Unless you've had some sort of experience that opened your eyes to something beyond the senses, you most likely will not immediately connect to many of the concepts Eyedea throws at you, whereas Slug & Ali package their message in a much more "earthly" style, if that makes sense. Many of us have yet to evolve beyond our atmosphere; perhaps Eyedea will be more lauded in a few centuries.
His music transformed my life into magic, I've listened to him since I was 18, 35 now and last summer his music all of a sudden meant something completely different. I understood it on a whole new level. Its crazy and about the coolest thing I have ever experienced. I fell in love with Eyedea at the 10 year anniversary show at first Ave.

that makes sense though. Slug was the visionary and chief founding member / key investor for Rhymsayers, so it only makes sense that he would focus the primary directive and key resources of the business he founded and helped build, in the direction that was most beneficial to his own efforts. he knew Michael was not able the money, he really wasn't even about time art... his concepts and the over all scope of his intent was on a whole far removed level than building a construct that would harbor both his work, as well as give a aafe haven to other up coming artists. i agree eyedea was WAY advanced, on a whole other level. i feel what you're saying. and Eyedea is by far my favorite of all time, however, i think that Sean and Rhymsayers as a whole, did what they felt was best, for the long term development and solidity of what they had deeply invested themselves into. I'm not saying that's what i myself would have done, had i been on the board of Rhymsayers, however, i can understand why they allowed themselves to gradually be less tied to the areas of the abyss and beyond, that Michael was consistently and more intrinsically uniting his art / music with. sadly, i think so much was never fully explored, as could have been, had Slug and Eyedea chosen to walk one another's paths a bit further than they did, however, Slug knew it was a death sentence for him, if not possibly for the entire Rhymsayers crew... at the very least, on an emotional level. loading Michael Larson, was much like the world we live, having lost Nikola Tesla. so much more Eyedea, had with in him to give, and share with those willing to open up, listen, and read between the cracks of their own broken souls.
@keyonte0 i understand what your saying..but considering first born is just as classic as overcast..eyedea kind of got thrown on the back burner, and thats probably why he started a band, got tired of waiting on RSE..
@JoeKooL25 He's lucky that he was in a label that didn't drop him when decided to put his rap career on hiatus and join a band. Hell, they even paid for all or the necessary lessons.
