@@BustedKnuckleVideo what lift do you have on that truck and what size tires. Looking to do same thing with mine. Not too big just looks good set up like that.

The fruits of your hard work and this video are paying off. Well, at least for me. Just got myself a 7.3 and I’ve never touched a diesel before in my life. This is and will be very helpful to an avg joe like myself. Thank you.
Same here I have a early 99. Plumber by trade but now a 7.3 Novice Mechanic! Love my Truck and its been a learning experience fixing all the oil leaks from Turbo/Pedestal, Hpop, Dip stick, HP hoses. Fuel bowl rebuild you name it and this truck has had me busy.lol Never parting ways with this Truck!
Just a tip for anyone changing the injectors, after you pull the glow plugs and get the oil out of the cylinders, hook up the batteries and leave the main engine harness disconnected. With the key crank the motor over 3 times for 15 seconds. Then replace your glow plugs and put it all back together and the truck should crank up within 15 seconds of cranking (1st try). Doing this method allows to engine to spin over very fast with no resistance, this helps you not wear down your batteries so fast and build oil pressure.
Lol, wait, did you mean RUIN? That's called hydro-locking -- you have fluid trapped within the combustion chamber and force the engine to turn over, the pressure has to go somewhere. Too much fluid and too much cranking power can be mayhem on your con-rods..

Definitely a good tip. I was concerned with the way we were told to evacuate the cylinders but it seemed to work. A little bit of white smoke at startup but that was it.
Just a tip, but pulling out the 2 allen head plugs in the high pressure oil rail BEFORE removing the injectors will result in a lot less oil dropping into the cylinders. I noticed you guys didn't mention that step, but it's a good one to avoid a possible hydro lock, and actually eliminates the requirement to remove the glow plugs if you also drain the fuel bowl before starting the job.
Hey great video! I replaced my pcm box and didn't think I needed the old box so I threw it away not realizing I needed it for programming the new one and my truck won't stay running but it'll start. what do I do??
Really if it's a "tow rig" you should go with a dully, you will always be limited with that single rear wheel as to how much you can tow and well the ride is much better without nearly as much sway leaving you able to actually use that extra pony power to pud on a bit faster.
They do have some good points, the SRW I mean, easier to park and not as wide in the lanes/parking spots. Tire changes are less to boot. With what all I wind up towing the SRW isn't for me. Take it easy!
They also suck on rutted roads (snow or dirt), and cost more for tires. If you have to haul that heavy, I get it and I love the way they look but not everyone needs one. Also the gear ratios are so damn high especially with these old 4 speeds.
I run mine on 50 hp or 75hp best fuel mileage I've lifted my truck 3 inch by taking the single over load leaf from the back putting it on front using the block that separates the leafs from the overload. I had to buy 1 longer U bolt for the driver side.
to avoid excessive cranking on first start, i fill fuel filter crank for 5-10 seconds repeat on 3rd or 4th it starts right up. I figured this out working on a boat (48') and did that from then on with my 6.9 and later 7.3 and its always worked very well. Always worried about cost of starters, this procedure is like a Xanax, no more starter worries...PS I use a quart lower unit lube filler or quart 90# with squirt tube screwed on to refill filter.
I just did this exact thing to my truck Last week. Full Force Diesel is awesome. Those guys are very helpful and patient. I went with the Stage 1 injectors for my 7.3 and am very happy with it.Great video bro.
I just did the 6.0 cooler swap, went with the dorman unit off Amazon for $167 shipped. It dropped my TFT about 60 degrees towing. From GA to Windrock never got above 140 degrees. Awesome upgrade. Loved the video too.
Matthew Graham i put a derale deep pan on mine. Will get the 6.0 cooler and an additional smaller cooler for that extra protection. Have any of you guys heard of monster transmission? Im looking at their rebuild kit
a good tip nobody ever points out is you need to take the injector at the front out first then the others will come out easy you will never get the others out of the first is still in other than that great video and nice truck I miss my old 7.3
I caught that too but still seeing a 7.3 doing a burnout was impressive lol. I have several of them and they are so reliable I don’t care if I can’t keep up with the faster trucks I’m just trying to get to the retirement finish line.
