@@authorofone Not true. The right to remain silent is true in court as well. That's why you rarely see defendants give testimony at trial. @@authorofone You are "compelled" to speak if you decide to testify, you can however refuse to answer or remain silent but that will be taken into consideration for whichever side the defendant isn't responding to and they can either throw out the entire testimony and get the judge to order the jury to disregard the statement in it's entirety or they can spin the non answers as the person is being deceptive and that their testimony is a part of an ongoing attempt to manipulate the narrative therefore discrediting the person and showing their guilt.
@@ourcorrectopinions6824 I don't think that is correct. I don't think the defendant can ever be compelled to take the stand or have their refusal to take the stand held against them. so the reason they want to bait her into a confession is so that she doesnt enter a plea deal later. because if they don't get a confession during the interogation and they only rely on evidence theres a chance she skips to a plea deal first. also for the officer it looks good on their record to get a confession as opposed to a plea deal.
@@hollowed07 possibly but usually youd already have an idea of the motive if you have a suspect. that's how someone becomes a suspect. motive is less important in conviction and more or less is related to sentencing as they may be able to make an argument for premeditated murder which carrys a longer sentence. but that argument is made in court rather than gotten from confession.

Hi there, I'm just curious on how the law system (especially if a lawyer can choose who to defend and who not) works in your country. Let's say there are 5 cases in a row that the lawyer declines to defend, are there any consequences for that?
Honestly I like that she corrects and instructs them how to behave. So many other streamers just sit there, force a laugh or ignore it because they want the money.
wowww after she was found guilty, her lawyer published a book called “trapped with ms. arias” and she tried to sue him. so to all the comments saying lawyers who defend killers are bad, some are not! its a job to make money. i dont think they get to necessarily pick and choose who they want to defend.
She was so used to playing the role of sweet, innocent girl and manipulating people that she thought she didn't have to put too much effort into planning. She just assumed she would get away with it. She never thought her games wouldn't work on the cops. It had always worked with everyone else. She was used to manipulating men and thought cops would be as easy to play as Travis. Her attempts to play abuse victim at trial makes it even more obvious what her plan was. She accused Travis of CP but his devices were extensively searched by professionals. They found nothing. Travis didn't have the skills level that would be needed to hide CP on a lap top from professionals. She was willing to step on anyone to get her way. Travis, her family, everyone. She accused her family of abuse too. She accused Travis of the worst crime u can accuse a man of, being a child sexual predator. She didn't care. It's all about her.

@@ourcorrectopinions6824 The detectives did have to be aware that, if they verbally degrade her too much, she will retreat and become hardened, which makes her less likely to talk. They had to balance that line so that she felt uncomfortable but not defensive.

“clearly jodi hasn’t seen a single good movie”
i think she watches too many movies the way she was acting
Jodi : “I wanted to know how he died”
Jodi a couple minutes later: “did you find the gun”
The prosecutor is so close to Losing his shit bc she won’t give a simple yes or no answer, for which I thought a judge would’ve have an order for the witness to answer yes or no clearly
@@cczsus6513 you do have the right to remain silent during arrests and interrogations. When you’re in court, you are required to speak
@@authorofone Not true. The right to remain silent is true in court as well. That's why you rarely see defendants give testimony at trial. The prosecutor can't call them as a witness against their will and the defendant's lawyer rarely will since it rarely helps their case and if they do then it allows the prosecutor to cross examine them.
If you have a credible link that says otherwise, I'd like to see it as I searched for a bit myself and couldn't find anything corroborating your assertion.
It was annoying but a good thing too. The jury wasn't in a private bubble with her. They were in an environment primed to already see the truth behind her behavior. Her BS on the stand only showed who she truly is.
The patience of this detective in this hours long interrogation, wow

@@Nerodotnet omg I did too
So the opposite of the girl in the video I see.
At first I thought that narrator was throwing shade labeling her the most annoying person to talk to and managing to say "Who asked" at least 15 different ways as professionally as possible but in reality she literally could have talked for hours if she made the conversation start at her job and end at her trip to disney land when she was a kid.
Most of his other videos: “this person has an extremely interesting interrogation where they hold off as long as possible and show many signs”
This video: “this bitch. Lemme tell ya.”
Narrator: This cheeky mf is annoying as hell, this could've been a short interrogation.
When she came up with the story about the two people she clearly forgot she left him a voice mail and before that she said she was never there falling apart from the very get go
She gave herself away with the pictures and admitting indirectly that she took pictures of him in the shower. She needed to come up with something else. So she made up the situation where someone else killed him.

