Been a Nottingham Forest supporter ever since I got introduced to English football. Being from Sweden I always get weird looks when I tell people that Forest is my team, and I couldn't care less. We are Forest, we rule supreme.
Nottingham has such a strong connection with the history of football, not just in England but Italy as well. Oldest professional clubs in the world with Notts County (formerly) and Nottingham Forest Juventus’ famous black and white stripes come from Notts County Arsenal wearing red comes from Nottingham Forest AC Milan was founded by a Nottsman, Herbert Kilpin Would love to see a documentary about this, as I view Nottingham (along with Sheffield) as the birthplace of the beautiful game, professionally at least.

Nottingham forest did a tour in my country (Argentina) way back in the early 20 century and beat all the local teams in what the time newspapers sayed that was a football lesson for all. Since then, my team Independiente adopted the red kit because of Nottingham and still using it to this day, in fact, we are localy called 'Los rojos' (the reds). Thanks Nottingham for this beautyfull colorurs and you will always have a special place in My heart 🇦🇹❤️

The passion of British people is very large. It's not a passion because victories and trophies, but is of family or city where they live. It's amazing! And have fanatics fans in teams of championship or still lower leagues. Fantastic!
The day Nothingham Forest return to the Premier League I believe it's going to be the happiest day in football, I don't see anyone not being happy if it happens
I'll start by saying that I'm an Arsenal fan so there's no question of a bias here, just honest thoughts. Nottingham Forest are everyone's second favourite club, ok maybe not literally everyone but there is a lot of warmth for them and everyone I know wants to see them back up in the big time. They're a club that has, in my opinion, earned the title of "a big club", far more than the likes of some that are given it! I'll argue that between 1975 and 1980, Nottingham Forest achieved the most outstandingly insane and utterly impossible miracle ever seen in football! Impossible, yet it happened. From halfway down division 2 to double European Cup winners in 5 years!!! When you allow yourself to dwell on that rather than just saying it as statistical fact, the enormity of it starts to sink in and it's truly mindblowing!! Nothing like that will ever happen again, even with some clubs being as awash with money as they are. What Forest did was very little to do with money and everything to do with a genius! Now everyone knows that Brian Clough was a genius, and I don't forget Peter Taylor in the story, but I often find that what people don't know is that he wasn't just a mouthy bugger that scared people into performing. First of all, that's impossible, if they'd been scared of him at a deep level they never could have achieved so much and secondly, he didn't just talk the talk, he'd been a great player too, averaging something like a goal every other game over his whole career, sadly cut short. I'll say it again, arguably the greatest achievement over a given period of time in the history of football. Promotion, league champions, European champions twice, cup victories and a record breaking unbeaten run!! Absolutely staggering!! And also, we all loved the fact that in achieving all of this, Cloughie stuck a very firm two fingers up at Leeds! This is why people have a very warm soft spot for Nottingham Forest!! Hope you get up this year, boys and girls, looking forward to seeing you at The Emirates soon!
For me it's the very name Nottingham Forest that has such a deep link into the history of the game that's so understated, and that's what I really like about the club, when people talk about sleeping giants I think it's just related to money in today's game, but Forest have a permanent footprint in the beginnings of football

