Watched all your videos, noticed that you go after sheepshead during cooler months. When you get the chance, could you tell us starting from what months, would it be unrealistic to target them. Always curious about the season. Thanks❤
Awesome video Would love to try to catch a sheep head with my 2 young children and do a catch and cook like you done so you have to Use crabs for bait to catch them.were do you get crabs I'm fairly new to the fishing game. I know my 2 kids would love that. Would it be imposing to ask you where that was so I can take them if you don't mind. I'm trying to learn and teach them as well. Thank you keep the great videos coming love your channel.
If you can get live fiddler crabs you’ll have a greater chance of catching them near structure. Sometimes they’ll take shrimp and sand fleas. That is sand key park, catch them up!
Thonny only you could have a successful sheepshead day at #&$@! key. I've never had much luck there outside of a trout. plus I'm tired of driving from ruskin to there. nice vid man
Yes! Those are yo-zuri flouro leaders! I like them cause of the small form factor. It comes with the sling pack. Any fly fishing sling pack should have it but the one I’m using is from simms.
Nice! I haven't been catching Sheepshead as much lately. Looks like they're hanging out at Sand Key. I been having success at John's Pass with Pompano.
@@Thonny I’ve never been able to catch one either hopefully when i get back to st pete the wife will let me go fishing ill try to catch one at you hot spot on coffee pot
Like this comment if you want to see more catch and cook vids! It’s been a while.
Good work guys. Peter is hands down the best AC guy in pinellas. He’s the man.
Peter is the man! Let’s fish your canal soon 😅
@@Thonny we can do a snapper video soon if you want
@@CaptainPatsCharters1 that sounds great!
Hey good job buddy 👍😊
Hey Thonny buddy I enjoyed this episode very much I like your catch and cook that was really good 👍😊
Good luck on the AC business Peter.
This is a solid spot for whiting and flounder as well. Too many people on weekends though.
I haven’t fished for flounder in a while!! Good to know they’re still around there
I just had the pleasure of meeting you at Fort desoto..Very humble guy..
likewise man!
I’m feeling them fillets, especially when you’re hungry after fishing. 🙌
Yea man! Sheepshead actually pretty good when you bleed them.
Nice to see sheepshead still around. Good luck to your body on the new business 😃💪
Thank you sir! Let’s get out there soon! Catch and cook pompano 2023 style
Love the catch and cook videos. They are the best.
Good to hear! I enjoy creating catch and cook vids so there will be more in the future!
🌴 you and PETE were on a mission 😄 it was fish or pizza from 7 eleven 🤣 I’ll have to get a hold of PETE and get an estimate on a/c 👊🏼👍🏼
Man that sheepshead was 🔥!
Sheepshead is my Favorite!
Kool Vid Thonny!
Appreciate it Los! 🙌
Bummer they put up the fence on that piling, that was a good spot for ducking the wind. Nice day though!
Beautiful day to catch those Sheepies on the fiddler crabs….what size J hook do you use Thonny???
I like the owner gorilla light size 1 !
Sheephead is still running in May, in St Pete. Interesting.
They bite year round! But ideally the cooler the water tempt the better
Love the catch and cook video
Thank you!

I would personally stop targeting sheepshead at the end of May. You can catch them year round but the bite will slow down in the summer
@@Thonny awesome! Thanks for letting us know. Was always curious about their seasons❤️
Caught some nice sheep using mud crabs. Seems like they out perform fiddlers.
They do work great! I like them too especially when there are no fiddler crabs around
Thats a good time. Good eating
Thank you! It was a blast 👊
If you had your girl with, she would've caught them sheepies you missed 😂. Nice video. Yes that redfish blackened is the best.
She would’ve 😂 blackened redfish magic seasoning is one of the best for sure!
Good job guys.
Thank you!
Nice job, where were you fishing
Sand key!
Cool
subbed btw
How do you keep the bait down with such little weight?
Up north we fish for blackfish with crab, but usually on a weighted jig up to 1.5oz
By using thicker hook and small pound lest leader and main line! I was using 20lb leader and 10lb main line in the video
So yummy❤
Thanks for sharing guys❤
👊

Sheepshead fishing is tough in the summer! Winter/spring are the best
Is there a place around to just buy fiddler crabs?
Yes bay pines bait and tackle should have them!
Where's the floating grill?
I’ll have to break it in soon!
Where is this
Sand key in Clearwater
Sheepshead is liek the only fish I don’t fillet because most of the fish is head
How do you cook it? I’ve fried snapper whole and it’s really good
Hey brother. Great stuff as always. Are those leaders on the back of your bag? What device is that holding the rings? Thanks!

They’re still around! But they’re finicky. Winter time/spring are the best times to target them!
Good to hear the pompano are still biting. Any keepers?
@@Thonny Yeah we had a 14 inch Pompano last Saturday.
Got a business # for Peter? Or what company info?
His phone number is 727 560 2576
Caught a 18 inch at that spot
That’s massive for around here!
@@Thonny yup i was pretty surprised myself
Thonny way to pass on your spice tip! That was $$$!

I wana eat your sheepshead ive never had it I only trust you
They’re pretty tasty blackened! When you catch one of size try bleeding it. It makes a huge difference in the meat quality
