Thank you very much for the very informative tutorial! When we were upgrading from 4.1 to 4.2 I exported and imported the old CMS and Auditing database in the new environment. And I was never sure if this is something that we need to do when upgrading to new BO version. For the upgrade to 4.3 do we need again to export the CMS/Auditing database on that BO 4.2 was running or it is enough to simply setup clean BO 4.3 installation and then use the PMW? Thank you.
Hi there You don't need (and you didn't before!) need to copy any databases. I assume here you are talking about a side-by-side upgrade. If that's the case, you need to: 1. Install and Configure the new BI 4.3 environment. Make sure it works as you expect 2. Use the PMW to "move" your content from BI 4.2 to BI 4.3 3. Test a lot! Make sure to use 360Suite for that ;) Did you know we have a freemium to get started?

Hi Patrick, I get time out error when I running Promotion Management Wizard for migrating live BI 4.3 SP1 on AIX to BI 4.3 SP1 on Windows 20. Error show: "Scenario failed: Promote (Live CMS to Live CMS)! CMS operation timed out after 9 minutes." Could you please let me know the fix of this error. It's happened when I start migration.

One of catchup feature is CSV and TXT as an Datasource. Does this functionality exist in BOBJ 4.1? For files I see only excel in Webi client however in Webi rich client this feature is available

Does we can migrate 4.2 on Windows to 4.3 on Unix,Any issue if we change OS while migrating

The Datasource "Text" has been added in SAP BI 4.2 SP06
