I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income
Just because there are opportunities in the market doesn’t mean you should go in blindly. To understand the potential factors that contribute to your financial growth, I'll advise you to seek the help of a professional
With my demanding job, I lack time for investment analysis. For seven years, a fiduciary has managed my portfolio, adapting to market conditions, enabling successful navigation and informed decisions. Consider a similar approach.
My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.
As a beginner, educate yourself, Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online, including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, it’s important to do your own research.
Yes, I've been in constant touch with a Financial Analyst for approximately 8 months. You know, these days it's really easy to buy into trending stocks, but the task is determining when to sell or keep. That's where my manager comes in, to help me with entry and exit points in the industries I'm engaged in. Can’t say I regret it, I’m 40% up in profits just in 5months with my initial capital of $160k
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with Jessica Lee Horst for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
I just googled her name and I'm really impressed with her credentials; I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get. I just scheduled a call.
I began investing in dividends with my taxable account and used a buy-and-hold strategy in my Roth IRA. I added some Berkshire B stock, SCHD, and an S&P 500 and total market ETF.
When I started investing last year, I avoided significant mistakes. I've focused on investing modest sums in stable businesses for the long term. If stocks perform well, I hold onto them; otherwise, I reinvest losses into profits. Recently, I made $9.5k from a $4k investment in NVIDIA.
I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over 1.5 million dollars working with an investment coach for more than two years.
My advice for dividend investors is to save for a bigger investment if you really want to retire off dividends, My major picks are SCHD and VOO and a few more that i can't mention because my FA Dianne Sarah Olson is really strict on discretion, anyway i digress, You can't expect to make a million from a thousand dollar investment that's where most people get it wrong, It's not a lottery!! Make realistic investments!! People say it's good to be greedy while investing..Yes, i agree but there's a difference between being greedy and being delusional haha. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.
Well, in my opinion, If you invested it right now (during the market’s downturn) you’d be buying at a low price which is highly recommended by my fa and based on past performances in the market in 2030 with the right coach you should have four and a half million in your portfolio sitting pretty.
There is obviously a compounding effect in the very long term for large capital, but is not "automatic", and with the wrong strategies you can even lose more than you have. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Normally your buy should be so great that selling feels like a forced trade either because of taxes or a change in the fundamentals (investment thesis). I’m currently focused on dividend paying (3% yield), growth rates of at-least 7%, and valuations under p/e 20x. Buying at the right price, dollar cost averaging, low turnover rates (avoid unnecessary transaction related taxation), and compounding over the long run matters the most.
As a soon retiree, keeping my 401k on course is my top priority. I have been reading of investors making up to 250k ROI in this current crashing market, any recommendations to scale up my ROI before retirement will be highly appreciated.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money or you could hire a financial expert.
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2020, and I return at least $30k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over. This is for stock holders.
Unfortunately, most people don't get this, the majority is after chasing tops/bottoms where they fail & get out of the game. Therefore, in the current bear market, we should pay more attention to the risk rate of the market. We must control the risk to a minimum and improve earnings. It is best not to blindly enter the market.
You can't really know the full risk rate except you are a professional. Reason I settled for advisory and guide from a stock. Never been the same again with my holdings

Not sure if I totally understand your post. My plan at this time is to continue my 401k contribution and match but mostly to stuff the hell out of my annuity. It is safe from loss and only pays if the market is up. Sure it's less than a winner in stocks, but a bird in the hand is better than praying that the Wall St. casino goes the way my fantasies envision. I feel that cash is king, especially b/c I am retiring to South America. So I'll let the casino accounts; Roth, 401k, do their thing for many years and move them to safe ground when and IF they top out.
I started buying some more stocks at the beginning of the year, but nothing big. Why am I treating this so harshly? I still want to be the first person in my polygamous family to make a million dollars despite the fact that others in my field make six figures per person. I am well aware of the costs associated with working more to get more money.
I am trying to avoid making any new buys at this point in order not to get sucked into a bear market trap. It's tough making money in stocks when institutional investors are the driving force behind the selling.. although I read an article about people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?
You’re correct! The markets right now might give opportunities to maximize profit within a short term, but in order to execute such strategy , you must be a skilled practitioner.
Yes. It is very easy to buy trending stocks but the problem is knowing when to sell or hold, which is why a coach is important. I've been in touch with one for about a year now and although I was initially skeptical about it, I will say I've made more progress within a year generating 6figure profit

