Technically the character in the 2012 opening ceremony was named Derek, not Mr. Bean. This has been verified by both director Danny Boyle & Rowan Atkinson.

It's not his fault that Frankston has the lowest success rate in education. Frankston is what we Aussies call a 4th world suburb. The moron even pronounces it as Frankstown! he spent his entire life there and doesn't even know how it's pronounced! One of the suburbs in Australia that is always in the top 5 suburbs of Australia of highest unemployment rates... Frankston is so funny. All these people with 2 or 3 uni degrees and they all work in retail. I believe term over educated unemployed came from Frankston. Every 9 out of 10 unemployed person from Frankston has at least 2 degrees... you know degrees like art appreciation and home economics and dance! yes Frankston sports the first ever PhD in dance. If that doesn't clear up what i'm saying you'll never understand...lol!

Personally, I prefer Holiday. Although, I do enjoy how Disaster reimagines the "Asleep on a Rollercoaster" gag for the virtual ride.

Hello Minty your number 1 fan from Mississippi USA. Thank you for all that you do. I remember seeing this with my Dad when it came out, he use to love watching the show with me when I was a kid. And I remember him almost being like a child himself giddy with excitement over the movie. Once again thanks for the great nostalgia trip hope you have a great day.

I hated that movie because the family was played like they were in a drama. Their reactions didn't make Bean funny, but made him into a disease hurting people.

The coffee without a cup isn't just a gag, I've known people who've tried or recommended doing it before, but with instant coffee and room temp water. When I was in the Marines, people would do or suggest this as a way of getting a bit of caffeine while on a forced march. They'd take the packets of instant coffee, cream and sugar from an MRE, pour it in their mouths followed by s swig of water from their canteens. I actually tried it once and it didn't work out that well, just got a mouth full of wet instant coffee but not coffee.
One last thing, those nails in the Bean poster aren't nails, they're rivets, unless rivets are called nails in Australia.

Mr Bean the movie is an enjoyable funny film, though i always wondered how it would have turned out if it had less dialogue and a laugh track included like the TV show had?

Hats Off Entertainment did explain why the film was about Bean wrecking the lives of the Langleys:
"Richard Curtis felt that this way, they could use the family as ta basis for the movie's story, and then interject Mr. Bean into that story, therefore not giving his character the sole responsibility to carry the entire movie."
Also, Mr. Bean's Holiday didn't have a proper straight man character to flesh out its comedy.

Come ON Minty, Mr. Bean's Holiday is an homage to Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot, with he great Jacques Tati (1953) !!!!! Atkinson is himself a great fan of the Tati movies !!!! Watch the original you will love it. And then watch the following Mon Oncle. The best Tati.

So! I wasn't suffering from amnesia. The turkey wearing part had also been removed for the German market.
They really should release an "All-in-cut" which includes all the deleted scenes. I feel deprived.

    I liked this movie.
The singing of the Beatles tune Yesterday is memorable - and the speech kept by Mr. Bean when the painting is revealed, is just captivating.
A movie probably not for everyone - but it surely had lots of awesome moments thru it's duration.
