Transfer to an extremely high bed.

Staying in a relative's house on vacation. As you know, this can save money AND the frustrations of Hotels not understanding your needs.
Before you say, "No, it won't work.", take a minute to try.
I FAILED my first attempt and my wife transferred me, but it was not smooth whatsoever. So I tried myself and this is what happened.

I tried to get into my bed without using my legs and it made me wonder what it was like for someone who can’t actually use their legs. Much harder than I thought it might be. Kudos to you.

I could never pull that off, I travel with a 48" long transfer board for tall beds.

Those pillowtops are great for grabbing. That is pretty much my, I ended up visiting the floor, techniques. When it's colder my shoulders tend to hurt. That technique is good for elbow crawling deeper on to the bed. Helps avoid extension stress. Thanks for sharing. Be well.

You should raise the height of your foot plate a few inches. It will improve your posture, ease back pain and you may even start to transfer with your feet on the footplate like I do. (T9 para complete - since '96)

I pooped today . I told the nurse's I was going to have a Tee withthat onit , I was going to get a Ball cap with City of Wheels on it . This was at a VA center .

How tall are you? I’m only 5’4 with short arms and legs so transferring in and out of a high bed is petrifying, any suggestions?
