If all goes well and those guys are experienced and fit for the next world cup it feels like the triple is on.
Thank you. It is a scary thing to say, but in 5 to 10 years time, that Bok depth is going to be twice as impressive. There is currently a revolution of youth/school rugby in SA which we have only started seeing coming through. It is so impressive that I have been watching schoolboy rugby over URC recently. Not just physicality and skill, but more importantly mental toughness and never-say-die.
As a Saffa we mustn't write off the Welsh. We always struggle Gainst them for some reason. The game will be tight. I'm hoping some of the newbies put up their hand for the Irish tests.
We struggle because they play an almost identical system to ours - or at least did for many years. This is the same system that England adopted in the World Cup semi, and we all know how that turned out. I expect another tight game determined by fine margins. I don't think we'll see the influence of Brown and a new attacking philosophy for some time - it wouldn't even be wise to reveal our hand so early in the World Cup cycle.

Wild to see south Africa progress over the last 20 years. From arguably low down on the list of tier 1 countries, to indisputably the best and deepest roster in the world. Truly a joy to see, from a former springboks detractor (Bakkies era thuggery when I first started watching the sport soured it for me)
Thanks for your awesome content as always, very excited for this side, never disrespect your opposition! Rassie is being respectful and rightfully cautious, I would like to have seen Morne Van Der Merwe get a chance.
6:44 Nope, I thought Masuku would start to be fair. This is a nice blend from Rassie of experienced plus new blood. Remember number of these guys play in Japan so need game time before Ireland test. The crazy thing for me is the players that aren’t available and still to add to this bunch: Siya, Libbok, Am, Pollard, lood Wiese, Kitchoff, Arendse, Willemse, Moodie
The talent in this team is undeniable, but I do think we have struggled in the past with getting the players to play with fluidity and chemistry. Wales are a tough side, and I expect them to bring the fight.
@@lmarislmarislmaris4271 Evan Roos used to be a penalty / card magnet, but has tightened up his game in the last year or so. He also gets less cards than Wiese and even Esterhuizen has sat out 11 odd weeks for two red cards. Support the team, boet, even if you don't like the player. We have to trust Rassie knows what he is doing - after all I think we can say he has proven himself so far lol.
Awesome video - glad I came across your channel! As a Bok supporter, I am super excited by this squad. So much talent, pace and skill! One thing - I do hope Rassie has communicated clearly to Manie Libbok about his position. It's a bit odd that as the most senior flyhalf, he isnt even in the matchday 22. Im not saying he should be - as his kicking is nowhere near good enough, but not sure why he was selected in the squad then. So I hope he's been given a clear mandate as to what he needs to focus on to improve, because he's definitely talented! Otherwise - super exciting! Thanks mate.
I think Manie may be struggling a bit with his mentality. He obviously has the talent, but I think the situations can make him a little more nervous than he'd like when kicking in big games.
@@chris5240 Agree! He needs to be backed (not necessarily put in the matchday 22, but told what he needs to do to improve etc.) - and I'm pretty sure Rassie will do that! The other talented flyhalves in the squad may also help him improve his game!
Great show - thanks Tim. Let’s hope they play good rugby and don’t go in too gung-ho or take it lightly! There’s no guarantee of the result and I’d hate it if they went in just assuming they will win!

Yes it’s a exciting team and I can’t wait to see what they can do! You said Boks by 30….. Maybe I got too much respect for Wales and Gatland, SA v Wales are always good battles! So I do think it will be a bit closer than people think!
The Springboks are stacked in every position, with amazing depth. I dont think there was ever a time were the boks had this influx of talented players all at the same time. The boks can have 3 squads with all world class players easy. What a job for Rassie when he has all the players available and fit. 🇿🇦
So glad you mentioned Masuku... I have really high hopes for that chap. He's very exciting and has great awareness. Hopefully he gets his debut soon. *edit* - I really hope Masuku is chosen on the match day team for Ireland... I think Rassie is keeping his cards close to his chest for the moment... but we'll see.
Rassie said that the Stormers players had effectively only been practicing with the team for two days when the team was picked. That may have influenced the fly half decision, I think.

