I don’t understand why this guy never made it big. Probably too modest, ethical, and self effacing. Today he has gained back most of the weight and lost most of the hair and is working small clubs in towns like Ogden Utah that make this gig look like the big time.
Thanks for posting this! I also have the "bootleg" VHS (somewhere) - was on repeat for awhile. Was a big Bob Zany fan, and I I saw him perform @ The Aku-Aku in Worcester, MA back in the 90's. Met him briefly - very cool guy, BAY-BEE!
bob long time I remember a time when I was a junior and you were a senior on the West Covina Spartans football team Anyways we would have team dinner at a restaurant on game night i remember being seated with you and a couple of other team mates I was 17 and I knew we had to be focused But you did a comedic routine at our table I can never forget to this day One of them involved your impersonation of a tampon commercial utilizing your complimentary bread with your glass of water Stunning But apparently not with the coaches I sill laugh my ass off to this day

I enjoyed his set so much I wanted to see his older stuff having no idea how long he had been in stand up comedy so I found this video. Thanks. I would ask why he's not a bigger star but I don't want to jinx him.

I was TOO NERVOUS AND STARSTRUCK when I spoke with you...first off... I BOTCHED my PUNCHLINE DELIVERY!! SECONDLY.... I BAILED on telling u a joke I came up with on da fly when u asked me ( on air )...." where are u from?" I said * Oregon." You replied.." wow! I'ma be in Portland, Oregon, next week for a show!" I ( ALMOST ) said. . " Bob, you'll see when u get here.....not much happening in Oregon... I'm not saying Oregon is BORING, BUT, our State license plate DOES read...." The nasty jokes made me quit early..... I don't did through the trash trying to find something worth eating. The really good comics don't have to use nasty material to make humor.
