I don´t remember the details. If they had followed him this had been a catastrophe for the US, probably a collaps of the american imperium, and in consequences the collaps of world economy. I don´t know many facts, the issue is very, very complicated. The US survived with their gigantic national dept thanks to the US Dollar as the leading currency in the international oil bussiness. At the end of 2022 the US national dept including all states was some 3.500 billion = 3.500.000.000.000 US$. There were NO weapons in Iraq. Saddham was a murderer, there is no doubt, but that was never a problem for the US as long as Saddham did sell "his" oil for the Petro Dollar. Colin Powell speach was a misleading lie.
