- Today, we take a look at a scenario where Rome returns modern day. The Roman Empire was one of the largest empires in history, and one of the strongest as well. What would happen if they reclaimed their European and African borders in the modern day? Rome would undoubtedly be a threat to the world, as it would claim a lot of valuable land and countries. Countries like France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey would cease to exist. With this, Rome would look to expand its borders further into Europe, threatening any remaining countries. England and Scotland’s borders are actually slightly different to that of Romes. As the Roman border runs along Hadrian’s Wall, which was built by the Roman to keep the Scots out. If we used the Roman borders, Scotland would actually be much larger, taking much of England’s North East.
However, their modern day border runs via the River Tweed which is a more diagonal than straight split across the two. Figured I’d just say this, didn’t mean this in an angry way or anything lol

However, I was just referring to modern England in country size. Obviously Scotland would still be a small country, however it’d be more close now

2 small mistakes were made here.
Firstly, the border between England and Scotland is located above Hadrian's wall so the border is not the same as 2000 years ago.
Secondly, France actually captured Moscow in 1812, but Russia refused to surrender.
Other than that it was an entertaining video.

Why does the Roman empire with modern day equipment scare me
As weird as this sounds , this might chill out some conflicts pretty easy , like Serbia and Kosovo, because after all no one will bother fighting with literally the 4th country by population . Also , using all technology possible , the 2023 Roman Empire will rise it's GDP a lot because of the control on the mediteranean sea .