I love how you said cmon international. Ford was the reason the 7.3 was that powerful. International 7.3 farm applications were pushing one 350. Ford didn't want to build a truck that could take the power. 7.3 owner btw
I know its a 4 year old video but thats a pretty impressive hp gain for little work. When I bought my last truck I was really wanting the 7.3 but around me they are too overpriced. So I went with the 6.8 v10 in my f250. Kinda wish I heald out for the diesel but I've had nothing but good things to say about my v10....well other than fuel mileage while towing but who cares. I daily drive my f250 and if I was worried about fuel economy I'd have a prius........not really but yall understand.
I'm new to diesels so I'm no expert but I know with gas engines your worst enemy is FM in the motor. I think you really ought to clean the engine bay before opening up the valve train and potentially knocking tiny bits of dirt all over your heads.
Might want to spend some money into normal maintenance before your throwing in performance injectors. You got bad pulleys somewhere on the front side, missing a handle by your steering wheel.....Truck engine bay could use a cleaning as well. Nice video.
When I do anything fuel related on a diesel, I prime the lines by cycling the ignition 5-10 times full cycle before starting, usually eliminates most of the cranking unless you have some air intrusion
Great vid mate!. Well planned and executed. Seems easy enough to follow (majorly helpful for a dumb arse like myself!) I've just brought my first F250 7.3 sight unseen from auction. Flying up to Far North Queensland (Australia) to pick it up next week... fingers crossed it is a problem free trip home for my first 2000kms run!. I'll sub, think im going to need more of your vids!
It was a good video though he didn't include telling you to crank it with GPs out to get the oil out of the cylinders which can cause a hydro lock, good way to ruin a engine.
Busted Knuckle Films I bet, 100hp increase would be fantastic. I’m probably going to do the exact same thing you did except with a php hydra in the future. So I’ll be back watching again one day lmao
There also is a plug to drain the oil rail under valve cover and plug to drain fuel on the back of head so you dont get all of that in the cylinders so there isn't a chance of hydro locking
Thanks for the video. It's very informative. At 11:10, why do you have to put the valve cover back on if all you'll be doing is turning the motor by hand? The oil won't squirt out that rapidly when turning the motor by hand, right?
I did some baby swamps 150cc injectors on my old 97 7.3 with 325k miles on it with a TS Performance 6 position chip with a wicked wheel 2 intake wheel and changed the downpipe to a true 4" inch downpipe. Talk about a wake up call from stock lol. I used a syringe with a long hose and just sucked all of the fluids out of each cylinder and i noticed you never mentioned that you need to follow the cylinder number specified for each injector according to your programmed chip.
When I got my injectors sent to me they were labeled with the cylinder they were supposed to go into I just assumed they were all that way. I clearly may be wrong. I now have another 97 f250 with a snow plow so I get to start playing and modifying all over again.
I'm not much of a mechanic, so i have a questions. I'm all about increasing power on the 7.3 I just bought, but my biggest priority is longevity of the engine. A lot of power upgrades just put more stress on the engine and part of the reason the 7.3's last so long is that they are pretty under-stressed machines. Will putting new injectors in add much more stress to the engine?
In the description they say that they replaced the head gasket... Do they mean the valve cover gasket??? Pretty sure no head gasket was done in this video... Great info and video guys!
i just bought a 99 7.3 powerstroke. the previous owner said it had aftermarket injectors and it has a holset turbo on it with a ts chip. truck does nothing but blow smoke out the back. i really need a custom tune
I have a 2002 F-250 and also a 2000 F-250 and I was curious if both of my trucks would use those same injectors? Also what’s the ball park figure for each set of those 1.5’s? Thanks for the video it was very informative. I also have the stock transmissions and have no plans of upgrading them. I would be interested in knowing what u think is a better replacement for my turbo wheels? Some just sound better and some seem to actually give better performance.
Hey man thanks for the quick reply and info. I’ll check them out and let u know how it goes. Now when I do get those new injectors and that wicked wheel, do I have to get after market gauges? I’m not trying to race my truck or anything like that, I have a landscaping, lawn care and tree business here in Florida and they pull trailers every single day 5-6 days a week. Both truck are nearing the 400K mark and should be getting these updated parts anyways as u suggested. Thanks again.
