Oh yes, I am a complete Disney fan, absolutely would love more of that. This is my favorite way to adhere fabric, no kidding! These little Golden Books are a great way to make these journals. Thanks for sharing.
+Linda DeChow Oh so good to meet a fellow Disney fan! I am still planning a Dismey series, just trying to find the time to film! Isn’t that heat n bond awesome? It makes it so easy! I love the Little Golden Books too. I keep buying them even though I can’t possibly make that many journals! They are just so cute! ☺️💖☺️💖☺️💖
I love these golden books they are so nice, I so enjoy watching all your videos. I always learn so much. I enjoy the way you explain everything😀 Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. Happy crafting.😁
I realize this is over two years old but it is super relevant for me! Thanks for showing exactly how to make a non-scary cover and binding. I really appreciate the professional way you produce your videos!
Your videos are some of the most professionally composed and well organized on TH-cam! Your instructions are concise, perfectly communicated and easy to understand. The lighting, color schematics and design of the channel are hands down, above the rest. Your taste and exemplary work give honor to the God you serve. So thank you for this!
Wow, Christina, what a wonderful compliment! You really blessed and encouraged me today. I need to print this out and read it again when I need a boost. ☺️💖Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and for your support it really means a lot. ☺️💖🍁🍂🍁☺️💖
Thank you Janet, so good to know! I'm planning on doing a disney playlist, just so much to do and so little time! ha! I will definitely announce it in my newsletter when I get it published. 💖💖😊😊💖💖😊😊
I just love all your videos! I have seen this one several times. You have given me so much inspiration, just need more hours in the day. I also LOVE Disney! Planning a trip - 2021.
Thank you so much Andrea, that makes me so happy to hear! I know exactly what you mean about hours in the day! I have so many video ideas that I want to do! And so little time! 😂😜 We are hoping to go to Disney in 2021 too! Depends on how much we can save up, it might be 2022. But at least all the new stuff will be open by then! 💖💖😊😊💖💖😊😊💖💖
I have only been doing this for three months, and I am a quilter, I love the heat and bond idea, due to I am also a quick craftier thanks to ADD so I love your hints and ideas.
Welcome to the ICC Marybeth (impatient crafter club) 😂😂. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and how exciting that you’re just beginning your junk journal journey! You are going to love it! There is something so freeing about it! ☺️💖☺️💖☺️
+Sloan Elmore Thank you so much Sloan! I would love to go to Disneyland again! We usually go to WDW in Florida so it’s been many years since I have been to California! Thank you so much for the kind words. ☺️💖☺️💖
Impatient crafter - that’s probably me 🙋♀️! Thank you for that tutorial! Very useful and full of great info. I will be watching it again as I get ready to make my own. - Maria
Wow, so happy I found your channel! Watched to the end and subscribed! I make leather journals, I was happy to see how you strung up your LGB! You have a great sense of style, you made my heart smile! God bless! I enjoy Mickey & Minnie Mouse, can't wait to see more of your videos! I feel a binge coming on! Lol! 🗣BRAVO👏🏼
+Christie Trout Thank you so much Christie, I’m so happy to have you as a new subscriber! And I’m especially touched to know I was able to make you smile, knowing what you are going through right now. Thank you for your kind words friend. ☺️💖
So smart to use the iron on infusion in stead of glue! I always end up with everything sticking to everything because the glue sips through the fabric. And there’s always a few crinkles in the end. Iron on seems much faster too! 😁 Thanks for this fun tutorial! I love the colours already!
You make it look so easy. I have everything I need to make one of these beauties. I like that you showed the demo for how to string the elastic. Yes, I am an impatient crafter as well. Thanks for this tutorial, I loved it.
I love Disney also. Used to own in the Disney Time Share, vacation club! Took my twins there every other year. Seems so long ago. I love love it there! My twins are now 24! Thanks for the tutorial! I am getting ready to do my golden books.
Oh that sounds wonderful Robin! We’ve thought about the vacation club many times, but just haven’t done it yet. The time goes so fast doesn’t it? I hope you have fun with your journal! Let me know if you share it online! So good to meet another Disney fan! 💖💖💖
This was a fun video to watch and Yes! I am an inpatient person period! lol Thanks for introducing Heat Bond to me....LOVE that you made this into a TN! Sandy
Oh I’m so glad you like it Sandy! And you will love working with heat n bond, it’s really fun (even though it does involve ironing, ha!). And glad I’m not the only impatient crafter! 💖💖💖
I'm not much for Disney but back to your question, yes I'm the same way get it done because I used to know someone who never finished anything, so always get it done.
