    The rx 6600 is the main contributer to the latest gpu market crash
    For 200$ you get an excellent 1080p card that can play all games at 60 fps you don't need to upgrade your cpu or get a new power supply in most cases

    • @proy3
      @proy3 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      Depending on where you go, it was always that. See Gamers Nexus.

      it was always just broken drivers, whether it be intel or amd or whatever. the fine wine thing just started out as copium from radeon fans because the radeon driver team almost never released drivers on launch day that actually used the card's full potential (apart from the rx 6000 series, which was actually pretty good in that respect).

It sounds so awesome. And every time he references the Airbus A380, it makes me feel so fulfilled, because it's a reference I would have to make as well. It's what you deserve for choosing this model number, Intel.

  • @jerryknudsen7898
    @jerryknudsen7898 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    the best part about the a380 is the overclocking capabilities. In the Arc Control center, just increase the power draw and add some voltage (like +90 is a decent start) and watch the card transform into a different card altogether.

    • @EbonySaints
      @EbonySaints ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It really is a solid overclocker. I'd argue that at ~2800Mhz, it's almost a 580. Granted, stability is iffy there, the Asrock Challenger model has a considerably worse cooler than this, and you have to do some stuff using the Predator Bifrost software to get that specific model to go above 66W.

    The fine wine argument is kinda moot when you start from a completely broken launch. The biggest performance improvement for older games came from directly incorporating DXVK into intel's driver stack, so everything's translated up to a modern API regardless of what a game's coded for. It's a smart move, they can continue improving DX12 / Vulcan performance and stability to the benefit of pretty much everything. The "fine wine" argument may come into play for arc sometime in the future, but I think the starting point is a generally stable, feature complete driver (which they may very well have now), and measuring improvements from there.

    Right Dawid! People don't understand how good the cards like the RX 6600 and 6650 XT (Other cards are available - these cards being amazing does not invalidate your choice of cheap overpowered GPU! 😀) are for the price! While people are busy with "Well at 4K with max settings and showcase RT enabled you need an RTX 234523460" - the FACT is that the VAST majority of people still only have 1080p monitors. The fact very few people (Aka most reviewers) do not actually recognize that an RX 6600 ACTUALLY slays at 1080p is borderline criminal negligence! 😀- The problem is that there IS a lower limit to this - and just like the GT 1630 - the A380 simply doesn't meet it.
    The real problem for these cards is the fact that you can get cards like the RX 6600 for 180$ now - and something like a used RTX 2060 - for about the same price as this card - meaning it might be "a lot more" in % - however when building a PC and looking at the full system price - it's not that much - and the performance is not even comparable. It's a fun toy - the same with the A750 and A770 - however I would NEVER recommend anyone who is not VERY MUCH into tinkering with stuff get one over the AMD and Nvidia options. The A750 and A770 are also AMAZING performance for the price..... when they work.... when they don't then good luck figuring out why! Build 8 identical systems with the A750. 3 ran flawlessly, 3 ran mostly flawlessly - 2 constantly had issues and crashes. changed up the hardware, now 3 ran poorly, changed it up again, now all of them ran "acceptable"... 2 weeks later the first one flat out died. 3 months later another one died.... No one - INCLUDING Intel - could explain it - nor excuse it. And before you ask - I marked down which cards did what to keep track. The first one that died was one of the 2 initial GPUs which had issues, the second one was one of the ones which ran flawlessly in all 3 "builds"... so no pattern there.

    I'll point out something you didn't mention about the ARC: Take a look at memory util claims in the RTSS overlay. Particularly with CP2077 and BFV. There is a substantial drop in 'amount of memory used over what the card has' between older drivers and new ones, and that is likely where the minor improvements in frames and 1%s came from.
    It's also interesting seeing how much more VRAM the ARC card is using compared to the 1630 in general, even in games where the 1630 is running better, like GTA5. It would be interesting to see how the ARC actually performs if they ever get memory management handled in an efficient way.

    The AMD card along with the a750 are the value cards but to be fair comparing a high price a380 with the lowest price AMD card was a little disingenuous. Still at this end of the market you would unlikely get this card for gaming only. AV1 maybe. There have been people suggesting pairing this with a second card for awhile now. Anyone still buying Nvidia in the budget space should hold off until they start competing for value in this space again but they won't.

    • @Wzuixo
      @Wzuixo ปีที่แล้ว

      By price point, the 6400 retails for very similar to the A380 here where they trade blows depending on the game. AV1 might be a pull for some but I’d imagine the average person will go for the AMD card due to their gpu segment (obviously) being more reputable. As a new player Intel needed to create a card that has no real competitor in its price point and failed

    • @hum430
      @hum430 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wzuixo I understand that being the new kid on the block they had to pull out something special and in a lot of ways they did. Drivers aside which while improving still need work when released they were more than competitively priced and it appears as if they have somewhat forced the other companies to reduce their prices. Although you are unlikely to use ray tracing on the A380 as the class of card moves up to the a750 or even the a770 (although despite the 16g of vram I'd say this card is overpriced) some ray tracing is available with a much lower hit than AMD and often comparable to Nvidia. I think at the budget end of the market both AMD and Intel offer good choices and we should be thankful for that. AMD drivers are more mature so are more stable at the moment overall but that also means less headroom to grow. I remember this exact same argument regarding AMD and Nvidia cards in the past and have watched those older cards age much better with AMD cards. The same might be true now for Intel. If I was to build a budget system now for myself it would be a hard call but I would likely use an AMD card for less experienced users still with intel cards tending to scale up to 1440p and 4k than the others it will be interesting to see how battlemage gets on. Especially as that architecture is to compete with current generation graphics cards. Intel, being somewhat late generation wise.

    "I encountered unfair treatment on my Sony PS5 console. I have a PS4 disc of COD13 (Infinite Warfare), and yesterday, while on the main menu of the game, I saw a remastered version of the original Modern Warfare in the bottom row (equivalent to additional content). I clicked on it and entered the PS5 store interface, which showed that I needed to purchase it. I didn't want to buy it, so when I tried to exit, I pressed the Circle O button (because it's the UI of the PS5 store interface). However, due to running the PS4 game, the O button directly became the confirm button (Sony's PS5 operation is X to confirm and O to cancel). It triggered my Alipay's payment without a password, and the purchase was successful. I immediately tried to get a refund when I returned to the game interface, and I never downloaded what I bought (the PS platform's refund policy is for digital content that has not been downloaded or used within 14 days of purchase).
    First, Sony's technical problem caused a bug in the PS5 store's purchase interface, where the confirm and cancel buttons were reversed, leading to this erroneous payment without a password. Second, I am eligible for a refund because I never downloaded it, but they claimed that I had streamed and played the purchased content, even though I hadn't used the streaming function for a long time. Moreover, the reasons for the refusal of refund from the customer service and email were different. Finally, when the customer service could not solve the problem, they remained silent, and I have never seen such a bad attitude from customer service. I wasted my phone bill, and the cost of calling Hong Kong from the mainland is expensive. The two phone calls cost more than the price of the game. Can anyone help me figure out how to protect my rights?"
