I can only imagine how much pain he's having when he showed that massive bruise even his hands were shaking with the trauma he received kudos to gordon for even showing up on his chef attire and work through the pain for just shooting a short video. I could never imagine myself moving or being able to even stand on his condition I am getting my ass on the bed until I recover from that horrific injury

The last time I saw a hematoma that large was on my right hip from crushing my pelvis in a car accident. I ended up in the hospital a second time from the crash with blood clots to both lungs. I’m lucky to be alive.

im 52 and still do enduro mountain biking. have always worn a helmet, but am getting a full-face this season.

I go biking pretty much every day when it's not winter and biking can be dangerous I know i had some crashes over the years so Gordon Ramsay "for god's sake please be careful having a cooking show without you is very hard to imagine!" I really hope there is going to be a Hell's Kitchen season 23 so be careful maybe you should stick to soccer/Football or running for a while.
Remember a police car rolled down the window and I thought I s*t then they said congratulations for wearing a helmet and following traffic rules

Wow that is the most massive bruising I have ever seen when I first saw it I thought it must be a joke since Gordon loves to play pranks I thought it couldn't be for real when I realized it was my heart sank I will pray for his speedy recovery As I am a huge fan of his.
At someone his age got to be very careful not to fall, cuz even one fall can mean a trip to ER.

His hands are shaking still from the emotional toll of it all. As far as hospital food goes, Loma Linda Hospital in southern CA is good. I'm sure he knows what he is served at a hospital would be what he's supposed to eat.

I watch 60-year old men mountain bike with their bike helmet hanging off the handle bars like a little kid. Always wear your helmet, I split one going less than 10-mph.
Got a Carbon Fiber Fox helmet and it's been amazing, taken a few whacks and zero damage!

That is an anti-cycling message. Thegreat danger to cyclists is motor vehicles. Nowhere in this coverage is the nature of the crash discussed.
The message should be : Cars are dangerous to all and espcially cyclists. Avoid exposure to cars OR wear a helmet.
AND demand that cars be lighter, slower, fewer, driven shorter distances, and with more responsibility on drivers.

When driving on the road don’t assume you’re like a car and everyone sees you. If no one is on the sidewalk, I’m riding on it, I’ll get off when I need to.
Same, riding on the sidewalk is more fun too, lots of random concrete features in parking lots to to wheelies off. Also rockin the full face helmet, can't risk the dental work lol.

There are far too many people not wearing helmets... actually it has been normalized here in montreal to NOT wear one. People shouldn't gamble with their lives... please wear one!
It will prevent injuries but it won’t stop your brain from shaking.. wear it to prevent minor accidents like falling off but it will not save you from a car hitting you or falling off a cliff.. I still ordered a helmet though and will wear it now.. it will help certain things but not the severe..

My dad had a bike accident years ago, he was riding down a steep hill and the handle bars snapped off, the police and paramedics started to scold him about using a helmet when he told them that he was, and the police told him his helmet was the reason he was alive. I can still see the scar left from the crash on his head.

@FreePigeon The only reason there may be fewer wrecks/accidents like this is because the population of European countries is a fraction of the US. There should be designated lanes for bicycles and vehicles so this stuff doesn't happen as much. The problem is, in the US people on bikes tend to be arrogant and inconsiderate to drivers.