I know what you mean, I struggle with getting things finished and that’s probably why I’m like this, because I know if I take too long I won’t finish it, ha! 😜
I just found your channel!! So excited to follow you. (IG as well) Your ideas are awesome. Heat and bond never even crossed my mind! I too am a very impatient crafter!! Sleeping Beauty is my all time favorite! Blessings!!
+Debbie Brewington Welcome Debbie! So happy to have you as a new subscriber! Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad I’m not the only impatient crafter out there, ha! (And I love Sleeping Beauty too!) ☺️💖☺️💖☺️
My pleasure! They are pretty quick to put together, so I bet you can do it! We have a trip coming up soon, so I'll hopefully be posting more Disney videos! By the way, I watched your dad dancing at disney video, so fun!
Disney nut! Yep, my husband is especially! We lived in Orlando 3 times then moved to TX. We would go back every year for a long time. Just the 2 of us...My house is much smaller here in FL and we have boxes of Disney stuff from a bedroom and an entire tree of decorations we don't use here!
I've never used the heat and bond before but I'm definitely going to be trying it out. When I use the glue, all the glue seems to come through the fabric, no matter how much of the glue I use. ⭐⭐⭐
I know what you mean Amanda! That’s why I tried the heat & bond, because I always made such a mess with the glue. 😂😜 This takes a little longer, but it comes out so much smoother and no sticky fingers, ha! 💖💖💖
This helped me so much and I love the way my cover turned out I am a Disney lover so much and I’d love to see what u have done w the Disney,I love all Disney but my fav character is stitch and lilo but I love so many of them all of them and I want to make a Disney journal and would love to see what u have done
Your ideas are great and your kits are amazing! I really like that they are faith based. Wish I could use them, but I sell my journals and your things are personal use only. Great videos ! I love your enthusiasm : )
Thank you so much for the compliments Sherry. ☺️💖 (Hope I’m spelling that right) You aren’t the first person to mention selling things, so I’m working on some kits that I can have different licensing for! The first one is out this weekend! I had a peek at your beautiful journals, wow! They are gorgeous!
I'm a new subbie =D I really enjoy your content and how well polished your videos are!! Also really dig your style!! Thanks for all that you share and teach us!!
Love this 😍 and as for the cover showing through fabric you can cover the cover with gesso before glueing the fabric or just cover it with white aclyric 😊 that's what I do sometimes
Thank you so much Gigi, I was wondering if that would work. I'm gonna have to test it with the heat n bond and see if it'll stick. Great suggestion! ♥♥♥
Hi! I just found your channel and subbed! I am very interested in using the heat bond method, but I have a question: does the bond last? I'm making items to put into a charity auction and I need to be sure that whoever buys them will be happy. Thanks and I'm so excited I found you!
Thank you so much. It has held up very well for me, but I will say it sits on the shelf mostly except when I take it down to look at it or write in it and I don't have little ones flipping through it so that could make a difference.
New Subbie!! The way you explain and show your tutorials is awesome!! I would love to see some of your Disney Junk Journals. My 19 year daughter wants me to make her a little mermaid jj. Any inspiration would be great Tfs! 😊
Thank you Holly! So glad to find another Disney fan! And a little mermaid journal would be so fun! I have a long list of Disney ideas that I hope to get to soon! ☺️💖☺️
Just a tip for deconstructing the cover, that I learned…I. Didn’t want to tear the golden strip as that is the main part of a little GOLDEN book, right? I thought so, so I looked for a way to take it apart without tearing that… If you’ll heat up the golden strip, it will peel right off and then you can take out the staples easily, then the entire book comes apart without tearing anything and keeping everything in tact for use later :)
It was so great to see your process, Melissa! I haven't used fabric on my LBG covers yet. I love the idea of using heat bond paper for it! It's funny that you do a TN style and inserts bc if you saw one of my IG posts from a week or so ago, I hinted at a new style junk journal I'm working on and it is a mini pocket size TN using Junior Elf books (don't tell anyone--I am waiting to reveal it! HA HA!). I'm not binding the inserts with elastic, so I'll at least keep that part under wraps! :D I am using fabric on the spine of the mini journals and so far I've just used liquid glue with success. As far as being impatient--I'm impatient when I'm making something for myself, but if I'm making it to sell, I'm slow as molasses bc I'm being super particular and careful. Takes forever to make these! I really need to work on getting faster, though! Can't wait to see your inserts!