BustedKnuckleVideo so not even new injectors or the wicked wheel? I thought those were just stock upgrades. If not, I’ll do what ur saying cause I do not want to mess anything up. I’m not interested in racing, just pulling a trailer with mowers on it everyday with a little boost cause the truck is dated obviously. Thanks again.
If you are pulling trailers I would recommend gauges first. They are not that expensive and you can do it yourself. Then WW2, injectors, and a tune then it will be a different truck for sure. Is your exhaust stock?
I just heard about the upper radiator hose to run through the groove and it is about time for a water pump, we just replaced the radiator and installed a bigger trans cooler
Doing in frame injectors on an OBS isn't terrible but its not fun either. Especially those bolts under the vacuum reservoir and near the firewall. We did the Single shot 180CC stage 1s. Lots of smoke before the D66 spools up..
Great video thanks. 275 hp for the Six speed manual transmission trucks. Your a beast truck owner. Should have pulled the glow plugs first thing for a little look for possible clinder health. Otherwise awesome sauce video.
i know this is a old video but a friend of mine sent me this video and asked if he followed this would he be ok. As a former ford tech and still currently a diesel mechanic for a fleet, the only thing i have to say is dont just turn over the crank by hand. Everything else seems good, but if you only turn over by hand because of the pistons shape bowl design you have not evacuated the cylinders completely of fuel/oil and due to the high compression have a likely hood of detonation which could cause rod bending or piston/ring damage. the preferred method would be a vac pump thought the glow plug holes to suck out all fluids out of each cylinder. or at least like i recommended to my friend leave the glow plugs out. put the valve covers back on loosely, unplug your valve cover harnesses on both banks so the injectors will not have power and the engine will not start. crank the truck it will free spin faster then normal because no cylinders have compression but will blow the majority of fluid out of the piston bowls and eliminate any possible hydro lock conditions that could be present if you didn't. Sry dont mean to preach but just a PSA for anyone doing this in the future dont want to see an otherwise good engine ruined because steps where missed.
just to explain better when you pull a injector out all the fuel and oil from the HEUI system trapped in the heads goes down into that cylinder. say your only changing one injector because of a coil issue/maintenance if its number 1 or 2 not as much of a concern because the rake of the engine, but say you are only pulling number 7 or 8 at the back of the engine. all the oil and fuel from that cylinder head has just gone down into and filled that single cylinder and even if you crank over by hand the entire bowl of the piston and chamber volume are still filled with fuel/oil and is a bent rod, or piston/ring damage waiting to happen if you only turned over by hand.
Thats a neat change of pace from the buggies! Lookin good, that Ford set up looks way simpler than the Chevy of the era. Those suckers were a real pain to get to.
I have a 2001 excursion and getting ready to upgrade lots of parts, including injectors. Did you ever try the economy dial to see what mpg's you could get if you remember?
Great vid. I just bought my first 7.3 2002. I did my first tow few days ago ,18,500 lb triple axle fith wheel camper. I was completely amazed how well truck did. Low egts ect. I thing a set of these injectors will help. Not sure of pricing but I'll check the company out and one day be able to do it. Thanks a bunch.
Your video is so help full I’m down to do it my self, I got a 1999 ford f450 with 7.3 and 220xxx miles, dully I have another question, if my alternator dies, would it kill my engine while running? Cuz that’s what happened!
Huge injector's on the Engine, and it's definitely not cheap for that upgrade, man damn diesel's aren't cheap! In anyway shape or form? Thank's for your video's, this one will definitely give someone the knowledge to maybe do this to there truck, And with a little incite on how too do it! And my Ecoboost will do a good burn out, hole shot! But I'm not sure about doing it with 35's on it! No more good mileage!
