Also, you should go back anyway, cause you missed the cargo bay area. Bottom floor of Ship, go around the right side to the back end, you will see it, and you can get in and LOOT for a few non food items stashed there. YAY I found my choice base One location. Can not wait to play, myself. Seriously fun looking game.

Tons of canned food and bottled water, tons of steel tools, tons of easy meds and magazines, even some easy books, and zombie-free... hell, you could do all your building on the beach and have the ocean at your back so you know exactly where the zombies are coming from. If I ever play this game, I know where I'm having my first base! :)
Kage - I know your stated reasons for throwing the coffee beans, but they do give valuable cooking skill XP if nothing else. They also give hydration and stamina regen when brewed into coffee (1 jar beans + 2 water in the top of the camp fire with a cookpot) - which is ideal for activities like mining in the caves.
Maybe my logic is flawed... but you're not wasting an aluminum re-canning the food. You'd need to use an aluminum to can a new meal anyway. You just saved yourself all the work of putting the meal together. If it's that or let it go to waste.
On the right side of the ship is a big ship door that is opened. It's below the railings. You can get into it and it has more loot boxes. From my experience, it gave me mostly injections. Another tip for players is the magazine extensions for the weapons. If you find a mag extender, check the model number on it. Mod 1 will let you carry 35 rounds in your weapons. Mod 2 will let you carry 45 rounds in your weapons.
Hoard base possibility. Accidently queued up an Asian Playthrough, and the guy used one of the Stop N Rob stores to build. Squat building that's fenced in already on three sides, and has a flat roof. He had stairs up to roof, and was building on top as well. One such location also has a car to claim there in back, where you'd put your stairs. Great idea, huh?
I play Scum. When I start a new save my first priorities are a hiking backpack and a vehicle. That will allow me to go to where I need to go to for things like guns and food a lot easier. I've been watching your videos and Mace Blade's videos to get me ready to play the game.
I just did this boat the other day, ridiculous amount of food on it, no zombies, and they cant really get up that well, I think 1 managed to jump up as it was horde night when I got on it lol WORD ! oh and stop missing stuff on the ground on purpose !!! LMAO
That obviously looks like an Aid Ship that came into port with food and medical supplies but where is the crew. Either they all left the ship and dies or were infected but the odd thing is that a ship is never left unattended, so that that there should have been either survivors on the ship or survivors that became zombies, not a ghost ship. I guess that there was no way that they could spawn them in just once so you had to clear the left over brew and the after that the ship would stay empty. Then again there is a report that the last update actually has brought back an old bug of very few zombies spawning, so when that gets fixed again you may find places that seem empty to suddenly have occupants again. The other option with canned goods, except for when you need o take food with you is just let it sit spoiled on the shelves and cook it right before eating and it will be fresh again. Only recooking spoiled canned food and the recanning it being necessary when you need to take some cans with you on a long run away from home.
How does one get on board with the Kage crew? I've never seen Zombies on the ship. Tonnes of Virus block, plus penicillin, and adrenaline. In regards to the water bottles, I just drink out of the bottles I find, rather than allow my canteens to take wear and tear. Then just chuck them away! The ship wold be a good place for a base on it or near by it for sure! Where is the Hospital at? Some ladders don't ascend on the ship, but you can go to the very top of it! Sorry Miser, I'm with Kage, coffee is a waste of space! I wish you could fit the car with extra packs, maybe use "E", to get in and sit, and/or "F", on the individual doors so you could store an extra 3 or 4 packs per door of the car, I think a hoarding car in the apocalypse isn't necessarily a bad idea? Or a White Van, or Ice Cream truck, lol! Maybe they should incorporate a bunker freezer as well, as there are so many components around to build it, now they just seem to be getting in the way, for the most part.
I also have a problem of you disposing of coffee. You are a heathen for doing so. I love coffee, my favorite so far is the black silk form lodgers, and yes I drink it straight black.

The small car is not worth mentioning. I remembered where i found one while exploring and went on foot half of map to get it and i dont like it -- sometimes it gets even slower on road than pickup off road
And I was wrong the sedan is fastest by 3mph it has top speed of 75 hatchback is 73 but handles like a dream also u should turn zombie spawn up to 50 its what I have it on its great
I just bought the game and so far have only tried the tutorial. Is there boards in the tutorial for practicing building? My main question though is about the boat. Can you build spike traps behind it and stand on it for horde night? Maybe I'm wrong but, if you build your base beside the boat then just leave the food where it is and only take what you need. Wouldn't it last longer that way?
@@flash1259 well u can put traps and such on the graound at the boat and stand on the boat for indestructable protection. but theres risk they jump up. and about the food in uninspected boxes i do not believe they go bad. but u never know what in the boxes then =) and for tutorial, go no hoard and minimal enemies, make a spear for the few zombies u can meet.
@@avrande So if you inspect the box it starts the food degrading even if you don't move it? I'll have to check the tutorial again. I don't remember what settings I can change. I may try the boat. I like to build around water. Looks like a good area for looting and getting a vehicle. As far as boards in the tutorial am I missing something or are they not in the tutorial? knife/disassemble command....I think. Use how-ever-many "fruits" or harvestables you want to turn back into seed for future supply.

Building near the Ship is as OK as building on the Ship. Ship location is great location, hands down.