Oh that sounds amazing Amy! I used to love those mini elf books when I was little! I think I still have some of them! I can’t wait to see your binding ideas! My impatient crafter-ness is one of the reasons I don’t sell junk journals, ha! 😂
Really, really good video! I don't know that I would ever bind a book like this, I was completely fascinated and definitely intrigued .... your voice over was perfect, informative and fun! Can't wait to see the signatures!
Thank you so much for the kind words Kim. 💖💖💖 I couldn’t ask for a better review. ☺️. And you never know, I might convert you to a Traveler’s Notebook style book yet! 💖
I love love love love love, the cover you created everything about is it just perfect, I have searched for over 3 hours to find the material you used for the binding (ticking) where did you find it?
Wow, thank you much for the wonderful compliment Christie. I wish I had an editor! Ha! Ya'll would get so many more videos! But alas, I just have to do it myself for right now. 😜😂😂😂💖😊💖😊
Do you know of any reason why heat bond would not work with velvet? I am making a journal for my mom using the Velveteen Rabbit Little Golden Book, and I want to use velvet on the back, spine and inside covers. I don’t want to use glue.
I don't know why it wouldn't Heather. Although if it's synthetic and not real velvet the heat could melt it. I would say cut a little snippet of it and then test it on some cardboard, like an old cereal box maybe, just to make sure it can take the heat. Your book sounds beautiful! What a wonderful idea!
Pink Paper Peppermints thank you! I hope the book turns out the way I envision it! That rarely happens. :). I appreciate your response. I am going to give it a practice try !
Hi Melissa, I actually made 2 of these! One question - in both of them I noticed the first & third covers don’t actually lay flat, they’ve developed a crease that conforms to the spine. Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? Do you think it’s because I have too many pages in each signature?
Part 2 of the series is available now! Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/U6j_5cl2_rQ/w-d-xo.html
These are really sweet and you have inspired me to try it. Thank you.
That's awesome, what an easy way to make a note book. Love it. Just saw this and started following you.
Thnx!
So glad you made it a TN!!!!!! THANK YOU! Sandy

Thank you so much Candace! 💖😊💖😊💖😊💖
Very cool idea. Love how you used fabric for the cover. Thanks for the tutorial.
+Christine Bell Thank you so much Christine. ☺️💖. I’m so glad you liked it. I love fabric and paper so I can’t help but them together. 💖💖💖

Thanks for this fun tutorial! I love the colours already!
You are so welcome. I’m so glad you liked it. I know just what you mean. I can’t stand that “oozing” wet glue problem! 😜
This is a fabulous tutorial, thanks for taking the time to do it...appreciated..
Thank you so much Lori. ☺️💖☺️💖
Love this, tfs!
Thank you Jo Anne! 💖😊💖😊💖😊💖
I used that fabric tac and the glue just soaked through the Fabric, I might have to try the heat and bond. TFS!!
I know! That happened to me too! That's why I went looking for an alternative. Definitely try it, I think you will love the results! 💖😊💖😊💖😊💖
Love, Love, Love! I bought 2 Golden books yesterday at a thrift store. Going to make a couple of these. Thanks for an easy to follow video!
Yay! You're gonna have so much fun making them Deborah! I'd love to see them when you're done. 😊💖😊💖
Fabulous tutorial - thank you!!! :)
Thank you for watching Lynne, I"m so glad you enjoyed it! 💖😊🍂🍁
I don’t cover the entire cover but I do like the use of heat and bond. I may have to try that on my spines.
It has held up really well for me! It's my favorite way to attach the fabric, well, when I'm patient enough to use it, ha! 😂💖💖💖😊
Thank you! Great tips and idea’s!
Thank you Michelle, so glad they were helpful to you! 💖😊💖😊
You make it look so easy. I have everything I need to make one of these beauties. I like that you showed the demo for how to string the elastic. Yes, I am an impatient crafter as well. Thanks for this tutorial, I loved it.

Great tut! Loved the heat and bond idea. I have never liked the wet glue for the same reason that you mentioned.
Thank you Lois. Yes, wet glue is my least favorite adhesive so I’m always trying to find different ways to adhere things! 😜☺️💖☺️💖

Hi Melissa, I actually made 2 of these! One question - in both of them I noticed the first & third covers don’t actually lay flat, they’ve developed a crease that conforms to the spine. Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? Do you think it’s because I have too many pages in each signature?
What was the paper you glued on the fabric with iron??
Can’t seem to find the description with the measurements, etc…
Starting at 4:37 - I avoid cutting one material over another, in case I cut both by mistake!
