I teach 4th grade & we do a class economy system. Kids fill out job applications, get references, are interviewed, hired, and are interns as they are trained. They have their career all year and can choose to resign with 2 weeks notice but must reapply for another available job. Most kids help each other but they are the masters of the task they are hired for. At the end of the year, they have a retirement party. Ive been doing this over 20 years with 4th graders & it is always the best memory they have 😊
I don’t do class jobs, I do assistants! Two students who do everything and it changes weekly. So easy to keep up with!
I teach 6th and 8th social studies! I also had a thought for your borders, you could photocopy one of your existing pieces to finish the board without having to buy more border and still have it match.
Photocopy the cow print, it works in a pinch like this! :)

I am moving to grade 1/2. I used to do class jobs but it was too much for me to keep track of so I now do a jr. Teacher. Each day it is a new student and they do all the jobs.

I'm a first year 1-6th grade EFL teacher! I switch classes so I get new kids/different grades every period, so I cannot do fun things like classroom jobs but I am so jealous!
I know you say the library rug stayed white, but it really didn’t. Rugs really should be cleaned using a carpet cleaner every couple months. There are so many gross germs that live on our sneakers.
Hi! I teach 6th in a co-teach class and we absolutely have jobs. The kids love them because it gives them ownership of the class and it’s less work for us! Lol
I teach 7th grade science. I have 3 class jobs that my big kids enjoy: Errand Runner, Paper picker upper, and Paper passer outter lol
I teach 3rd, the students really take pride in their class jobs!
In most state, 4th grade Social Studies is the studying of the state you live in. I noticed in most states, 5th grade Social Studies is colonial America, Revolutionary War. That's how it was in my old state. However, in my current state, 5th grade SS is the study of the Western hemisphere. Sixth grade SS us the study of the Eastern hemisphere.
I love the new set up, iʻm sure ur kids will appreciate. i especially enjoyed seeing that colorful map!
Btw, when I worked with kids they would get happy when I assigned them to duties like sweeping, wiping tables..
