Magic Product Review - Phoenix By Higar and Hanson Chien

  • Phoenix may be the best bill penetration and restoration released to date. You are able to actually puncture the dollar bill and then restore it back to its original state and hand it out to the spectator. There are no switches, no magnets, no gimmicked pens and the bill can be given to the spectator to keep. A real masterpiece.
    This is released through Theory 11 and can be found at most major magic retailers.

    Got it. Haven’t received it yet. How confident are you lighting wise in giving it out with just one gimmick rather than using two the way they recommend for a souvenir. Thx. Great review!

    • @fiddlinjonny
      @fiddlinjonny  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Brent, this may be one of the best questions so far. So this is my opinion and I suspect others will disagree with me. Theoretically I believe the tutorial is correct in that having two gimmicks on the bill should hide the method better than just one, but with that said I have not found my audience to notice that the most of mine are a single gimmick on the bill. And that is even under close inspection. So my personal preference is just one gimmick on the bill but if I intend to do the penetration twice on the same bill I would do that. I hope that helps and perhaps you already have the gimmicks in your hand at this point and can see what they look like on the bill. I hope that helps and thanks for asking a great question.

    Loved the fiddle tune Jonny and this review has whet my whistle to definitely purchase this if it eventually releases in UK banknote format, although all our banknotes in UK are becoming polymer now so might consider the Euro version .Cannot believe channel is in its 4 th year 😊

You are one of my first folks to comment on my reviews and so you hold a special place in my TH-cam journey and eternally grateful for your continued support. One of the things I did not realize when I started this channel was the number of new people I would meet through the chat who I now consider friends even though I have not met in person, and you are one of those folks. Always love hearing from you and grateful you are here. Take care my friend and now we look forward to the next four years and see where it all goes.

    Excellent Review Sir, can it be available in Indian Currency.

    • @fiddlinjonny
      @fiddlinjonny  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello Santosh, this is a good question and I can not say my answer is 100% accurate but I did a little research into what Indian paper money is made of and American currency and it appears that there is a lot of similarity in the materials used to make the paper money. So with that knowledge my Guess is that it would probably work. However I can not guarantee it. You might reach out to Hanson Chien's team and also ask them as they may have a better answer than I do. I do not know what the surface look and feel of the Indian Rupi is so I am not confident how well it would be hidden on the currency. I wish I could be of more help but that is my thoughts for now. Thanks so much for watching and asking. Have an awesome day.

      Hi Eric, Thanks for this comment because I must admit that after editing my video and watching my demo I too walked away with a feeling that there is a lot of time repairing that hole. I think I can probably make it a little faster but it is a moment where I think it loses some momentum. Thanks for the comment and I agree with you and is an astute observation. I don't think it will change from me not performing it but I will see if I can make some improvements from a performance perspective. Take care and thanks so much for being here and adding to the conversation.

      @fiddlinjonny  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      David you are correct that if you hand out the bill then yes it is $2.56 per performance. But when I perform this at gigs where there is a tip jar, I load up my tip jar with dollar bills that are already gimmicked. When someone comes over to my performance area I pull one of the bills out and perform it for them and then put the dollar back in the tip jar and they end up putting more money in my tip jar, so in essence I am making money every time I perform it but this will obviously not work for the casual performance. Thanks for making the point and it is well taken. Thanks for being here.

    Ignition does the same thing, a hole is put in the bill with a key, and you see it happen, the key is ripped out of the bill, and you see it happen, and the bill is handed out for inspection. No refills, the key will last forever, you get two keys, one normal one gimmick. No bad lighting, no bad angles.

    • @fiddlinjonny
      @fiddlinjonny  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Angel you may have brought up the best bill penetration and restoration plot that uses a different method but still the same effect. I must admit I love Chris Smith's Ignition release for all the reasons that you mention and is organic, everyday object approach. For the method that Chris has developed I think it is probably the best with his gimmick and method. But this uses a different method and is a real penetration of the bill. I think that has a slightly different effect on the spectator when they can really see that the bill is genuinely penetrated by the sharp object. I know it may be quibbling around the edges as to which is better. I would say at the end of the day our spectators probably have the same experience but with just different methods and then it just comes down to ones personal preferences. Thanks for leaving the comment and mentioning Chris Smith's product as I can not argue with you in that it is a great release, effect and method. Thanks for leaving the comment and adding to the conversation.