Question- Should you set the overhead since you already have the valve cover off? Ive done them on my big diesel CAT motor....Is that a pushrod Motor? If so no Lash adjustments-
@@BustedKnuckleVideo 6.0 injectors can take a tune for 100hp more, no need to change them. But they do fail more often than 7.3 injectors. 6.0s come with Big Air from the factory, good for 500hp with stock air filter. Big Fuel, Hutch mod, exhaust, delete, stud, and a tune, and you're good. If you lift the cab to stud (recommended) do the cab bushings. 5r110 is solid, only ever seen three fail afair. Tip, the 6.0 tranny cooler fits on a 7.3 truck and cools better.
RenoHuskerDu I see. I have an OBS, thus the E4OD. I’ve heard some bad things about them but mine is rebuilt with a few upgrades. I drive really easy on my vehicles as well. Is it still a bad trans?
first of all...i should thank you for your amazing video. i am not overly mechanical, but i think i may try doing what you did to your 7.3 with new injectors. I saw a video on 7.3 and how the SCT can improve torque at lower rpm. any advice is appreciated.
Glad to help. I had no idea what I was doing but learned during the making of this video. It's not as difficult as people make it out to be. If you do injectors I would just get custom tunes for them from Full Force to match your TS chip.

Just a tip, but pulling out the 2 allen head plugs in the high pressure oil rail BEFORE removing the injectors will result in a lot less oil dropping into the cylinders. I noticed you guys didn't mention that step, but it's a good one to avoid a possible hydro lock, and actually eliminates the requirement to remove the glow plugs if you also drain the fuel bowl before starting the job.
good tip!
I'll stick with my single rear wheel truck, we arent doing much heavy hauling
They do have some good points, the SRW I mean, easier to park and not as wide in the lanes/parking spots. Tire changes are less to boot.
With what all I wind up towing the SRW isn't for me.
Take it easy!
They also suck on rutted roads (snow or dirt), and cost more for tires. If you have to haul that heavy, I get it and I love the way they look but not everyone needs one. Also the gear ratios are so damn high especially with these old 4 speeds.
JUST GAVE ME THE CONFIEDENCE TO DO IT MYSELF THANKS BROSKY
Good Luck!
I have 02 f-350 dually flat bed 390 hp tune you can't beat ol 7.3 :)
Heck yeah!
Power and the trans is way smoother fuel miles is awesome :)
I can't wait to see what kind of mileage I can get out of it.
I run mine on 50 hp or 75hp best fuel mileage I've lifted my truck 3 inch by taking the single over load leaf from the back putting it on front using the block that separates the leafs from the overload. I had to buy 1 longer U bolt for the driver side.
Nice I just got the leveling kit from Rough Country and new leaf pack out back. They rub a little but not much.
to avoid excessive cranking on first start, i fill fuel filter crank for 5-10 seconds repeat on 3rd or 4th it starts right up.
Not a bad idea to fill fuel bowl first. Ive got an aftermarket starter so no worries there.
So if my truck does a burnout its a race truck?
yeah because that is what I said....
And you can have any woman you want
I just did this exact thing to my truck Last week. Full Force Diesel is awesome. Those guys are very helpful and patient. I went with the Stage 1 injectors for my 7.3 and am very happy with it.Great video bro.
Awesome, yeah they are awesome to deal with. Now I want to build my trans and get the better turbo.
i have pretty much the same mods . i have t500 terminator and 38r. i just killed my 4r100. time to step up to a bigger trans and tc.
Our next step is trans build and a 6.0 tranny cooler.
Thanks it is on our shortlist of mods to do next
What about a zf6 conversion
a good tip nobody ever points out is you need to take the injector at the front out first then the others will come out easy you will never get the others out of the first is still in other than that great video and nice truck I miss my old 7.3
really? I guess we did that backwards
You did a burnout in water. Very impressive! Just busting your balls, great video.
it was bleach. Trying to give you guys a good show for the video.
I caught that too but still seeing a 7.3 doing a burnout was impressive lol. I have several of them and they are so reliable I don’t care if I can’t keep up with the faster trucks I’m just trying to get to the retirement finish line.
This is a great video on changing injectors thanks for giving me hope on my 2001 f450
Glad to help
Dude you seriously made what I had thought was a dreaded job look simple. You've got a new subscriber! Can't wait to get my 7.3 more lively
Thanks for the sub! I had no idea what I was doing! LMAO
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Dude you did amazing! I'm excited now to upgrade my 7.3! Thank you!
as for burnouts........ 35's on a dually makes my trans fear for its life!
