They use a Yuhasz equation to calculate it, which means they do skinfold measurements with calipers, which is known to often be wildly inaccurate compared to other methods. EJ Emery's (and Sam Dickinson's) listed % body fat measurement from the combine is 3.64% which is practically impossible. Bodybuilders/physique athletes right at competition time are some of the most, if not the most, lean people on the planet; and not only do they go to intense and very specific lengths just to get their body fat % down into the mid-to-high single digits, but they only sustain that for a super brief period of time given that it's very unhealthy. No shot EJ Emery has a lower body fat % than Chris Bumstead the day of the Olympia.
