my time in shandon house, which is a stones throw from the camp haha, it might have been tough then, but looking back now at nearly 63, it was an experience in discipline, respect, going places, and doing things we would never have experienced back home in the early, mid 70s, where growing up in rundown areas consisted of dogging school ,petty crime, glue sniffing etc, so being in approved school for a year or two took us away from the reality of what was happening back in streets haha, changed days mate, you should try and get inside shandon just up the back of the peace camp, if it's still there that is.
You should have went in for that tea! I’ll try do that… you’re the same age as my old man he was shipped out to Dr.Guthrie’s from easterhouse as a young yin
@@raymondhewitt I was married,or I would have been in there, and probably ended up growing the dreadlocks haha, aye the approved regime in those days didn't half open you're eyes, and you're dad like myself would have been in a stricter regime than in the army , haha, and probably varnished the toes of the working boots we wore, instead of spending hours in the boot room bulling them with spit and polish, but if you got caught doing anything it was the school belt on your arse while big Dan the deputy house master held you're hands bent over the table, while the hoose master rattled you're arse with the belt, thankfully I didn't get it, but my younger brother did for running away or,as they called it, absconding, but it taught us one thing, don't get fkn caught, haha, just a another bit of excitement growing up in the 70s, haha, you're dad'll relate to some of the stuff, .
I know plenty of boys that work in Faslane.
Tell them to go in have a cup of tea with their new pals 😂
@@raymondhewitt one of them works for AWE, so probably not welcome
Antifa Leon lad in full combat attire 😆🙈. An otherwise well mannered decent chap, shame he's mixed up in such a silly ideology
the government drive people to this
How so?
@@raymondhewitt A fraudulent system all based on lies ... most of the people in camps are awake and can see it.
These guys wont amount to anything like that
Probably not the life I’d choose but who am I to judge
I should move there. I'm against nukes and I'm loco. Sorry. Local.
They aren't the most active bunch. In two decades They've done two protests that were very lackluster lol. Really its just a doss pot. For the most part I've seen mainly punks squating. There was a hippy lassie there for a while who spruced the place up and tried to get visitors in etc, They would do coffe days and let you explore and see the garden and what not. They had done a good job with it to be fair. But its back to being a hobo spot again. It's literaly a dump now. It's actually a shame to see it in the state its in now. .
Maybe they need a woman’s touch again?
Got a French bulldog lol 2 or 3 grand dog..in a homeless camp :/ could of bought rent lool
The one thing missing is a bar of soap. I don’t know why they’re talking about hot water as they don’t use water. Minging.
You been there?
You spoken to or sniffed these people?
Or you have smellyvision on yer TH-cam?
Easy to say things with no basis whatsoever eh
@@Ratskank I have actually spoken to plenty of them outside the gates of faslane when I’ve been there numerous times. When they’ve been on their protests. Their flags were cleaners. Any I can spoke to were stinking. 1 In particular sticks in mind with hair like bob Marley(white skinny guy) his hair was crawling. Practice what you preach when saying things with no basis whatsoever. Tool.
@@Hello-hellowearethebillyboys
It’s cool they trained their flags to be cleaners, that’s not something that I have ever seen.
But Do know a few people that have lived there long term, and they were not as you described, at all.
I have also lived on sites and know that sometimes it’s not as easy as living in a house to get the basic essentials.
Yet there’s plenty of people living in houses that are way dirtier than anyone that I have met on sites.
Not sure why you’re repping an awesome band at the end of your rant. But they are great.

@@Ratskank if you lived like that then you have the perfect name.

Lord...that's kinda spooked me a bit! I lived in Cove, around the peninsula from here in '82 & I'd regularly drop in when going back & forth to Helensburgh/Glasgow...two share a cuppa, a few fags & pick up a bit of shopping let's say.
Peace
I’m sure you could go up for the day in summer and pay a visit! Hope you enjoyed the video - if you did if you could subscribe to the channel it really helps me out 👍🏼
