We need to be patient as the squad was rebuilt in the last week of the window. Our new squad isn’t as good as some people think we don’t have a out and out striker like what Parker had in solanke at Bournemouth We are very good at the back and also credit to QPR as they defended very well on Saturday
Burnley have only played 2 teams in the top 5 the rest have been up against lower teams in the division. The problem is a goal scorer or scorers.we need to spend on attacking midfield and up front.
Sunderland fans: 9 wins from 12 "how did that happen?" Burnley fans: 6 wins from 12 "Not good enough!" Leeds fans: 6 wins from 12 "We're the greatest team in the world!!!!!"
Yes because we're playing the most boring anti-football I've seen in 40 years of watching... We're in a false position... We'll also be lucky to make the playoffs on this form... It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out if you watch us regularly!
Good video Ben. There are a few caveats: 10 players currently out injured or unavailable (which would get in most teams in the championship) Mike Tresor, Foster, Benson, Redmond, Aaron Ramsey, Ekdal, Jordan Beyer, Delcroix, Sarmiento, Worrall Serious lack of decent forwards available after us selling a lot of star assets in the last week of the window (Amdouni, Odobert, Sander Berge etc). And our main match winners Koleosho and Lyle Foster are seriously out of form. The football is pragmatic, but I think there are a lot of mitigating factors at the moment, and the fans need to give Parker more time for us to find a new identity.
@@DroneRunner1975 His record in Belgium & the Netherlands was superb before joining Burnley, still think there's a player in there, especially for Championship level
As a QPR fan I have to say that Burnley was a hard team to score against. Considering that they had 70 pct possession of the ball, QPR really had to work hard to get a draw. QPR has not had a good run compared to Burnley who have had a great run so far. I just hope QPR can copy Burnley's form of play, we need to.
This does say something for QPR's defending as well - we were up against the cosh for this one , needed to steady the boat - had shades of QPR-Derby Play off final about it :)
Agreed, that's something that QPR need to get back to. Last season under Cifuentes you were one of the best defensive sides in the league, really resolute stuff this weekend 💪
I don't know why QPR fans are gaining confidence from this, you lot were shit, our striker was just as bad, A great ball got Flemming into a 1 on 1 and he headered it straight at your keeper, Headered it, it was dropping to his feet... if Flemming was a competent Footballer it would've been 4-0
Great Video! As a Burnley fan. It's quite clear to me that we often play with the seat belt on! We play with a compact midfield with very little flair and drive into the box. It's all a little safe! We tend to overly use Koleosho to create some magic but often he's doubled up on or he's a little erratic with his final ball! We miss that Drive from Sander Berge or even our CB Jordan Beyer who would push forward with the ball committing opposition players to break their positions. The Injuries have not helped, especially in the Striker position. Foster has been injured for a few games and has not really been firing this season. We have no real competition in that position as Flemming has been playing as a 9 which he clearly isn't one and plays much better as a 10. We have J-Rod who unfortunately does not have the legs and a player called Hontoundji who again looks uncomfortable ( Not given much chance I may add though). Burnley needs to take the hand break off and stop playing two Defensive-minded midfielders, especially at home! Lots of teams already know the Blueprint to get something from Burnley this season and that's to allow Burnley to have the ball and play a low block with the hope a counter or lucky break falls for them. Under VK in the championship, we played without fear played quick intricate passes and had plenty of individual brilliance in Tella, Benson, Zaroury etc ... I do feel we will get the recipe right eventually. let's remember these players have not had a pre-season together and all came into the team after 3-4 games! So we have to give some credit! Maybe we were spoilt under VK that our bar is set too high and BFC fans are wanting the sexy, fluid football we had back then! We have players like Redmond, Tresor, Benson & Aaron Ramsey all to come back and I think that will be key, especially in the forward options! I'm sure it will eventually Click! It's got to do! 😬😬
Burnley fan here. We desperately need a new striker. Foster isn't good enough (he's injured at the moment anyway). Our other options in that position are Jay Rodriguez (who is now passed it at age 35) and Hountondji who simply isn't good enough from what we've seen. Flemming is a great player but is best played in the no.10 position than an out and out striker. We're missing that cutting edge in attack. Defensively though we have been brilliant and in my opinion Esteve is the best CB in the championship.
Flemming was dogshit I was at the game and I was genuinely thinking he had to come off since the 55th minute. nope, he stayed on the whole 90 and his performance only got worse.
I am a Burnley fan who went to the QPR game yesterday. I feel it was an improvement on the midweek game at Hull and we need to credit QPR's brilliant defensive performance. However it is extremely frustrating to watch. They look great and control the game defensively and in midfield but when they reach the penalty area they look like they've never met and are afraid to shoot. Feels like they just keep trying the same things over and over. No plan B. Connor Roberts had 2 great chances to score and had they gone in it would be a completely different conversation. Fine margins as they say. Having said that I am not too concerned yet, it's a long season and we are 2nd in the league currently.
This sounds extremely similar to what Parker did with us and Fulham. Always seems to get a very talented squad for the Championship but plays extremely safe and bland football. No idea why he’s always so rigid with the quality at his disposal. Keep it up with the good videos Ben!
Nothing at all is going wrong at Burnley... we're second, we've not even started playing well going forward yet. The quality in this league is pish, we'll be Champions come may.
If you ever want to talk to a Burnley fan I'd be more than happy to reach out to you Ben. I have family from Preston and a soft spot for PNE so it'll be an unbiased conversation. I think Burnley need to click. Whatever Parker wants to do, in terms of his attack, it doesn't seem very clear. The lads seem confused when in the final third and they're crossing it into the box for nobody to be there or tripping on each others feet, or quite often, nobody is there. And for anyone slagging off Hountondji, let's just remember that Parker hasn't played him in his natural position, he's just scored 2 on international duty and he's got 21 G/A involvements last season. So why don't we give him a go? Because Foster looks gone.
It does seem crazy that we as Burnley fans are complaining whilst being sat second in the table. As Ben pointed out we aren’t creating enough chances. We have a crazy injury list with at least 10 players out. Scott Parker was dealt a bad hand with the club selling half the squad so late in the transfer window, leaving not much time to replace them. I can’t believe we didn’t get an out and out striker before the window closed, this has to be a priority when it opens again in January. Then I think we’ll show just how good we can be.
