KDF kill 2 suspects in Mandera

Two people suspected to be ferrying explosives in a vehicle were shot dead by Kenya Defence Forces officers in Mandera town, Monday morning. Three residents who were passing sustained injuries from stray bullets in the ensuing shoot out that took place near Cereals board depot. Speaking to the Nation, Mandera county commissioner Mr Fredrick Shisia said the KDF officers detected explosives in a Probox that was being driven into Mandera town and ordered the driver to stop. The killing sparked protests in Mandera town as residents argued that those killed are well known in the area and not members of a terror group.
