Had a little drink tonight, for the first time in a while. That stirred up some painful memories; a mistake made, accepted, regretted and uncorrected to this day. All I'll say is this song is a small comfort in that. I was shown it at the same time of my life as when I made this mistake, so even that hurts, despite the song being beautiful and comforting itself... absolutely no reason to share. Perhaps I'm hoping that the right person reads it and knows... but they never will and they never would.

I cant speak for your individual situation, but almost always its better to face those memories and give it a place. We all make mistakes. You also deserve to live life to the fullest. Easier said then done though, i get that.

I'm tearing up as I write this What you have written resonates powerfully within me due to my own past regrets. It's easier said than done to forgive yourself however as I've read somewhere; you can't change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.

I like that there's a layer of bells ringing in the background. You can barely notice it but it reminds of a herd of cows/goats that had those bells hanging around their necks and you could hear them as they would come back from their pastures.

This is one powerful song.
This is a remix of Ellen McIlwaine doing "Farther Along". A little back story to her life performance of that tune--which she normally sang A Capella. At some point Ellen played a recording she had made backwards. She learned to sing the backwards version phonetically. Then to see how accurate she was, she played her backwards version backwards--i.e, it would sound "normal" depending on how close her phonetic translation was. IT was pretty damn close. It just sounds like she's singing with some kind of unusual accent. In the version she released with Polydor you can hear all of it---her singing it straight up, then her singing it backwards phonetically and finally her phenetic rendition played backwards to see how close she had come to perfectly capturing herself in backward mode.
so, can we listen to the backwards song somewhere? either backwards or 2x backwards so "normal" version? :)