I wonder why they didn’t mention her voicemail + her attempting to clean up, she wouldn’t be able to explain that

It was also mentioned in the interrogation voiceover

I have a decent morbid curiosity I think everyone has some sort of morbid curiosity, but Jodis morbid curiosity goes to a new level. She wanted to see her handy work multiple times
She also wanted to pretend to not know what was in the pics
my favorite part about this video is how her name changes every time in the subtitles lol
Tony lmao

I've gotten Joey like 10 times
it was jhonny at one point lol
so the reason they want to bait her into a confession is so that she doesnt enter a plea deal later. because if they don't get a confession during the interogation and they only rely on evidence theres a chance she skips to a plea deal first. also for the officer it looks good on their record to get a confession as opposed to a plea deal.
Also to know the motives. They have all the evidence in the world but they dont know why she did it
It's always good to have them admit and or confess before a trial
@@123evilwolf yeah it jsut seals the deal.
@@Fleato i think it's mostly evidence is what they have against u at first. Almost all interrogation i watched is about the police having evidence on the suspect but they dont know why they did it. Ofc im not sure, i dont have the statistics lol besides motives alone cant get u arrested
Bro. Jim seems genuinely pissed off at Jodi here. It’s hilarious. Like he has a personal vendetta against her. I’m all for it
Think of how many hours of trial and interrogation footage he had to go through. The man was clearly driven to insanity 😂
Jodi:“If I’m found guilty what happens?”

Jodi:”what’s the price?”
Dude I’ve never wanted to punch someone in the face so hard.
I love how the prosecutor is not having any of her nonsense.
People criticized his aggressiveness, but I honestly think it was so necessary to deal with her, who will not stop talking and lying. I also think he had his little banters with Jodi to distract her from his main arguments which led to her walking into several logical traps during cross examination.
This is the only reason that I'd stop somebody from becoming a lawyer: I don't want to see any morally righteous human being to defend these evil criminals because this is his/her job. I don't believe Jodi's defense team was there because they really believed she was innocent, they were their because they had to, I honestly feel so bad for them.
I hope they get paid well for their troubles and that the victims' family don't blame them for defending the murderer.
Yeah- a lot of lawyers have to defend people or things they don’t believe in. It’s necessary because sometimes these people are genuinely innocent, or they’re innocent against the law, even if not morally. But in these cases it’s honestly heartbreaking
The defences job in cases like these is not only to absolutely make sure that the accused party is innocent, but also to make sure the prosecution did their job right, crossing their Ts and dotting their Is
Hi there, I'm just curious on how the law system (especially if a lawyer can choose who to defend and who not) works in your country. Let's say there are 5 cases in a row that the lawyer declines to defend, are there any consequences for that?
No worst than all the innocent people who get sent to prison by prosecutors.
Her chat is so odd, I've watched two of these and both she has to tell them how to act its bizarre
This is normal thing for her streams, which is why I stopped watching live
It's filled with literal teenagers and younger, its pretty bad. I stopped watching these live because of the chat
It's a shame because Rae seemed genuinely interested in the video while her audience isn't.
Right? Sometimes it feels like im watching an elementary school teacher teaching toddlers how to act.
Lmao that’s hilarious tho
Defense lawyers are an ugly job that someone has to do for the system to work.
Even the lawyer didn't want to deal with her 😂😂
She was so used to playing the role of sweet, innocent girl and manipulating people that she thought she didn't have to put too much effort into planning.
Jodi is the least intimidating sociopath on the planet