Now you are back in the EPL :) Hope in one day you will make it back to european coups where this team belongs. Maybe one day Steaua will meet Nottingham :)
Matt of Forza is being very modest here. What they've done (and continue to do) is nothing short of magnificent. Through the recent years of disappointment, they've been something to believe in and be proud of.
i knew what was Nottingham Forest but I never knew their history knew about brian clough because of Roy keane but the impact is far greater than I thought and when I see these supporters I get to know the importance of fans and what as a city one stands for
Forest has always been one of those teams I've liked for some reason even before I learned about Clough and their European success as a kid I just liked the crest and the kits.
As a Fenerbahce Turkish fan amazed how big club Forest was and feeling heart broken by where they’re now. But I do feel the spirit of winning the champions league come as soon as they are in the premier league and wishing them winning the premier league and also the champions league would mean remaking the history of football again. Best of luck in the feature and always stand beside your great team and support them. Greetings from Fenerbahce Fan 🇹🇷💛💙
oscar silva Man City are no where near. Very few people wholeheartedly say It support Man City’. At the end of the day, they are a club filled with plastic, nowhere as many true fans as Forest and Villa. P.s where’s your Champions League?
Goosebumps at the end! Amazing job done Copa and what an amazing football club. Never knew anything about them, just heard of them bc of the two European Cups. @@davidvasey5065 What's so wrong with that? In an era where other clubs overspend & break FFP rules, why do people look down on clubs like WBA for being sensibly run & realistic about their expectations. WBA deserve more respect, but they don't because they're not from a big city or from a fashionable part of the country.
@@davidvasey5065 Sorry, but that's absurd!! Firstly, scoring from set peices is a legitimate part of the game, so if you're good at it, like WBA were under Tony Pulis, they why not use it? Secondly, in those 8 years, WBA had over 8 different managers, therefore it's wrong to suggest they played unattractive football all the time. Do Spurs play the same way under Mourinho as they did under Pochettino? No. Lastly, WBA under Bilic have played some excellent football this season & are the Championship's top scorers. They've scored more than Leeds & a lot more than Forest.
@@wamp7 Honestly I'm a little surprised Norwich have struggled so much in the PL, as they were excellent in the Championship last credit. Credit to them for sticking with Farke's philosophy & keeping faith with the younger players who got them promoted. Even if they go down, i'd expect them to be fighting for promotion again next season.
Nice video. Thought we were just going to get the thousandth rehash of the Brian-Clough-two-European-Cups story, but very few have focused on the post-Clough era. My best mate is a Forest fan and i've lived and worked in the city, so interesting to see a focus on that side of it, good work.

I remember beating forest in the 91 cup final and they were the better team on the day, had a great side keane, Pearce and one of the most underrated defenders in English football in des walker
And let's never forget Brian Clough's words... "the happiest days of my managerial career were at Derby"! Said on 20th January 1991 (while still Forest manager) while attending Derby's game against Tottenham.

PNE fan with a huge respect for Forest. Proper football club with proper fans, a proper ground and proper history, rather see you go up this season than the other parachute payment lot. I went to a Mansfield game this season and sat behind Nigel Clough’s dugout and it struck me just how like Brian he is. No-nonsense, sometimes brutal, but always up for a laugh.

Forest is such an iconic club, man. I became a fan as kid in like, 1992 during the tail end of Clough’s time there. He was this mythical character to me (still is!) Still remember getting a Panini sticker or card of Nigel Clough in the Forest kit and being like, “oh cool! That’s the manager’s son!” 😁 I’m especially fond of the team that finished 3rd in the mid 90’s with that Labbats logo on the shirt 😀 - Seeing em play in Europe… really good team. We’ll be back in the Prem one day!

As someone who started watching football in the late 1970s, while not a Nottingham Forest their title win in the late 70s was one of the real high points of that time. The thing that struck me watching them back then(and Leicester more recently), they where outstanding at what they did, there have been better teams, hell the Liverpool side at that time would think so to be sure, but they did what they did so well week in week out. Personally I really look forward to seeing them in the top flight again
I think the video captures everything football can be at its very best in the UK, family is very much at the heart of this football club, it’s an incredibly important football club just in the development of the modern game, the fans know when we visit the City Ground
Congratulations lads! I'll definitely come over to watch a match of you at City Ground. Wishes from Germany 🇩🇪 history connects - Nottingham & Hamburg 🟥⬜️🟦⬛️
As an American, I decided a while ago that this is my team. It may seem stupid, but I’ve always been drawn to Nottinghamshire due to family background. I’m a 16th generation American (no kidding) but I can trace my last English-born ancestor to a village called Scrooby in Nottinghamshire. He was born in the late 1500s and was on the second voyage of the mayflower. Regardless, I just think this club is cool and the history is great.