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. Opting for an inves-tment advisr is currently the optimal approach for navigating the market, particularly for those nearing retirement. I've been consulting with a coach for a while, and my portfolio has surged by 85% since 2022
As always, a great analysis. Newcomers often wonder if it's too late to navigate the financial market, but the market is always unpredictable. Trading has more advantages than simply holding, so it's important to learn before diving in. Active trades are necessary to ride the market's waves. I admire the financial independence of people, But you can live better if you work a little more. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. I plan to work until I'm at least 45
Nobody knows anything, you need to create your own process, manage risk and stick to the plan, through thick or thin while also continuously learning from mistakes and improving
One of the main reasons I have a portfolio coach supervise my daily investment decisions is that their whole skill set is focused on trading long and short at the same time, using profit-oriented strategies and avoiding risk as a hedge against inevitable downtrends. When paired with insider information and analysis, underperformance is exceedingly difficult. Since employing a coach for around two years, the return on investment has topped one million five hundred thousand dollars.
I've been thinking of going that route has been holding on to a bunch of stocks that keep tanking and I don't know if to keep holding or just dump them, think your Inv-coach could guide me with portfolio restructuring.
It's okay if they don't agree with this type of investing, many of us do agree. I have 20 positions in high growth stocks. I'm getting 15 dividend pay checks, however I'm up 125 % this year. About $650k this yr, good dividend paying portfolio, although I use an F.A so buy as much as you can and wait for the rebound. Only the brave gets rewarded in these times!
The most popular investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.
I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
I'd be interested to see the performance by dividend income for all of these players vs the S&P 500 too. Can it safeguard and grow $500k cash reserve for next 2 years at no risk?
I think you're better off with majority investment in S&P500 and acquiring shares cos they always outperform. Alternatively speaking to a certified market strategist can help with pointers on equities to acquire
When it comes to situations like this, it’s wrong to engage in a single option. I suggest diversifying into various options with high performance coupled with the experience and aid of a finance Pro will generate bigger dividends and balance volatility.Thankfully, I can attest to the success of this approach seeing my portfolio of $330k grow by 85% in 3 years.

I’ve had majority of my holdings in tech stocks and irrespective of market changes, I’ve done pretty well especially with apple’s P/E(price to earnings ratio) gaining over 40% this past decade, now my questions is what stocks do you think will be the next apple in terms of growth for the next decade.
It might be difficult finding the next apple within the tech stock sector, apple has performed way better than the others, maybe look outside of tech stocks.
My spouse and I are diversifying our long-term investment portfolio by adding various stocks and ETFs. We've allocated $220k to begin with, focusing on inflation-indexed bonds and companies with strong cash flows. Home Depot is actually my biggest earner, very surprised. Bought some in 2009, been going up ever since. While my Apple stock is nice, it doesn't pay as much in dividend. Now if only Tesla pays dividend, that would be great.
I'm not kidding when I say that the market crash and high inflation have me really stressed out and worried about retirement. I've been in the red for a while now and although people say these crisis has it perks, I'm losing my mind but I get it Investing is a long-term game, so focus on the long run.
I can’t focus on the long run when I should be retiring in 3years, you see I’ve got good companies in my portfolio and a good amount invested, but my profit has been stalling, does it mean this recession/unstable market doesn’t provide any calculated risk opportunities to make profit?

