Oh nice! I’ve loved this song ever since I came across the single release and with how much of a banger the FB teasers for the original album release teasers, I’m excited seeing IHYL getting the full music video treatment
I'd like to see a band member try to pronounce that title lol Loved the song and the music video, will keep them on my radar now! edit: come to think of it, the video reminds me of Hammock's Sinking Inside Yourself, although this one despite the blood is more hopeful.
The music is good. The video is.... unhinged. What the ever loving manure did go through your head when you portrayed a woman who just randomly ended someone, as proud of herself, singing if this is all there is, i hope you'll live? There is artistic impression, there is existentialism and philosophy, and there is being completely unhinged and irrational.
Though I love the idea of what you're saying, I feel there is something deeper here. After she "kills" the guy, it pans out and he's not there, I think implying that he was never there and it's a metaphorical thing she killed (i.e. demons, insecurities, needs, desires). I think that idea is amplified by the opening scene of her being "fine with nothing" as implied by her thinking she had a grapefruit or orange only to be told by the waiter that she actually didn't have anything on her plate. I feel like there is some metaphor in here about people being complacent or at least being able to cope with less than what is necessary to live, tying even more into the song saying "I hope you live." The song says whether this is a finite space we live in or things go on forever and ever, I just hope you live a life worth living. That's my interpretation at least.
That's the beauty of art, generally; we get to interpret it and make judgements based on our reactions. Personally, I applaud your reaction, and I'm glad you expressed your point of view here. As a band, we've intentionally left much of what our music represents to be interpreted by the listener without some explanation from the band, titles to the songs, etc. The danger of making a video is that we inject perspective and influence the interpretation, but we still want the viewer to draw their own conclusions and your interpretation of the video is important. Thanks for stepping out on a ledge and expressing yourself. Happy listening/watching.
Now imagine it's not really man she kills but the representation of the demons inside of her that caused her to end her own life in the bathtub. Not unhinged. A beautiful and terrible vision of hope.
It took me a while to notice where ITIIITIATIIHYLIHYL stands for, while I've been singing it randomly during the day for no reason at all.
God damn boys, incredible!!
Some quality post-rock! 🤘

This is a completely different dimension guys. The stunning beauty is mixed with the saddest reality. Amazingly beautiful work.
The bud might be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard
Definitely my favorite track from the album.
Blackshape came out of nowhere for me in 2021, and this album ended up being one of the best I've heard in a long time.

This was a wild ride, despite being so short. Can't wait for the full release!
Oh well, guess I don't have to wait XD
Wrapped me in from the start and wouldn't let me go... Even after it ended. So So Good!
Just found them from MetalBirb... I've missed out on 3 years of this. Beautiful song!
First time I have heard this band, it was quite good!
A song deserving of its own video. Excellent!!

Hearing a band member pronounce the title sounds like a great follow up video
@@mzBurtron it's actually pronounced just great in the video at 3:58.
whats the meaning "ITIIITIATIIHYLIHYL" ?
the name song... what it means?
Does anyone know who the singer is?
Scott Shepard is their guitarist & vocalist
Okay, someone has to ask: how do you pronounce that?
I don't think you can. It's an acronym for the lyrics in the song.
The proper pronunciation is “I like turtles” more or less. IFYKYK
what a wierd movie
Is that actually Sarah singing?
@mattlombardi54 no