The bloke who said the Championship wasn’t one of the best leagues and football clubs shouldn’t be run by ego-maniacs, is a very wise man
Rob Gru I like the championship but it’s unpredictable as fuck
He's a well known comedian called Matt Forde and an anti- Corbyn labour supporter. Make of that what you will
I like Championship football too. Premier League would be better but as second best it's not bad at all.
Pretty special this. Special club, special people, special film. Love it.
too bad The Specials are from coventry...
Holy shit that was fantastic. Brilliantly done. God bless those Forest fans I hope you guys get promoted this year.
City ground is one of the best grounds I’ve watched a match in. the last time I went, my team got battered 4-0 but was still a good day out
Hello from a Steaua Bucharest fan! I used to red about Nottingham Forest success in UCL when i was a kid. A team very well know in Romania. A great team with a great history. Now you are back in the EPL :) Hope in one day you will make it back to european coups where this team belongs. Maybe one day Steaua will meet Nottingham :)
That Brian Clough...what a genius!
Best coach ever, hands down.
Greetings from Italy.
My great uncle john played for Forrest and this just puts into context how immense the achievements were, super John ohare
Yeah the badge is iconic like the coca cola logo
As a Fenerbahce Turkish fan amazed how big club Forest was and feeling heart broken by where they’re now. But I do feel the spirit of winning the champions league come as soon as they are in the premier league and wishing them winning the premier league and also the champions league would mean remaking the history of football again. Best of luck in the feature and always stand beside your great team and support them. Greetings from Fenerbahce Fan 🇹🇷💛💙
I’m here from 2022. The story has changed 👊🏻
2024 here. Forest still holding on to the Premier League (as I'm sure you're aware).
As a Villa fan I've always had an affection for Forest
A real club who I hope will come up this season
man city bigger than both clubs
But if Forrest go up you won’t be playing then next season 😂
adam eames Nice one buddy
oscar silva Man City are no where near. Very few people wholeheartedly say It support Man City’. At the end of the day, they are a club filled with plastic, nowhere as many true fans as Forest and Villa. P.s where’s your Champions League?
@@oscarsilva2548 you wouldn’t be nothing without your russian billionaire 😂
Would love to see them go up to the Premier League. Classic club with lots of passion. From a LFC fan.
Goosebumps at the end! Amazing job done Copa and what an amazing football club. Never knew anything about them, just heard of them bc of the two European Cups. Such a good description not just of Forest but of the whole football community (in clubs with a heart)!! Loved it! Greetings from south Germany :)
Love from the U.S. to forest ❤️
A great and legendary club Nottingham Forest, with an amazing atmosphere in the stadium in every match. Respect from Russia.
Thank you brother
I'm 8 minutes in and this is friggin gold!!! What a doc.
And no I'm definitely not a forest fan.
Been a few times as an away fan.
Probably most famous for the hooters bar now. I'm sure you'll be back. Rite back to watch the rest now, amazing 👏
This is brilliant, proper well filmed. My great grandad Andy Beattie managed the mighty reds 1960-1963. He'd be proud. Nice one Copa90
Wow that's amazing having that link
Thank you for this film guys. Brilliant! Sums up what it means to be not just a Forest fan, but a football fan. Loved it.
NFFC fan from Mexico and i really hope one day we can play on the premier again, even though today we're struggling a little and barely getting on track i hope this season could be the one, VAMOS NOTTINGHAM!!!
Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and West Brom are the clubs I want to go up to the Premier League
MadeinBrum89 what about Norwich? Built a team on free transfers and spent £1.5m when we got into the prem
@@wamp7 Norwich are already in the Prem. I want them to stay because of Cantwell but it's not going to happen.
I’m a Chelsea supporter from Australia, but have relatives in Nottingham (my first football merchandise as a 6 year old was a Forest Scarf 😂) I was only there a few months ago, they’re absolutely buzzing at how their team is looking at the moment. I really hope they get back to the Premier League where they belong.
I remember beating forest in the 91 cup final and they were the better team on the day, had a great side keane, Pearce and one of the most underrated defenders in English football in des walker
"It'll be nice to have a manager who actually completes a season."
Coronavirus: *allow me to introduce myself*
NOTTINGHAM FOREST.....NOTTINGHAM FOREST FC.....WE'RE BY FAR THE GREATEST YOU'LL EVER SEE...............YOOOOOOU RRRRRREEEEDDSS!!!!!!!!!!!🔥🤩⚽️
I'm a Derby fan and even I enjoyed watching this, even the hatred of us lot 😂😂. Excellent job again guys 👍
And let's never forget Brian Clough's words... "the happiest days of my managerial career were at Derby"! Said on 20th January 1991 (while still Forest manager) while attending Derby's game against Tottenham.
@@sawleyram7405 I think both clubs were special to him. I don't think he preferred one over the other - both of them are his "children".
Forest v derby makes football special you need real rivalry in sport brian a legend to both clubs
@@sawleyram7405 tbh he wasn't a depressed alcoholic at Derby, he became one after Leeds
Sawley Ram did he win 2 European cups with you tho
Absolutely fantastically put together. Totally accurate showing of our connection with the club & city. Showing what it means to us die hard fans & our unwavering support for our club & large family! This is why we turn up every week, passion & our home. Genuine lump in throat!
Top class content, guys. Keep it comin'!

