I had taken a hiatus from watching photography videos when I happened upon one of yours. You give up secrets most would keep to themselves…..because they work and they make sense. Thank you.
Second image again for me ticks all the boxes, beautiful light which subtlety separates the image a wonderful photo 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Ian your first image of the waterfall is first class “love it” for me everything about the photo is spot on the light the framing it just
works so well 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Wonderful Chanel Ian. Any chance of a video on how your set up Milanote its just what I have been looking for and am sure there are many others out there that would get further value and benefit from your great videos. Respect and Thanks for sharing.
Great suggestion!
I live for those fleeting moments. Ones that are so unique. Once captured rarely happen again. I love your work, keep it up
Thanks so much 👍👍
Thanks for the Milanote tip. I'd like to shout but I'll keep my voice down: I love it and this is what I've been looking for for AGES! Ah, the joy. Planning photoshoots, but also planning our holidays, and planning my sewing ideas... bliss. Hehe, sorry. I really like your videos too, if you're wondering. Yes, I love those fleeting moments, those special conditions, that make you sort of jump with joy. Or talk to yourself.
Thanks Ian, your video was a reminder for me to use Photo Pills more and to take a look at MS Notes for some Pre-Planning. We have been receiving a lot of varied Winter weather lately from snow to rain so I have mostly been running and gunning. I need to plan more for an efficient day.
Nothing wrong with run and gun, but planning well for longer trips really helps get the most from them👍
Superb video Paul. Like the format and the images were excellent.
Glad you enjoyed it, its Ian though 😂
Sorry Ian not sure where Paul came from, old age!
Hi Ian. Thanks for another inspiring video. I am only just getting into photography and have a trip planned for Kilorglin in southern Ireland. I'm super excited about going, and your video on planning has helped loads. Thanks, buddy.
Beautiful images you captured on this video much like all your others, great tips and examples regards to planning out photo trips for best results, thank you, will give milanote a test run.
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
Wow, you are really organized! I can why that Milanote is right for you and will check it out. Good tip on how to line up the fence posts in the composition!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing Ian. I particularly enjoy your taking us through your deliberate approach to composition. I have to remind myself to slow down and look for the important ingredients. What stays and what has to be left out can be so very important. Unfortunately, all too often I get home only to find elements I missed, because I was distracted by something else.🤪
Many thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos 👍
Fantastic video, thank you for your time and detailed information
My pleasure!
Love your channel Ian and thanks for the heads up on Milanote. I’m in Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey for another few days so I’ll keep a lookout for a fellow photographer also wearing a wooly hat. The light is incredible when the clouds lift off the mountains and the beaches on Anglesey are at times wild and beautiful, often both at the same time!
That's awesome, hope you have a great time in Snowdonia
Very nice and informative video here.
Also some really fine photos.
On the B&W one towards the end -- I´m not sure, but for me the 2 standing posts there kind of make the composition a bit less convincing -- perhaps repositioning your standpoint would have improved ? And somehow it screams for at least Mid-Format b&W film-photography !
I couldn't agree more and that was exactly what i was thinking whilst editing the shot, i think the posts are more of a distraction than anything else.
Tips graag!
What camera were you using to film the walking talking part in the beginning of the video? The footage was so smooth haha was it the pocket 3?
dji osmo action 4 👍
Amazing work my friens, loved!
Thank you! Cheers! 🙏😊
This doesn't have to be a lot of effort either. It can be as simple as checking the weather when you have a week-long holiday. It's probably something you're doing anyway, but yeah, if you're going to be at (e.g.) Zion National Park and you're a photographer, you need to be there when light is still hitting the canyon and when it isn't forecast to be overcast if that is what you want to avoid.
Very true! 👍
Wonderful videos and photos, thank you for making them. I think in one of your videos you mentioned a sun tracking app you used. If so would you share that with us? Thank you.
In case Ian doesn’t get round to replying, I think it’s PhotoPills but I might be wrong
Thank you, Yes Photo pills 👍
Great, Thank you. @@ian_worth