Aint Skeered! HA
I can't even turn my stock duals over even if I dump the clutch in low. Probably just too heavy with the steel flatbed
I did my '96 with International AC injectors, considered to be stage 1. Added TS-6 tuner and white lightning turned into TRULY WHITE LIGHTNING.
heck yeah
I love how you said cmon international. Ford was the reason the 7.3 was that powerful. International 7.3 farm applications were pushing one 350. Ford didn't want to build a truck that could take the power. 7.3 owner btw
interesting, either way they suck in stock form lol
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Sounds like the Mack my dad use to drive a few years ago. Cant really get out its own way.
Thanks, it was a good truck
I'm new to diesels so I'm no expert but I know with gas engines your worst enemy is FM in the motor. I think you really ought to clean the engine bay before opening up the valve train and potentially knocking tiny bits of dirt all over your heads.
Didn't bother this truck. Still runs like a champ.
Oi
I have FM on the radio, never heard of an engine having FM.
Never Gonnatell lol
Best vide on injectors I have seen. Just subscribed!
Thanks we appreciate it!
Might want to spend some money into normal maintenance before your throwing in performance injectors. You got bad pulleys somewhere on the front side, missing a handle by your steering wheel.....Truck engine bay could use a cleaning as well. Nice video.
Bad Pulleys? It was just a worn out tensioner, its fixed now. That handle fell off and got lost a long time ago. I need it to tow not look pretty lol.
hahahaha
When I do anything fuel related on a diesel, I prime the lines by cycling the ignition 5-10 times full cycle before starting, usually eliminates most of the cranking unless you have some air intrusion
Works on a superduty but not the OBS I have. Also a lot of the issue is priming the oil rails more than the fuel rails.
Jacob Olness do you have an IDI or 1st gen psd?
@@_milo590 i have a 97 PSD.
yep works well on these trucks
Jacob Olness should have an electrical fuel pump to charge prime
I want your truck!!! I got an 01 7.3. Love it! Wish it was like yours though! Great video thanks
Sold it a few months back
@@BustedKnuckleVideo this truck in this video is sold. You sold it ?
Great vid mate!. Well planned and executed. Seems easy enough to follow (majorly helpful for a dumb arse like myself!)
I've just brought my first F250 7.3 sight unseen from auction. Flying up to Far North Queensland (Australia) to pick it up next week... fingers crossed it is a problem free trip home for my first 2000kms run!.
I'll sub, think im going to need more of your vids!
Awesome good luck with the trip!
Did you guy do anymore work to this truck? Like a turbo?
Nope I sold it for what I paid for it and bought a 6.7
Maybe,...just possibly...the best HOW TO on the Tube.
Wow, That means A Lot to us. Thanks for watching!
It was a good video though he didn't include telling you to crank it with GPs out to get the oil out of the cylinders which can cause a hydro lock, good way to ruin a engine.
This actually seems way easier than I thought it was gonna be
it really brought the truck to life
Busted Knuckle Films I bet, 100hp increase would be fantastic. I’m probably going to do the exact same thing you did except with a php hydra in the future. So I’ll be back watching again one day lmao
awesome best of luck, these trucks are awesome
And it helps sometimes to unhook the ICP for starting request s higher oil demand and usaully starts quicker as well
not bad
There also is a plug to drain the oil rail under valve cover and plug to drain fuel on the back of head so you dont get all of that in the cylinders so there isn't a chance of hydro locking
really?
Thanks for the video. It's very informative. At 11:10, why do you have to put the valve cover back on if all you'll be doing is turning the motor by hand? The oil won't squirt out that rapidly when turning the motor by hand, right?
It still squirts out when turning by hand, we just wanted to keep it from splashing up on our hood and engine bay
I did some baby swamps 150cc injectors on my old 97 7.3 with 325k miles on it with a TS Performance 6 position chip with a wicked wheel 2 intake wheel and changed the downpipe to a true 4" inch downpipe. Talk about a wake up call from stock lol. I used a syringe with a long hose and just sucked all of the fluids out of each cylinder and i noticed you never mentioned that you need to follow the cylinder number specified for each injector according to your programmed chip.
follow the cylinder number specified for each injector?
