Make sure you all check out the rose gardens and let me know what your opinions are on the designs and varieties that thrive in the zone 10 Texas climate.

I especially enjoyed the rose garden AJ. I know you have a Lady Banks rambler in your garden. I was surprised to see them on here on such small supports due to their extreme length.

At least you were able to ID the Lady Banks, too bad the others weren't labeled!

    Hey AJ!
    Beautiful gardens!
I can appreciate the artistry and designs.
I love the highs and lows of the different plant varieties and how each plant plays off of each other.
Every plant is beautiful and unique in it’s own right.
    A true work of art.
Thanks for sharing all this beauty! 🪴

That view from the mount was epic. It appears to be the center of the park where you can observe it from all angles. I believe that was a helleri holly hedge. They can get 1.4 metres in optimum conditions.

What most people ignore, you as a gardener take notice. Yes, those beautiful Oaks and Crape Myrtles were gorgeous. Wow Ajuga still in flower. I haven’t seen it since the early spring in my area. It’s amazing difference the time zones make. Very nice Holly hedge. The closest I can get to Agave is Yucca 😊. Liked the centerpiece in the rose garden. Love that color statuary. Thanks for sharing this beautiful garden.

I do appreciate nepeta as groundcover. It is so shearable and gives so much for little to no fuss. And it is a pollinator magnet.

I wish I had a plum tree they have in parks in the state. My family brought one with us to Louisiana in 1966. It had the sweetest tiny little grape sized plums that fell from the tree when ripe. I have no idea what kind it is but I always called them sugar plums.

I had to cover my tomatoes in central Louisiana the last few nights with tarps because some are still ripening. It got down to 30 and 32 which was perfect to ease my fig trees into dormancy without damage. I`m waiting on a 1 gallon size Prime Ark Freedom blackberry bush. I have wild ones but the thorns are so bad. I decided to get a thornless one to have some blackberries to mix with my mulberries next year to make some great wine and brandy. I got an extra bush for my nephew with autism for Christmas. Now I have to learn to propagate the prunings to make more and I hope to successfully grow some in winter inside.

I found a wild rose of some kind like you often see in the woods on very old 1800s homesteads on my sister`s land and she has no idea who may have planted it. It must be from well over 100 years ago because she knows the history of this land going back to the early 1900s. I took a metal detector out there but didn`t find anything old. I gotta get cuttings and rescue that plant and give it to someone to preserve it.

    • @AJsGreenThumbLLC

Lovely video AJ. I always thought all of Texas to be desert without realizing that Houston is on the coast so the climate apparently is more mild.

I know it is not real cheap but what about wood lattice to hang on the fence.

    • @AJsGreenThumbLLC
      @AJsGreenThumbLLC  หลายเดือนก่อน

Wood lattice is a beautiful option but it depends on your climate and what exactly you plan on growing on the wood lattice.
