- A day trip to Inishmurray Island Co. Sligo Ireland
This uniquely beautiful and historic Island lies just 7km off the Co Sligo coast. Its Monastic site was founded by St.Molaise in the 6th. century. The last residents vacated their Island Homes in 1948. (Click Keane Films Logo for more Sligo Videos)
Visited this island in 2003 by sail boat with my 6 yr old son, Killian and our King Charles spaniel dog, 'Prince'. A memorable experience! Beautiful island with huge historical significance. I notice in this video, made in 2019, that the houses of the most recent islanders have disintegrated significantly since we were there. That's nature taking its course. Long may this beautiful place preserve!
Amazing video, lovely Insight into the island and life. Great wildlife footage too. ❤️
For such a small island it really packs a punch. Thank you for uploading.
Interesting island, magnificent location with a long history. Excellent production, thanks for making this video. 👀😊👍
Very Nice... Clear Views to Croagh Patrick....
Would dearly love to live there. Fascinating.
A truely beautiful video Ken and Rachel. Many thanks for sharing. 👍👍👌😁
You should make more Sligo videos, they are great 🇮🇪
Just found your videos - beautiful videos and the right music!
Sligo is a wonderful county.
Years ago when Rodney Lomax was still kicking around some of my family camped on the island while 2 of us kept the wee boat we came in within the little natural harbour. I remember the seagulls screaming what it sounded like the names of my cousins and what I am sure was the word help. I remember the midgets making a good meal out of me and I remember walking around the island picking up any driftwood for a small fire that night saying the only French I could at the time - je suis une saucisson. Good times seeing the history of the place above water and under water too. A wonderful island.
Yes, its a magical place and we visit the Island every spring to welcome the bluebells.
Lovely stuff Ken, nice to see the hidden gem that Sligo is.
Keep up the good work, we love it - makes us homesick

Thanks Noel and Jackie great to hear from you.
Beautifully shot video.
Well Done, Ken. I will be passing this video on to many of the island residents who are still living and their descendants.
My grandmother Agnes Heraughty was from there.
My mother was born on this island. Margaret Donlon in 1939

It’s mine ☘️🐺☘️
Class video why am I only seeing this now. I'm so glad that I got to get over to it before the stupid government or whatever stopped boats going over on health and safety grounds.
Thanks Keith, Yes its sad to see this beautiful Island deteriorate a little more each year.
How on earth did you get there???? Your own boat?
Yes Jeanne, unfortunately this is the only way to visit this beautiful Island at present.