When I got my injectors sent to me they were labeled with the cylinder they were supposed to go into I just assumed they were all that way. I clearly may be wrong. I now have another 97 f250 with a snow plow so I get to start playing and modifying all over again.
My injectors from Full Force were not labeled per cylinder.
It all depends on how you drive them. Injectors just wake up the full potential of these trucks
Now a new truck isn't $50k. They are like $80k-$100k. Crazy
yeah that is crazy
Excellent video BUT should tell us what to look for when diagnosing bad injector cups
Can't include everything
I understand otherwise excellent video helped me a lot
glad it helped, we were learning while filming lol
Thanks man really helpful video. That truck is awesome, it sounds great!
Thanks! Truck is still running strong with 320k on it
In the description they say that they replaced the head gasket... Do they mean the valve cover gasket??? Pretty sure no head gasket was done in this video... Great info and video guys!
Michael Arnold sorry yes valve cover gasket
i just bought a 99 7.3 powerstroke. the previous owner said it had aftermarket injectors and it has a holset turbo on it with a ts chip. truck does nothing but blow smoke out the back. i really need a custom tune
You will need to know what injectors and everything before you can get the right tune.
Nice i have a 01 7.3 and love it just hate that i have 16.5 wheels because finding tires that are not swampers is a pain
get new wheels
Yea unfortunately a new set will have to wait, tight budget
I agree and have been looking for a 4bt but missed a few. I need the 7.3 gone if you know anyone looking
That's a tough sell unless someone blew one up
nice job man freakin beast mode
just finished up a FRX install and more soon to come on the next episode
You can use your old pink injector orings for crank case vent orings. Fyi
Good idea
I was excited for you!
they really woke up the truck
Looks like a nightmare compared to a Cummins, but love the sound of the ol dog
It wasn't too bad
BustedKnuckleVideo right on bro
I have a 2002 F-250 and also a 2000 F-250 and I was curious if both of my trucks would use those same injectors? Also what’s the ball park figure for each set of those 1.5’s? Thanks for the video it was very informative. I also have the stock transmissions and have no plans of upgrading them. I would be interested in knowing what u think is a better replacement for my turbo wheels? Some just sound better and some seem to actually give better performance.
Wicked Wheel 2 for the turbo wheel and yes these injectors will work on both trucks, all pricing info is in the video description
I wouldn't make a single modifiication to your truck without an EGT gauge at minimum
Cool video dude, should look into the ambulance package upper radiator hose and the bus version water pump.
I just heard about the upper radiator hose to run through the groove and it is about time for a water pump, we just replaced the radiator and installed a bigger trans cooler
Looks like a fun project
Still driving it. 327k on it
Awesome vid!
Looking forward to apply what I learn from your channel to my 02 F350
heck yeah, next we tackle fuel deliver upgrades
What about the Olympics? How tight did you put that on?You didn't mention that you didn't even tighten it down on the screen
The Olympics?
GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR ESTE INTERESANTE VIDEO .
De Nada.
Doing in frame injectors on an OBS isn't terrible but its not fun either. Especially those bolts under the vacuum reservoir and near the firewall. We did the Single shot 180CC stage 1s. Lots of smoke before the D66 spools up..
This wasnt too bad
What lift do you have on this truck? Also, what wheels and tires are you running? thank you
rough country leveling kit and new RC leaf springs out back. KMC wheels on 35s
BustedKnuckleVideo looks good
BustedKnuckleVideo So it's a 2.5" lift all around?
Bartek Witas no its a 2.5 in the front and he happened to replace some rear leaf springs which is not necessary
Ford GT So basically it's just a leveling kit in the front
Thank u for good explaining
I have 2000 Ford f 250 diesel 7.3
187000 millas
And need to update to but no mechanic
injectors aren't too crazy difficult
Great video thanks. 275 hp for the Six speed manual transmission trucks. Your a beast truck owner. Should have pulled the glow plugs first thing for a little look for possible clinder health. Otherwise awesome sauce video.
truck had 330k on it when I sold it for a 6.7
Can you describe what you're putting on and how much they cost? Also the hardest put it together
injectors. Getting the old ones out.
