In my opinion this Veronica has an amazing voice, but she played the character incredibly sweet. Her voice was high and shy, and it sounded more like a distorted Disney princess rather than a rebellious teenager 😅😅.
It takes incredible amounts of bravery to get up on that stage and perform this, but her voice is so gentle! She seems less like "iMmA FUCK yOu" and more soft spoken. Her voice is still beautiful though
Also, I like this version's interpretation of the "And you know you know you know it's cause you're beautiful" section; a lot of stagings have JD kind of get pulled in by Veronica's words like, "Whoa, she sees something in me; I'm in love!" And that's cool, but I find it interesting that this one looks more amused and dismissive towards the beginning, like, "Honey, you have no idea just how insane and twisted I am." Then after the line "In here it's beautiful", he laughs, like "If that's what you believe, I'm not going to tell you otherwise". Like, other versions make it a sort of "falling in love because she sees something in me" thing, but this one seems more like "it's adorable that you're missing the red flags; I'm gonna keep you" (adding even more meaning to the line "That works for me"). (The Kurt & Ram in this version are rly good tho)
