Written by Brian, delivered by Freddie.
This is about Brian’s marriage failing, he also released a version of it. It’s an amazing song.
The story goes when Freddie heard the song from Brian, he wanted to sing it.

Sorry guys nothing to do with Freddie's health situation. This was written by Brian and was about the breakdown of his marriage.

That is the beauty of music though - A good song transcends what it was written about and becomes it's own beast.

Yes,Freddie had it all with that voice ; tone, pitch, resonance and a four octave range. He also poured a lot of emotion into his singing. This one, though was written by Brian May and there is a version of him singing it and while he doesn’t have Freddie’s power,it is very genuine.

Freddie didn’t write this, and it certainly wasn’t about his health. Brian wrote it because he fell in love with another woman while still married to his wife, and the subsequent break down of his marriage. The lyrics do resonate with Freddie’s situation though, so I’ll forgive you for assuming so. I hope you will do some more Queen. Please react to Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981.

His singing was amazing but it must have been difficult because it does feel like it's about him

I clicked on this reaction cuz of Queen. There are lots of Queenies out there that will show a lot of support. Brian May write this song about his divorce. But Freddie sings very passionately. I definitely think you should do love BRIGHTON ROCK, NOW IM HERE, LIAR, INNUENDO, MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN, PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE..... But first!!!! Must react to SOMEBODY TO LOVE live in Montreal 1981.

I've just looked it up he wrote it with two other people
      Freddie obviously recorded it!
But it was then sude lined because it would go against their agreement that all the songs on the last albums were credited to all the band (only)
      That was 88
But brian shoved it on this album!

Its a masterpiece, Freddie was very sick already, but the lyrics are sooooo powerfull and his voice.....spine chilling. Much bless to you and keep up the good work.

@@InfinityGrooves THANKS... I will LOOK FORWARD to it! (If you don't know the background of the song: Fred's failing health was at-the-point while recording this, that he only was able to sing the first two verses. He told Brian May that he'd come back another day to finish the song, but was never able to... so the last verse of the song is sung by Brian later on, after Freddie had passed away.)

It's kind of refreshing to hear a Queen reaction from people who are already very familiar with the band! And they have so much music to explore that hasn't traditionally been played on the radio in America, so it's new to a lot of people who haven't already heard their entire musical catalog (though I'd give most of the songs on their album "Hot Space" a pass apart from "Under Pressure", which you are both probably already familiar with).

He agreed to sing this song but it must have been difficult to sing when he was I'll aids
And all he ever wanted in life was that one true love
The songs brush brought to him I find it odd
He wanted to keep making music to keep going but he's singing these type of songs
Brian concentrated on doing songs for his solo album when he was in Switzerland and freddie came down to record when they had a song for him or when he was up to it
    People really like
Mother love but I find that one difficult as well Freddie didn't finish it
    Brian finished it off
I wish theyd done more songs for him
Ive seen articles and videos saying his voice wasnt good in the last two albums!
I'm not musical but I think he sounds amazing
Made in heaven 95 album mainly has old songs on it
The only new ones I think was a winter tale freddie wrote and he composed you dont fool me
I've just looked I think this was recorded in 88 he knew then he was I'll they didnt
It was long on them recording after miracle because freddie refused to unless they all agreed to share credit and did things differently
Richard their producer in Switzerland implied freddie came in and recorded a few songs saying he asked for a drum kit to get it recorded and they could do the music after
Normally fir his songs he would compose first but that was too much for him and thinking of time wise
He could barely stand but was determined to work I wish theyd done more
They did quite a lot on innuendo though

There are two main reasons why not more so far unreleased songs weren't released:
1.) Freddie used basically every minute he was able to still sing to record. But even under pressure, you don't just suddenly write really good songs much more quickly. Basically, he sang everything he came up with on his own and anything Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon could come up with in those last few months when things got worse. The best songs made it onto "Made in Heaven". They'd never release a song now that wouldn't meet their standards. Just not worth it.
2.) The other thing that happened was diving into old leftovers from the early 80s, which means demos, things where the lyrics weren't finished etc. - Three such songs were put on the "Queen Forever" compilation (one of which features Michael Jackson). It meant a lot of work for Brian and the rest to use Pro Tools to get Freddie's voice (and Michael's) as cleanly out of the demos as possible and then add their own voices and new instrumentalisation below it. Which is quite a lot of work for tracks that didn't cut it for their "The Works" album.
And for every older demo you find, you really have to gauge whether what you have as material is truly worth the effort.
And then came Adam Lambert. And two old rockers found out that touring as Queen + Adam Lambert is actually a loooooot of fun for them. They're in their 70s now. I think if there's archived demo-material worth working on, it's gonna be done once Roger, John and Brian are gone. By people allowed by the Queen members in their estate to work on the catalogue. Maybe they'll find some fun stuff to work with. But for now: Brian and Roger are enjoying working with Spike Edney on keyboards, Roger's son on percussion and Adam Lambert on vocals, to give us more Queen+ concerts - as long as they're able to. This, of course, isn't the year to go on tour, and I hope they're actually doing some studio work behind the curtains.

I hope someday will we get more releases from "the vault" but if we don't they have alot of great songs already in their catalog. I will forever listen to!

There are some live Queen shows that could be released. Some fans were unhappy that Brian and Roger released a live album with Adam Lambert while there is definitely 70's Queen concerts that could be released. On top of which they even recorded Freddie's solo song with Adam singing them, there are loads of fans not to happy with that.

    • @fryke
      @fryke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ZENOBlAmusic There are always lots of fans that are unhappy. :) It's really a weird "Ooh, I'm offended!"-thing that's completely unnecessary. Coz: If you don't like Adam, why would you ever listen to that recording. If any song offends you, don't listen to it. Most people know how to create playlists that _don't_ contain songs that offend them. ;)

Another solo of Freddie from barcelona they put it to an orchestra even though mike had offered to do that and Freddie said no he wanted to keep it as they had done it
When queen asked mike to help change it he said he didn't want to get involved because it wasn't what Freddie wanted
I know he said do what you want but don't make it boring I think to mack?
But I'm not sure I like them using his solo stuff
But they should have respected his wishes and not gone against them
(He said directly he didn't want it changed)

Awesome reaction guys! You have to check out some live Queen, they were awesome live. Check out White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odoen 1975 th-cam.com/video/f8usNj4x9NA/w-d-xo.html. The live version is better then the studio version. The band saw how well Too Much Love Will Kill You would work for Freddie. In truth Freddie actually took a very different approach to his death sentence. He never looked back in remorse. He tried to record as much music as possible with the time he had left, he was more thankful that he had some time left. He wrote songs that gave advice or about the beauty in the world. The song he wrote as a final farewell song to the fans is really almost more of a progressive metal type of song, Was It All Worth It th-cam.com/video/sEhYFnwTciQ/w-d-xo.html.
