    I became fascinated with genetics in the mid nineties and have followed its developments with interest since. This video is a quantum leap to the latest gene reality for me and an encouragement to stay excited about science while watching it coming more and more in line with the Word of God.

      I have been studying DNA CELLS and BIOLOGY PHYSICS And SOLAR SCIENCES ERATH SYSTEMS PLATE TECTONICS SINCE 1987. Now I have been studing history the TORAH understanding the BIBLE. My thoughts are that it's not being interpreted correctly. The time line is wrong. I have a had time excepting Moses live to be 600 years old or Noah I'm sorry unless God made them superhuman. In which case we would see that in our DNA

    Orphan genes are the nail in the coffin of Darwinian evolution. Here is my understanding of what is going on with orphan genes:
    The theory of Darwinian evolution depends on two functions: speciation and mutation.
    Speciation is what occurs with natural selection and survival of the fittest. Speciation involves the natural function of genetic change - perfection in the gene copying process. The perfect copying of genes is what occurs the vast majority of the time. Speciation thus involves the propagation of the best among pre-existing genetic information.
    Mutation is what is necessary for the rise of a higher life form from its predecessor. Mutation involves the dis-function of genetic change - imperfection in the gene copying process. Mutated genes highly resemble the genes from which they were copied, because the only differences are the mistakes. Mutation would thus involve the introduction of new genetic information.
    Orphan genes are new genetic information that could not have involved mutation, because there is no gene that they resemble that they could have mutated from. Orphan genes, therefore, did not come from mutation, but, having new information, neither did they come from the genes of a lower life form. Orphan genes must have originated within a type of organism that was designed from the beginning. Many types of organisms have orphan genes. Thus, from its origination, life must have been designed in its full form by an intelligent designer.

      I have some level of empathy and understanding. my mutation leads to early dementia and ALS, and It is a similar type of mutation. Trust in God and in the end we will have a new fully functioning brain

    I looked up genbank stats, and where their stats are leveling off, there is WGS, by which genome data is still growing exponentially. Thanks for the nod to the Creator, orphan genes! Yet another reason we are without excuse - all of creation testifies to the truth and the goodness of God.

    SO IF A MONKEY HAS UNIQUE ORPHAN GENES...THEN IT CAN'T BE RELATED TO A HUMAN!!

    The Orphan Genes Narrative is a potential bombshell. ==> I ask that someone smarter than me advises me whether these operate in the standard coding segments, or whether they operate in the so-called "JUNK" DNA sections. My apologies if this question is poorly framed or otherwise ill-conceived.

    • @robertdunn1800
      @robertdunn1800 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While yes, there may be someone more educated in a certain area compared to you, that does not mean they are smarter than you. Education on a topic has nothing to do with being smarter than you - don't put yourself down for you may be more "smarter" in a certain area compared to someone else. And for the record, there aren't any "JUNK" DNA sections - it all serves a purpose.

      @@robertdunn1800 Thanks, Robert. Just tryin' to stay humble and inquisitive. I appreciate your remarks. I still wanna know if the Orphan Genes occur in classically-deemed non-coding regions. These zones were formerly called "Junk DNA", and I resented the arrogance of that designation from the very beginning. I regret using it, above.

      I know this is four years old but here goes. Genes in the dna are recognized by sequences that determine the start and finish of a gene. Thats all i know for sure. Grace

    Well chimps and humans had a common ancestor 25 million years ago. Humans and chimps share 20% of proteins and 98% of genes. When we came onto land we had to lose fur and adapt to the environment which explains why there are so many differences

    • @johnglad5
      @johnglad5 ปีที่แล้ว

      25 year old ancestor is philosophy. That 98% is wrong. 98 only takes into account protein making genes. The rest was assumed junk but recent research shows 98 if not more is with purpose. The main point Dr. Nelson makes is there is no mechanism to remove and add Orfan genes. We should observe new genes being added to the dna. There is absolutely no evidence of this happening. If evolution is true there should be 'junk' dna.

    HI
    I am amazed that ' Evolution' still has any traction at all seeing that you NEED DNA to MAKE DNA! And also, if all life started from one ' Primitive' organism, what did it eat? seeing only plants can photosynthesise sunlight for making sugar. Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua.

    Watch the neo-darwinian theorists scramble.
    Francis collins pushed back against paul nelson years ago on this issue. Said it was "less than 10% organisms...come back when its 50%."

    Actually there are times when a preacher of the good news has to defend his faith. So one that is preaching the good news of God's kingdom is also an apologetic as well. He doesn't say hey that isn't part of my role and ask an apologetic to do it for him. 1 Peter 3:15.
