Old School or New School, being a kid in the 80's was something else!! Mantronix was Raw and Fresh!! Breakdancing, black belt theater (karate movies), Rollerskating, and E.T. Man there was to much going on being a lil B-Boy. And we did all that while we hung around with our friends playing our beatbox listening to Mantronix!!
+manny rey true indeed! I was just telling somebody the other day that it was mantronix that did it for me, especially when i saw on the cover of the Just-Ice Back to the old skool album the graffitti cartoon of mantronix holding the Roland TR-909!
u have to hand it to mantronix - super talented guy!! very innovative and wayyy ahead of his time...this track still rocks so hard today 30 years later as does all his music - ageless and eternal. legend!!
MC Tee, the one rapping, was in jail for child molestation in recent years smh..as a bboy who grew up to these tracks it's a damn shame to know but truth must come to light...peace
Agreed! I used to see Curtis Mantronix in Sam Ash & Mannys music in NYC back in the Days. He always had the newest Music Tech of the Time He was Way ahead of Everyone
Some punk tried to tell me that my opinion about today's Rap is because I'm old.... well son your gonna learn today!!!!!! Old Skool better than that shit that is blasted out today... no substance... and yes I'm an old 42 year old who grew up with this and many.... and let me repeat many countless artists who blew these so called artists today away!!!!! remember and repent my son!!!!!!!
when you say that to youngsters today (me lol), they wont deny it but they find it hard to respond to because i think lots of them grew up on mainstream all the way to their 20s and by then its a bit late to be 'pro-old school' ... but not me, i truly discovered old school music a few years ago and i agree with u
im old skool. but. old skool music, in essence, is in no way better than current music. current music has grown on, evolved from, and improved on old skool. there could not be this new music without the old... but for real, starr.. nobody sittin around bumping this on the regular. its rudimentary. now. im here because of the place it takes me to when i play it. i was a young fresh mind... the same type of mind that these "punks" have now. those memories are why we keep going back. it reminds us of when we were fresh. respect time and time will respect you.
it's really a coincidence that 10 years ago, I was listening to Mantronix & Old School stuff, and now I love acid sounds & detroit techno ! Hip Hop are the roots for sure.

Mantronix the most under appreciated hip hop act ever. Such pioneers.

Too bad we don’t hear great electro like this on top 40 anymore :/

No murder, no tough talk. No violence. No violating of females. No swearing, and it’s still a pretty good song.
still feels more gangsta than gangsta rap itself
Yeah, definitely the nerds of hip hop

Still sounds incredibly raw and innovative today.
I'm 30 years old. It's 2022. I'll love this song forever. Original kings of hip hop

Damn....
That sucks big time... what a shame no doubt....
Just like Africa Bambata huh? Freaks. There is no place for anyone who touches kids in this community.
Omg
Yep. I lost respect for him after that
MC Tee damn near flows through the entire song and KILLS it, amazing....
I have a hard time deciding if I like Mantronix beats over MC Tee or Just Ice more. Tough call.
That's why to this day and to those who agree, Mantronix will be forever declared Manhattan's and the world's original "Daft Punk"
Dude, for real. These guys paved some metaphorical roads!

I don't expect many to get what Mantronix brought to the rise of Hip Hop
Mantronix was my favourite. It can't get funkier than this. Imagine breakdancing to this.

MANTRONIX DID A LOT FOR HIP HOP!!
My first contact with hip-hop music when I was a 12 year old boy in Hamburg-Germany. Heard their first album on tape day and night.
I remember this channel was called Vintage Seattle Hip-Hop ❤️
I miss old TH-cam fasho

Mantronix - Bassline "The BOOM 2016"
When the 909 Kicks in...🌋
Most black marching bands tuba, and drumline sections played this we did definitely did!
I like how @313 he catches his rhyme. MC Tee was a master at that.
🔥🔥from the 80s
young people today would not be able to comprehend how dope this song is,
No kidding. I’m 20 years old and just discovered Mantronix. I finally get it now.

Yes so make it a collection,
So the name Mantronix be your number 1 selection,
Coz we are crew I know you like,

@@UTubeAngelique MC Tee had terrible enunciation
At last, I can’t understand his diction on record, Mantronik buried the vocals in the music!
I think he says everybody else is just controlling our rep

I was blesed to have grown up with the birth of Hip Hop. I remember this was classified under disco when you went to the record store.
Haha, wouldn't surprise me. Any dance type music would have been lumped in together in that section in a lot of places back then.
Sick tune !!

I prefer the electro hip hop music from the 80's, so catchy and didn't need to feature naked people or booty shaking !!
well 80s hip hop in miami always had booty shaking and always had electro hip hop beats lol
