Brilliant fix, fairly clear instructions, I had to guess a few things but following your video made it so much easier, one thing I will say is you forgot to mention about the little "bastard" screw under the steering column (which nearly put my back out removing and replacing 🙄 And I found that if once you're ready to remove the steering wheel if you give the column a little tap with a hammer it releases a lot easier, apart from that spot on mate, and the bit about the pubes nearly made me spit my brew out, nice one 👍🏻
Just done this fix today. Went well up to the point when I plugged it all in..... The high beam was stuck on and could get it to go off. Had to strip it all down and start again. Now I know what that white plastic piece is for. Messed about to get it in the right orientation. So if your doing this job make sure you test out the high beam mechanism operates properly before clipping it altogether. Thanks for the great and helpful videos. Nothing stupid about them. 😂
Can i just add if you have front fog on your car, you will need a stalk that has this function. I looked everywhere and i could not find one for around £20, they are around £90+.. the £20 ones on ebay and amazon are for non front fogs.. so beware of that. However i want to thank you for this tutorial for fixing this stalk and the hazard switch.. saved me over £100. Top man.
That circlip thing is a right bugger to get off!! I got the car for free but I had to change the driveshafts and the lower wishbone. My cars called Eric and my wife hates it! But so easy to work on !! My indicator some times indicates right and other times it doesn’t !
It’s the mould that does me in I have tried to change the boot seals with a universal seal. I have just come to accept mould comes free with a Citroen c1. Mouldy dash, seat belts and floor and anything cardboard or paper put in the boot rots.
@@mattama_jesusprasempre8464 they piss water I’m all over the place. The most common place for causing problems in my experience is the bumper vents though. th-cam.com/video/L9oFCaTf8Uc/w-d-xo.html
Thanks mate , I fixed mine but after a few days when you turn your lights on the left hand side comes on as well and when you signal to go right you have both working on as you would have the hazards lights lol. Amazing stuff now i went on to buy a cheap china see if that works. 🤦💪🙌
Cheers mate and good luck! This one is still going strong a couple of years on. Some of the aftermarket stalks are a bit shit, but for a fiver I’m guessing you got a good used one?
Thanks mate. Since I bought my Aygo last year the indicator's stopped working reliably and there's a constant pool of water in the passenger footwell, looks like I've got some work to do but your videos help. Wishing I'd bought a Civic instead now though.
Tbh the leaking issue is the only real issue these cars have and it’s not hard to fix. Here’s a vid on it! th-cam.com/video/LTkyyfNpUs4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=J9wqpdS-JraEtOmG
Check your door rubbers on the bottom part of the door. Pull them up and you'll see that the glue isn't holding it anymore. You will see that water just flows into the footwell. You can kit that with bison polymax. I used the black version. This only works when your rear boot is dry bc then it is probably the vents or the rear lights/brake light where it flows in.
Been watching some of your C1 vids - very useful... and hilarious! My indicators work ok but the green arrows in the display don't light up - is this just a bulb I can change if I take the speedo unit off?
Thanks mate. They’re not bulbs, they’re LEDs. You can more or less see what’s involved in changing them in this video th-cam.com/video/P-ilWOofdMI/w-d-xo.html
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeah, just watched that one and came back to say so but you've answered double quick! I can't be doing all that soldering lark, I can live without green arrows :D Cheers!
Nice one , actually quite well made I think it's unlikely they actually worn out, although I can't understand why all the green crap appears in them everytime
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yeah I have. I probably had the wrong tools, but eventually got it off and back on. Fun thing...I fixed the indicators, but maybe I was too vigorous with cleaning the contacts, now the full beam doesn't stay on 😅 (can still flash them though). Fortunately I have a spare stalk for just this situation (this isn't the first time I've replaced/cleaned the stalk). It's all to do with various leaks letting the car get damp and the contacts corroding. I'm too stubborn just to change the car

@StupidBlokeStupidVideos hi iv put new stalk in but indicator lights still dont show? Do u think the bulb is fused inside the speedo
Amazballs! U seem to know your stuff geez! I used to own a BMW but swapped for a c1, think an induction kit is called for! Keep it coming 👍👍👍
Thanks, I've now fixed my indicators and they work perfectly... Even had a foot tap myself 😆
Good stuff 🤣

I found if I removed the clock (speedometer) via the three retaining screws it was a lot easier to remove and replace 👍🏻
Thanks for this. Just done mine today and all working again. Exact same problem
Common problem, and glad it helped 👍
Nice one save me looking and fecking around video is exactly what I needed
Well done, another good job and not wasting money on something not needed !
And it’s still working over 2 years on!
You're an inspiration
Thanks, it’s also inspirational to see that you used the correct “you’re”, as opposed to “your” as many people do.
It works!! I think the foot tapping helped!!
Foot tapping helps, in most situations anyway.
Thank you worked perfectly
Good to hear

Lol that’s not ideal. Heard mixed reviews of the cheap Chineese ones though.
Just followed your vid...cheers, massive help😁👍, didn't bother with the repair, managed to get a replacement on ebay for £4.83...hope it lasts😆

It had a nice bit of protective netting on the control arm, who knows 🤞 it'll last, depends how heavy handed my daughter is🫤.

Hi mate great video. What type of grease did you use on the contacts? Would dielectric grease do or could you use silicone grease?
Any dielectric grease should be ok tbh