Shelter in a TFSA or RRSP if you still have contribution room. Also, claim the foreign tax as a tax deductible if you are working when you file your taxes.
I looked at all 7 of your stocks and calculated the geometric average with dividends reinvested for each stock starting at the beginning of each year 2014, 2015, etc. and ending in 2023 for 10 years. I then compared these 10 data point to an index (SPY). Of these 7 stocks only one beat the index and that was HD. The other 6 stocks with 60 data point there was only one stock for one year that beat the index. it might be better to just invest in an index. Total return is the yardstick to use for success and not just dividends.
I traded well on my Demo account but when I invested in to my main account i lost all my funds. Please i need an expert to assist me with my trading. It's frustrating how people loss funds in this trading, I really feel so bad.
Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.
Hearing from an experienced investor who has survived adversity and prevailed is always motivating. It may be frightening when your portfolio goes from green to red, but if you have invested in strong firms, you should maintain growing them and stick to your goal.
Some of the non-tech that I think are positioned to go really up are Home Depot, Delta Airlines, Pool Corp, etc. It's summer anyway. I'll be rooting for these stocks, and have set aside almost $200k for that. Having issues now with how to allocate capital, and to know if my projections are right based on technical observations.
When you mention risk, please define it. Also quantify your definition. Diversification can be achieved with a few as 10 holdings. Allocation isn't difficult if your accounts are structured properly. MO is no more 'risky' than PG, or HD, if you are using risk as meaning the company fails altogether. Most reputable platforms have SIPC coverage... that's also a factor in addressing risk.
What people need to realise is that when you look at healthy companies, companies that's been around for a long time and have had a healthy situation for years or even decades is that they are not going anywhere. If their stocks are dropping in value, doesn't mean we're losing. It means the stock is now on sale. We're investers, we're all suckers for a bargain. Buy more, it's cheaper. Companies like Home Depo, or Walmart, or other huge brands are not going anywhere. They are firm, and they are long term. Get in on the action.
i was so disappointed. I thought that he was going to talk about good dividend paying stocks. When he started with HD which pays less than 3%/yr the dividend part of this video made no sense at all. You might do OK with the stock price going up but as a dividend payer, it's a real dud.
Interesting picks, Kevin O’Leary once said, “if you are stupid enough to smoke, I should make a profit off you” While I do own VYM, SCHD and DGRO also look attractive with moderate growth.

Managed to pay off my debt by 2019 and currently have a house and 250k total in investments (combo of profit share, 401k and a brokerage account). I'm not very knowledgeable in investing, so I just have my investing currently in index funds mainly VOO, but have been putting a lot into SCHD the past few months.

Fantastic! That sounds wonderful. How can I get in touch with your financial supervisor?

Consistently investing in quality dividend paying companies over the long term is a relatively easy strategy to create generational wealth.
out of curiosity I did read about Dianne Sarah Olson on the web, she has a great resume.
While i admire long term investors, I really don't know what to expect. For instance, if i invest 500k what would my portfolio look like in 2030?
Well, in my opinion, If you invested it right now (during the market’s downturn) you’d be buying at a low price which is highly recommended by my fa and based on past performances in the market in 2030 with the right coach you should have four and a half million in your portfolio sitting pretty.
There is obviously a compounding effect in the very long term for large capital, but is not "automatic", and with the wrong strategies you can even lose more than you have. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K.
This is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfoIlo allocation

The current market might give opportunities to maximize profit within the short term but to execute such a strategy, you must be a skilled practitioner or be working with one.

I believe investors should focus on under-the-radar stocks, especially given the present rollercoaster nature of the stock market. 35% of my $270,000 portfolio consists of collapsing stocks that were previously respected, and I don't know where to go from here.
Impressive can you share more info?

Hi thank u for your video. For non US citizens I think there is 30% tax on dividends 😢

You have no idea what you are talking about.. Canada has TFSA, RRSP.. EU countries has Tax-havens you can access.

Very informative. It’d be nice if you can speak a bit slower.

I think you should add JNJ into the mix as well.
how do I invest these stocks ? use brokerage to normal trade or any specific trade ?
What people need to realise is that when you look at healthy companies, companies that's been around for a long time and have had a healthy situation for years or even decades is that they are not going anywhere. If their stocks are dropping in value, doesn't mean we're losing. It means the stock is now on sale. We're investers, we're all suckers for a bargain. Buy more, it's cheaper. Companies like Home Depo, or Walmart, or other huge brands are not going anywhere. They are firm, and they are long term. Get in on the action.
Some of these are low yelds, I believe treasuries and bonds might be better choice.
i was so disappointed. I thought that he was going to talk about good dividend paying stocks. When he started with HD which pays less than 3%/yr the dividend part of this video made no sense at all. You might do OK with the stock price going up but as a dividend payer, it's a real dud.