Would like to see u guys soon back in top flight and roaring in european nights... good luck
Brian Clough was a great manager, the film about him 'The Damned United' is a great watch
I have supported Nottingham Forest since 1978 , the great moments where i did watch the games with passion , Brian Clough is the greatest manager that Nottingham Forest did have in their history , i come from Mauritius and i shall support Nottingham Forest till my last day in life
Ever since I saw them winning the European Cup twice as a very very small kid I have a soft spot for Nottingham. Never been to the place but I intend to visit some day. I consider them my second team. Greetings from Basel.
What a special club with a special history and Mr clough absolute legend rest in peace sir
Wow ..!
What a lovely memorial piece of videos ...
I support Nottingham Forest since the age of 11 yrs , still I do ,now age 54 yrs ... my great time of passion ... the most memorable moment , of my life was, I write a letter to the Grreat late Brian, my big suprised, after, a month, replied,me with all players, autograph and annexed some documents ,concerning the club histories and badge 'Forest' involvments ... I kept this grey envelope letter as a treasure ,but due to bad ,weather,as cyclones, usually hits, Mauritius ,all were lost and destroyed , sad ,sad ..for me ..
I am happy to be a fan of this Bionic ,Great Team ... NOTTINGHAM FOREST ...From .Mauritius ...
The best club in England and the one I'll always, always will end up cheering for
I'm an Arsenal fan through and through thanks to my Dad, but always had a soft sport for Forest. I love English football and Forest are the epitome of an English football club for me. Everything about them from their stadium, to their supporters to the city they're from. All so English. Respect.
Every time you wear your red arsenal shirt you're doing it because of forest 💪
Forest is such an iconic club, man. I became a fan as kid in like, 1992 during the tail end of Clough’s time there. He was this mythical character to me (still is!) Still remember getting a Panini sticker or card of Nigel Clough in the Forest kit and being like, “oh cool! That’s the manager’s son!” 😁 I’m especially fond of the team that finished 3rd in the mid 90’s with that Labbats logo on the shirt 😀 - Seeing em play in Europe… really good team. We’ll be back in the Prem one day!
I'm teaching English in Vietnam, and watching this video is simply inspiring . I've been in Asia for four years with my 1985 Shipstones sponsored Forest top. Miss those Saturday games with a few pints in the TBI before the kick off.

What a great time to be recommended this documentary
currently in Asia studying and I am up EVERY single match day at 4 am to watch Forest play. I am from Nottingham, I am a Forest fan, I am Nottingham Forest. COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goosebumps - What a club x
I think the video captures everything football can be at its very best in the UK, family is very much at the heart of this football club, it’s an incredibly important football club just in the development of the modern game, the fans know when we visit the City Ground
Congratulations lads! I'll definitely come over to watch a match of you at City Ground. Wishes from Germany 🇩🇪 history connects - Nottingham & Hamburg 🟥⬜️🟦⬛️
Thank you brother. You’re welcome anytime
Hello from USA! Not sure how many others here love Forest but I'll have hope that people will recognize what an amazing club they are! ❤
Go Reds from Argentina
Forest supporter a portuguese local in Nottingham hope to see them on top of the world again fantastic club❤⚽️
COME ON YOU REDS
As an American, I decided a while ago that this is my team. It may seem stupid, but I’ve always been drawn to Nottinghamshire due to family background. I’m a 16th generation American (no kidding) but I can trace my last English-born ancestor to a village called Scrooby in Nottinghamshire. He was born in the late 1500s and was on the second voyage of the mayflower. Regardless, I just think this club is cool and the history is great.
same with me man, from south africa.
What a awesome awesome doco and much respect to one of the greatest football sides of the past what a team
Well in lads, brilliant documentary!
Not a Forest fan but it would be cool to see a historic club like this one return to the Top Flight someday!
