With the extreme drought its a miracle theirs actually a cain harvest. Here in kaplan we went months without rain. Farmers had to flood the fields to try and save the cain.
I noticed he had the 'tops head' set very low, - very little 'Green' waste being cut, - and for once the ground was nice and firm. BUT my golly, he was shifting the fastest I think I have ever seen one of those cut at. With the amount he did you virtually got a 20 minute video in the space of a10 minute one. Good video, - enjoyed it.
This was my first time filming a shredder type topper which was cool to see. This area (as well as most of South Louisiana) has been hit very hard by drought this year. This has made the cane in many areas much shorter than usual. And yes he was rolling pretty fast lol..
Great video as always. But damn i never seen a combine cut that fast. I know it's probably 3rd or 4th year stubble(and not much weight) and likely replanted next year but the speed is impressive.
What about the wholesticks that the harvester broke off in the standing row when it harvester cut that row are they just laying on the ground covered in thrash?
The cane is too short cause of the drought to leave much behind. The cane left at the end of the row was due to him having to lift the machine to cross the headland. For some reason the machine was having a pretty violent drop when coming out of the row onto the headland.
Full support , this is amazing technology that Philippines needed in cane harvesting . From Texas
I live in Reserve, LA. Back in the day our little town had the Godchaux Sugar Refinery! Still some cane fields today but no Godchaux!

Yep, it definitely had an effect on this year's crop
That would be _"there's"_ & _"cane"_
You know, just for lagniappe
Laissez les bon temps rouler mon Ami

Who is the market leader for this all in one sugar cane harvester? John Deere or Case-IH
Seems like I see more Deere machines. But there's a lot of Case too..
How longer waiting sugarcane can harvesting..
Where are you filming from? Looks like New Iberia. Really like your videos. Pretty cool to see this type of harvesting where I’m from.
This was a little further north around New Rhodes. Thanks , glad you like my videos!
How much cane do they leave behind with the crop dividers all the way up?
None! Did not see anything left. The cane was short and straight so it picked everything up well.

No cane on the row and the holes in the feild
This area suffered a severe drought, no rain for months, it did a lot of damage to the cane crop.
