I have worked at goodwill for ten years and sales floor space is too valuable to dedicate any space for chipped stuff.
I am so happy to see you purchasing cross stitch (samplers, bunnies, teddy bears, etc.). I have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours doing this work. These items were probably donated by this woman's children after she died. I hope they end up in homes that really appreciate the work that went into them.
I think it is so sad though. All the time, effort and money put into those pieces. That they end up in a second hand shop. I suppose one has to be thankful they're not going to the landfill.

I found a beautiful Hardanger apron today and had to rescue it for 30kr. Another one had some embroidery of a little girl feeding ducks and they wanted 60kr for it and it was stained in two places, so it stayed.
It actually makes me happy to find the cross stitch needlepoint, tapestries , crewel pieces. So many young people don't realize the time effort and love that go into these. Sure I make a little bit of profit. Not much. But I'm thrilled when they sell. It means someone appreciated. It's when I find family photo books and school pictures that my heart sinks and I feel so sad.
Ms. Margo McKenzie did a VERY good job on her needlework!! It's not that easy to get those stitches so perfect. Kudos to her ;-)
I agree with Noah regarding the butter dish. Beautiful functional items do not become yours until you use them. I have a large collection of Japanese ceramics, mostly antique, that I use every day. As part of my Fine Art degree I studied needlework. I think the cross-stitch items you bought, although not old, are extremely well done. I hope you find someone to buy them all so they are kept together.

Hi, unfortunately those candle holders are not Festivo iittala ( Finland) ones you thought. If you still have the one you found earlier from Dog Junkies and put them side by side you can see the difference and feel. You are always fun to watch, greetings from Finland 🤗❤️
The pretty little, flowered bowl is from Clouds Pottery that was located in Folsom, CA. They sadly went out of business. I believe the pattern is English Garden.
If you buy anything with a chippy in it I’ll buy it because I’m starting to learn how to make mosaics to try to sell. Since my husband isn’t supporting me in my reselling idea. But I have to try something that doesn’t cost a lot of money. And if I find free or cheap pieces of glass I can try this and see how that goes. I’ve got another box ready to be sent out to you, Tiffany,Kari and Mikey. Hope you guys can find a way to use it. There are also some personal items in there for your family. Hope they enjoyed the last items I sent. I hope Noah could use the ships in his room and they didn’t get broken on the way. With no support from my family my depression is really out of control. The only joy I get is watching all my resellers on TH-cam. My daughter loves Pooh. My great aunt had a whole set of those desert glasses.

I have had good luck searching for artists name on a site called "The Marks Project". They list them alphabetically, and whatever information they have about them. Maybe that will help you find the maker of pottery, etc. Check it out! 🤗

I grew up eating on Fiest wear at every holiday. My grandmother and my aunt both collected it. Now my aunt has it. She said that I will be receiving it soon. It is a huge collection.

Noah was right. From experience I can tell you that you do not want a BUTTER DISH that does not have some kind of knob on it so that it is easily lifted. Just saying......
Your Aquarium is absolutely fascinating! My dad kept fish, and my mum used to put us in our pram in front of it, and we'd watch quietly for hours! So there's a tip for when you have grandchildren, and work has to be done! 😊

Danni, the house made by the lady who did the samplers, is counted cross-stitch, not needlepoint. There is a difference. It's sad to think she probably passed away and no one wanted her beautiful cross-stitch, or she didn't have any heirs. 💖🌹💍💎
So sad. I don’t think the younger generation appreciates these treasures😢
@@lindaduval5056 Linda, I agree with you. As someone who has done counted cross-stitch, I know the amount of time and concentration that goes into making these pieces. It is sad that many young people have no appreciation for them. 😢

I have found those silver candles sticks that have that rounded circular bottoms are sterling. I just found a set at Savers with the same bottom. You have to search for the hallmark.
My mother, who is 87, has a set of those candlesticks with circular ridges on the bottom, & they are sterling.
My favorite part was when Noah said "why did you get a butter dish if you're not going to use it?" Or something like that!! lol cracked me up because us women get stuff all the time that we won't use them as intended because it's too cute to mess up! 🤣🤣🤣

Probably 60 years ago, we had a friend who turned driftwood pieces into awesome "candelabras" by adding candle cups! Great scores!
