My Z06 headers from Kooks are on the way! So stoked!!! Great video. BTW, my oil pan was soaked in oil just like your buddy’s car. I changed the pan gasket in my garage with jack stands and an engine hoist. Added some stuff from Improved Racing while I was in there. 🤙🏻

I also did the Kook Headers 1 7/8 with X Pipe Borla System I could literally feel the extra power and the sound is fucking amazing Kooks really makes a quality product same with Borla I was going to attempt to do the install at home and after watching a couple of videos I was like NAAH I’ll take it to the dude down the road with the custom muffler shop he only charged me I thought it was cheap $150 cash to put the whole thing on and he literally gave me my car back in 2 hours with a 2 Year Warranty on the install But another thing is, if he doesn’t like the type of equipment you bring to install on your car to him he will reject the job like he has something against MagnaFlow idk what it is but if you have a magna flow system, he will tell you know go get something else and come back and won’t even talk to you. After that I asked him what is your personal vendetta against magna flow he said he didn’t want to explain that to me because he only wants to deal with good quality products. I was actually gonna get a magna flow system, but opted for the Borla my friend has the same exact set up so I did the same thing as well. Just like you did on that C6.
That’s hilarious ! Commando was just on last night. Kooks headers are beautiful. I had a hard time choosing between those and arh for my camaro. My arh, catless xpipe and exhaust picked up 50-55 hp!
Did my Coyote mustang at home on jack and jack stands , took me almost 2 days ahha, and the starter and both motor mounts had to come out , steering shaft too and i had to bend a AC line out of the wzay not to mention theres no space to work on that car.... anyways it was a fkn pain in the rear!!! awesome video guys i love C6 Zs such a beast of a car!
That sounds like a battle man! Nice work on the Coyote - it would be great to hear how it sounds now. Hopefully you didn't lose any refrigerant on the AC line bend! Thank you for the comment!
Hey guys maybe its just not shown in the video but looks like you missed the second drain plug for the oil and also I think those two lines go to the dry sump tank since the z06 doesnt have a oil pan
what exhaust did he have? Custom or stock NPP? I wanna go kooks + X piper but wondering the Idle difference (For neighborhood purposes, if its too loud then imma hold off)
We did it in 8 hours (while filming) with that crew of 3. 1 person should be able to get it done in 2 days - might require a few trips to Advance & the hardware store
How long did that take you btw? I have a shop quoting me $1200 for a header install and that they have to remove the alternator which sounds like a crock of shit
It pleases me to see cars with finger prints all over the fenders :) We were being careful - but one dropped spark plug could have ruined our day. Good suggestion - will invest in some fender covers!
that reaction was weak. I remember back in the day just putting an x pipe in my mustang GT and it was INSANE it completely transformed it...it was like buying a new car. Also he doesn't even wanna rev it. I guess maybe he was nervous for the camera or something
Great question - it would be difficult to show in the video. It was definitely significantly louder. But, the owner got cams and a tune shortly after and now it ROARS

Sounds great, those were the dry sump oil lines though, not an oil cooler, doesn’t really matter for the install, just an fyi

Plenty of room for wrapped headers. Just do it before they’re installed.