@Charlie Chang there's a big difference from $100k to $500k to $900k. So, depends on how much.
@@CharlieChang Why not give a closer idea? Your answer can be almost a million dollars apart
Assuming balanced dividend returns across these assets, would need $400k to yield $13,200/yr.
which tool do you use to see those analyst recommendations and price targets?
Hey everyone! Just FYI, most of the comments below are bots to try and entice you to invest with a certain person or company. Beware!
great video, very informative and educative. great video, very informative and educative.
Hi, is this apply a stocks only in US???
Interesting picks, Kevin O’Leary once said, “if you are stupid enough to smoke, I should make a profit off you”
While I do own VYM, SCHD and DGRO also look attractive with moderate growth.
Impressive video. I started a bit late (graduated from my doctorate program at age 30 in 2016 with 170k in school loan debt). I dunno if that's the optimal strategy, but psychologically it is very set it and forget it, and prevents me from obsessing over individual stock performance anyway credits to my FA without her I would have been clueless
I’m thinking of doing the same but not sure if I should use different brokerage accounts? Just Curious. Pros and cons ?
@@harrisonkyunghee Instead of using different brokerage accounts to purchase index funds or individual stock, compare your age(s) and how much time you have estimated till retirement, you can also opt to consulting/working with a fund manager/advisor for an “optimal strategy” to outperform the bear market.
@@michaelgraham19871 Sounds great. I could really use the expertise of an advisor, just can’t find while I’m away for work in New Zealand for another year. My portfolio has been stagnant. Who’s the person guiding you ?
@adamtennant She runs her firm under her name Olivia Rene Reyes. You can find her contact page if you research her. Do your due diligence you'd find all you need to know
@@michaelgraham19871 Thanks for sharing this. I did my own research, and your advisor looks advanced and experienced. I wrote her once but she didn't reply so I wrote her again and scheduled a session. She’s really experienced.. can't wait to have a chat. I hope she doesn't ignore me.
Charlie what Is your equation on how to buy
CWAN should make new base. Has good earnings. I am thinking it should double in a year. Always STOPs in to limit risk.
You don’t lose money when a stock price goes down. Be more careful with your speech. I’m sure you know this. You don’t lose or gain until you sell, which is why dividends are great. You make money without selling.
New investor with Vanguard...looking at a UPS/Amazon investment if the strike tanks the value. Any advice???
A great dividend stock right now is legal and general LGEN 9.19% :D
Initially, how much did you invest in each stock?
Everyone has been preaching "buy now, stocks are at a discount" but I've been buying stocks since the beginning of the year and yet nothing's changed, but I've been reading articles of people still in the same market pulling off over 350k in just a couple months, what am i doing wrong?
You’re right! The current market might give opportunities to maximize profit within a short term, but in order to execute such strategy , you must be a skilled practitioner.
Why do I see the exact same comments here as I have seen on other dividend investment videos?
Ai
How much do you need to invest?
You can start investing with just a few dollars but to make $1k+ per month dividends you'll need hundreds of thousands invested! It takes time
to make 1k a month in dividens you would probably need to invest anywhere from 130k to 180k.
@@CharlieChang thank you for the reply :)
When you buy dividend stocks do you just buy a market buy or should you buy a stop loss
Also never buy a market buy unless you want it asap. I always use limit orders
How many shares do I need to buy to get a nice dividend back???
you need at least 200k.
how about goldman sachs bdc ? it has very good dividend and us kinda low atm
Is m1 finance good for a roth ira what do you recommend
Does anyone have a website they can plug in the information and it project what you dividend payout should be ?
Bill Gates owns 37 million shares of micro soft and they pat 75 cents per share
Thank you very much for the video and the great stock picks. I have them in my portfolio and some international ones too. I agree with you about Bank of America and continue investing in them!
These were some good picks, I own all of these and never thought to sell them.