If you're traveling through Sandton City Mall in Jo'burg on a Tuesday or weekend, pull into the Breitling Boutique for a "refreshment" on the house. Enjoy die gees at the matches and have a lekka time in Sunny South Africa! 🔥😎
Wild to see south Africa progress over the last 20 years. From arguably low down on the list of tier 1 countries, to indisputably the best and deepest roster in the world. Truly a joy to see, from a former springboks detractor (Bakkies era thuggery when I first started watching the sport soured it for me)
Deep insightful comments like these are exactly why I watch this channel!
We appreciate your analysis Tim..much love brother❤❤
Really enjoy your humor Tim😁👍🏼
Never knew you had such a connection to South Africa. Welcome to our fold. 🎉
Thanks for your awesome content as always, very excited for this side, never disrespect your opposition! Rassie is being respectful and rightfully cautious, I would like to have seen Morne Van Der Merwe get a chance.
Love this channel. Keep up the great work Tim.
Hi Tim Welcome to South Africa Safe travels .
6:44 Nope, I thought Masuku would start to be fair.
This is a nice blend from Rassie of experienced plus new blood. Remember number of these guys play in Japan so need game time before Ireland test.
The crazy thing for me is the players that aren’t available and still to add to this bunch:
Siya, Libbok, Am, Pollard, lood Wiese, Kitchoff, Arendse, Willemse, Moodie
The talent in this team is undeniable, but I do think we have struggled in the past with getting the players to play with fluidity and chemistry. Wales are a tough side, and I expect them to bring the fight.
What a stacked team!!! Love that esterhuizen is starting. Evan roos to play the entire game?
Jordan hendrikse its time to shine.
Evan Roos will pick up a card or two so he'll be off the field at some point.
Hi Tim safe travels to SA..you will be most welcome...there are still many more players for Rassie to see that the world havent seen yet......
What an era for the springboks ❤
Hope more new talents get opportunities to play this year. So exciting!
Glad you visiting South Africa... Luv your chanal.
Love this channel's insight. Always on point. World class stuff
Probably our fastest loose trio ever
RAPID!
So much for boo hoo no more scrums.
Another spot on vid! You understand SA rugby just like we do :) Enjoy your trip out here!
Tim really enjoy your channel. Hope you enjoy SA. I am sure you will. Best wishes David
Love this video! If were Rassie id invite Tim arpund for a coffee ro discuss rugby.
Clearly the product of amazing parents and upbringing 🇿🇦
Looking forward to some hilarious try celebrations from Van der Merwe.
Great show - thanks Tim. Let’s hope they play good rugby and don’t go in too gung-ho or take it lightly! There’s no guarantee of the result and I’d hate it if they went in just assuming they will win!
Tim our Booooy...!!🤘 like our team a lot.. but we cant underestimate Wales... they have a great recent record against us...but still, some exciting talent! Like Jordan Hendrikse a lot!!
Looking forward to watching some of the new faces play at Twickenham this weekend. PSDT captain is great news, what a player!
Wales have in the past been a bogey team for us taking us close in World cups but feeling confident that this weekend they going to perhaps has a cricket score posted against them.
Fiji Ba Ba’s is going to be good as well.
Love this video.
did not see jordan happening but we hope for the best...he has a lot of potential to grow into a well rounded fly half. on the other hand our wings and full back is a great choice.
Some knob commented on a post I made about boks being an exciting team saying and I quote “there is nothing exciting about the boks”. Well well well good sir. Have a look and weep. This team selection surprised and excited me. I can’t wait for the weekend. GO BOKKE!
Tim,
Enjoy the channel.
Always fair to us.. We often get a raw deal.
Please watch out for Sacha. This guy is the real deal if he avoids injury, and hopefully will play at 10 in the future
Boks under Rassi haven’t been putting up big scores, more about getting the job done. Don’t see such a big points difference, unless new Attack coach is being given a free rein.
Really enjoying the episodes Tim, would be happy to pay for this high quality content!
Can't wait to see you Tim, you my fav Englishman 😂, much respect my guy, keep up the good work
Really happy for BJD and Sacha!
Both class players
My personal favourate test. Wales always brings it and usually a very close game. They play a very similar game to us. Love it!
Will follow you Through.Have a super safe trip. Blessings.
Always love a test against Wales. Like the way they play. Love the humor Tim. 😅😂
Hiya Tim. You are getting better and better at this gig.
Regarding the outcome, I feel good about our team. I also think you hit a nerve re: Tony Brown influence. The man is one of the smartest out there.
The outcome. I always (and trust me a lot of my compadres), are quietly nervous of the Welsh. Tough bastards that always front up. Notwithstanding their recent turmoils.
Go Bokke...can't wait for you to come to SA and experience our gees
Yes it’s a exciting team and I can’t wait to see what they can do! You said Boks by 30….. Maybe I got too much respect for Wales and Gatland, SA v Wales are always good battles! So I do think it will be a bit closer than people think!
Tim....just to need to commend you for nailing those pronounciations💪🏼😂 from a Saffer.. superb...
The Springboks are stacked in every position, with amazing depth. I dont think there was ever a time were the boks had this influx of talented players all at the same time. The boks can have 3 squads with all world class players easy. What a job for Rassie when he has all the players available and fit. 🇿🇦
Tim, you are appreciated sir!
Love this channel. Must be noted that Wales is more often than not an arm wrestle. We can't be complacent against them.
Enjoy your stay in SA!
PS - we should find you sponsors for steak, chops, wors, and Bok paraphernalia every time you visit 😂
As a South African. We never underestimate Wales. They are a nation with massive fight in them. They won't and don't go away. Going to be a great game. Excited for the new players coming through.