Great job on the video!
Thanks!
i know this is a old video but a friend of mine sent me this video and asked if he followed this would he be ok. Sry dont mean to preach but just a PSA for anyone doing this in the future dont want to see an otherwise good engine ruined because steps where missed.
just to explain better when you pull a injector out all the fuel and oil from the HEUI system trapped in the heads goes down into that cylinder. say your only changing one injector because of a coil issue/maintenance if its number 1 or 2 not as much of a concern because the rake of the engine, but say you are only pulling number 7 or 8 at the back of the engine. all the oil and fuel from that cylinder head has just gone down into and filled that single cylinder and even if you crank over by hand the entire bowl of the piston and chamber volume are still filled with fuel/oil and is a bent rod, or piston/ring damage waiting to happen if you only turned over by hand.
good to know, this was my first time doing injectors
What a great video
Thanks!
very nice truck n vid
Thanks 👍
Fantastic video this helped me big time thanks
Glad it helped
@@BustedKnuckleVideo not sure if y’all still have the truck but how is it holding up??
Thats a neat change of pace from the buggies! Lookin good, that Ford set up looks way simpler than the Chevy of the era. Those suckers were a real pain to get to.
No doubt. It really was a lot easier than I expected. I am not a professional mechanic just someone that likes to work on their own vehicle.
That opening sequence with the burnout was amazing! :D
Thanks!
Nice dang 7.3 !!
Best diesel engine I've ever owned.
BustedKnuckleVideo yeah man the 7.3 is a hoss no doubt !!
They just need some work to make power, out of the box they are slugs lol
great job mate i would like make on my excursion 7.3 cheers from norway
7.3 Excursions are awesome
I have a 2001 excursion and getting ready to upgrade lots of parts, including injectors. Did you ever try the economy dial to see what mpg's you could get if you remember?
It would get around 17mpg at its best.
What INJECTORS series is this? AA 90 cc
Full Force Stage 1.5s link in description
Thanks a bunch.
injectors and proper tuning makes a huge difference
So you have 250hp and after the new Injectors you got 380hp ?
Jake Paul on the race tune supposedly
Your video is so help full I’m down to do it my self, I got a 1999 ford f450 with 7.3 and 220xxx miles, dully I have another question, if my alternator dies, would it kill my engine while running? Cuz that’s what happened!
It can, I would charge your battery up and see if that is the problem first.
Mileage should do better with these. Seems to be already pulling a trailer is way better.
BustedKnuckleVideo did you go with 180/0 injectors?
Question- Should you set the overhead since you already have the valve cover off? Ive done them on my big diesel CAT motor....Is that a pushrod Motor? If so no Lash adjustments-
No need.
Great great video man. Hands down one of the most detailed ones on here. Question 6.0 same procedure?
Good question on the 6.0, Ive never done one but can't see it being too much different
@@renohuskerdu4592 Can you put a 5R100 behind a 7.3?
@@cencoast_7.340 Sure, with enough money. But the 4R is stronger when beefed, and it would take a lot of money to get a TCM to run that 5R standalone.
RenoHuskerDu I see. I have an OBS, thus the E4OD. I’ve heard some bad things about them but mine is rebuilt with a few upgrades. I drive really easy on my vehicles as well. Is it still a bad trans?
Do they make catch cans for those crank case ventilation things and when the the vent goes bad will you suck up oil like you would in a gas engine?
I don't think you need those on diesels
Thanks! I may do it to my F-250 7.3L 2002 Crew Cab we just purchased with 181,000 on it. Looks like a fun project!
Makes a huge difference, I would start with a 6 position chip and exhaust
What's the cost of injectors ? Injector wire harness ? And glow plugs ? And cost for chip ? For the 4 items separately and also what is HP gain ?
all of that information is in the description
first of all...i should thank you for your amazing video. i am not overly mechanical, but i think i may try doing what you did to your 7.3 with new injectors.
