A fantastic review of as you stated one of the great albums of the late 1960’s, The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette. Bob Gaudio & Jake Holmes along with the involvement of Charles Calello is just an awesome piece of work. This album remains a favorite to this day and a great review presented here. Thank you for recognizing Seasons On Saturday. We so much to Ken Charmer as well as others who are behind the massive Working Our Way Back to You Valli Four Seasons Box Set. Thank you for a great review on GILG.
Hey, man! I subscribed, really enjoyed your video and appreciate what you are doing! The algorithm doesn't help us at all! Love all the BB paraphernalia, I think I see Gettin' In Over My Head in the top left? I have a giant framed poster of that album sleeve that you'd definitely like, I love the art direction of Peter Blake! Regarding Imitation Gazette, I'm genuinely blown away by how good it is. American Crucifixion is absolutely stunning. They had absolutely no platform to be releasing this kind of album, but then again - neither did Pet Sounds. Thanks again! Love & Mercy!
Hello Jamie, just kind of stumbled upon your video here on YT, and being a hard core 4Seasons fan I kept watching--i was very surprised (pleasantly)when you referred to our 4Seasons On Saturday program--thanks for the plug, I appreciate it--we certainly enjoy doing it and so glad YOU enjoy it! I very much enjoyed your review of the GILG album, could not agree more with your comments--look forward to more such videos---and the upcoming review of the Watertown album you mentioned. I see George of GeorgeMusic 4All4Seasons has been here too! Being a 4Seasons purist hope you don't mind some corrections---Bob Gaudio's name is pronounced like the word AUDIO except with a G in front--G-awe-dio, not G-ow-dio, unless that's just your British accent? Also Bob Crewe was not an arranger; he was their producer and songwriter (lyricist, chiefly) as you stated, and all around creative genius, --he, however, had nothing really to do with GILG-that was all Gaudio! --and Jake Holmes was not the drummer-that was Joey Cass(Cassiere).I hope you don't mind me bringing these up--again really enjoyed it -look forward to more. Thanks again, Tony Colatrella
I always liked this album and I am glad that they made it, I know Phillips records didn't promote it, because it wasn't what the company was used to, typical.. I think that it was ahead of its time.
Hello , about time someone dove into this gem. I spoke to Jake Holmes about this recording. He is very proud of it . Baroque pop recording. Jake is famous for composing Dazed and Confused featured on his Above Ground Sound of album. Which I recommend along with all of his recordings. I am especially fond of A letter to Katherine December. Many bands were experimenting with music at this time. I also own half and half by the four seasons which I enjoy.
Wow!!!! You spoke to Jake Holmes!!!! That must have been a fantastic conversation. GILG is an all time favorite and when first listened, I could not believe what was coming out of the speakers. A masterpiece by Bob Gaudio & Jake Holmes.
Thanks for an interesting look at an overlooked and fascinating album! Looking forward to the episode on the Sinatra album! Keep up the great work, Jamie!
Wondering if Jethro Tull drew inspiration as they did a similar enough concept album with thick as a brick in 1972. Tull's St Cleve Chronicle draws some strong similarities to the four seasons Gazette. 🤔
Ok George I guess you’re in California somewhere? Have to coordinate time difference. I’m in Spain. I’m flexible on dates. We’re about 9 hours ahead,so earlier in the day the better. I don’t have work pressures,so let me know amigo! We can work on subject matter!

Are the UK ACE Cds the same masters that are used for all the CDs on the WORKING OUR WAY BACK TO YOU box set?
Thanks George! Hey would you like to guest on my channel?
