Lost foam casting

Lost foam metal casting session at rLab. The foam patterns are made from polystyrene insulation board. The sand is ordinary playpit sand. The foam vaporises as the hot metal is poured in and the metal fills the cavity in the sand. The detail is not as good as with greensand casting and the patterns are destroyed in the process (investment casting) but it's a quick easy method.
