rawtek's fb page: BKK To LA. So this is the first time I’ve ever really done a vocal for any of my songs. I’ll explain a bit what the lyrics mean to me.. When I was out in Thailand last year I had gotten a call right before one of my studio sessions. My girlfriend had called to let me know that my good friend Ajay had passed away back home in a tragic accident. I went back to my hotel room and started to break down, cry and reminisce about him. Not only was he one of the nicest guys i had ever known but was also one of the main people in my life who inspired me to become a DJ/producer in dance music... Thankfully when i was out at the Barong camp I was surrounded by really amazing people & friends who helped me get through the pain I had over his passing & made me realize that no matter what, I had to keep pushing forward for myself & for him. We both had a dream to pursue music and if he could’ve spoke to me at that moment, i think he would’ve told me to just keep going and make more music instead of feeling sad. So the next session I had was with @lnytnz and he had showed me the perfect break melody that you hear in the song and i was immediately inspired after hearing it. So the lyrics i wrote are about moving forward after losing someone. Whether it’s a friend, a lover, or anyone and just pushing through the darkness to see better days.
