- I take a stroll to the peaceful and quaint Brickell Key from Downtown Miami. Brickell Key is a man made island which is home to the Mandarin Oriental hotel. The island was created due to Henry Flager's excavation at the mouth of the Miami River. You can also see many people walking towards Downtown Miami due to the Ultra Music Festival, a popular electronic music event.

Good morning, Action K. Glad you taped "Brickell Key," but have some tips for next time. When you are walking the bridge *to Island, walk on the left side. As you look to "Brickell Key's" *bank, there are usually a ton of iguanas hanging out/often being fed. As well, you veered to the right upon getting on Island, next time veer left and straight. You can walk past the guard houses. This way, you get right into the very small , "town-like" or commercial stretch within Island, and it is there you will find their **cafe/grocer, which, I've already written you, had marvelous, fresh coffee, and nice quality - everything. As it's all pretty mellow, local/residential, it's a very nice destination for you - even privately, without taping. They have porch seating , and you can sit, drink, eat, think - for as long as you need. Last FYI, the hotel that flanks the right side - "Mandarin Oriental" is a stunner. Great luxurious place for lunch , dinner, refreshments. Best to you until next-
Also, it's better to walk around the island...from the left after crossing the bridge. That way, as he walks around, he can show the downtown Miami skyline as he walks toward it. It's kinda sad they fenced in the beach area in front of the Mandarin; it was cool to walk around that when it was open.

I used to walk this all the time back in the early 00s...about 18 years ago. Man, has the area near this really changed in that time!

@@ActionKid If you had crossed over US-1 (Biscayne Blvd) there, gone up to S. Miami Ave. and turned right on that street, you would have seen the drawbridge they jumped during "2 Fast, 2 Furious" and shot some scenes from "Bad Boyz 2." I lived by the bridge when they filmed those movies back in 2003 or so. The area looks totally different now.
You've showed Brickell during your evening/night livestreams, so it's nice to see the area with all the activities during the daytime. 😃 The walk through Miami River is so relaxing with great views. 😍 Thank you for sharing this quiet stroll, AK! 🤗
