to anybody who doesnt think hes right imagine this. its the future. if you want a cool app to , idfk, scan your fridge for recipes, you simply open chat gpt, ask it to make the app for you, and within a couple seconds you get the fully functional app connected and ready for you to use. obviously were not really close to that now but you get the point - thats where were headed clearly applications that exclusively provide utility as software and dont really involve the real world are going to become worth a lot less. and as for ai wrappers specifically a lot of them are just really dumb and useless already. why would anyone pay you MONTHLY to scan the food in your fridge and give them recipes when they can pay open ai for a subscription, and not only solve that problem but get much much more? you guys need to think from the perspective of a neutral consumer. you need to really distancce yourself from whatever it is youre building and honestly ask yourself "would i buy this: and not only from the perspective of a consumer, but from the perspective of an investor or buyer. would you buy your ai saas gpt wrapper bullshit? do you think it has long term sustainability?
This. Exactly what I have been thinking lately. People need an app that actually solves real world problems of people. You need to choose a target audience and think of what common issues they face. That's were you find the value in your product
ChatGPT writes code mainly in Python. Even in C++ or Java they need to be compiled. So your phone will need a way to compile or run the code, but that's not built in.

Purely software businesses are big and mean revenue generators but there are just some things you cannot do on a server. Gathering users to fulfill actions or orders on your marketplace is something you can’t develop, it requires real marketing efforts, but this moat of effort provides some opportunity for those willing to identity their market and take a shot

I personally don’t like the whole VC game, but not everyone is me in the world. I don’t think they have fallen of their grace for most founders wether you consider that a positive or negative. Reality is, there are market trends and AI is just one of them, you don’t have to like it.
User doesn’t care about the how or what, they care about getting real value. Here’s my take: right now there’s a huge gap of opportunities merging AI with Saas enjoy it, don’t do that like you’re doing the next Instagram or Airbnb, eventually your app could die. But until that, solve people problems, generate value, get money and do it again or sit and watch other do it.

This is exactly what I was concerned about. Ever since the debut of ChatGPT, I’ve felt that my ideas are gradually losing their value as GPT continues to evolve into better versions of itself. I didn’t want to create just another AI wrapper. While the idea of a marketplace might seem overused, it’s actually promising because it’s one of the few areas where AI isn’t easy to replace.
I disagree overall. I get your point but shitting on AI wrapers in general is unprofitable for people. I just accept this is the new train hype and adapt. You don’t really need to create anything new whatsoever, you just need to market it well which is the real tricky part for all these companies. There IS value in analyzing because many people just won’t by themselves. There’s also (and clearly) lots of value in a pretty interface because of UX. essentially, if the future is one in which i can create any application that i want to use ever with a simple prompt, the focus needs to shift away from software only and try to focus on real world makes sense.
I think most people are overlooking the fact that AI has lowered the barrier of entry for a lot of “boring” non-saas services; which aren’t in any way AI related. All you need is just a little edge over other players in the market. But that’s a lot less sexy than SaaS.

I've seen pretty awesome AI tools no doubt. But you're talking someone with 30 years of experience having a go at it, I'm talking about someone interested in the space currently on their first attempts. And other than expediting a workflow like a macro or script, I still don't see how AI creates any other kind of value unless it intakes data the end user doesn't have on hand. My successful marketplace #2 had B2B customers come in, use the product, and never leave. They basically sent me love letters. In order for a competitor to come in and steal their attention, they'd first have to surpass my userbase in quantity and ability to utilize it.

The video is about making SaaS products that are valuable. Whatever you generate with a few billion parameter model is not gonna be valuable. Anyone could generate it. The only way you are gonna make money off slop like that is by winning the market with advertising. Besides, you don't really need local RAG or a finetuned model to generate Python scripts. If the documentation for your dependencies is public, just use chatgpt or another llm.
