The tallest players ussually give up a bit of agility and foot speed, but this Russian squads tallest players were fast...great leaping and agile...those back court smashes by Russia were great.

Depends on the set up. If Evgeniya Startseva didn't give her good ball, Goncharova couldn't spike that good. So it depends on Startseva herself.

Tbh Korea is readying (experience) their some 2nd stringers for kyk retirement. They have been relying to kyk for the past years. That move by their is good because it will give boost (confidence) to the others players.

I really really like Parubets, but I don't know if she has what it takes to be an attacker in the russian team. Voronkova is not that great either, she's just very strong, but not very talented to be honest. I think Russia should use more Koroleva in the middle, and they definitely need to bring Kosheleva back.

Korea really think they cant win this match based on table i guess. That why the coach just sent all the 2nd player to play and rest all the main player. 1st and 2nd were good but they just lost it all and didnt try to make a comeback on set 3. Such ashamed. Cant brain why coach didnt use yang hyojin she a good blocker. Sigh. But a good experience for the young players.

It's really upsetting that Russia never really had an effective middle blocker with the likes of Fabiana of Brazil or Rasic of Serbia.

a diferença de altura é gritante, as russas atacam sobre o bloqueio coreano, alguns times tem de buscar jogadoras mais altas, igual a China fez para as olimpíadas de Pequim. Imagina altura junta da agilidade asiática.

Korea almost defeated Russia in the Intercontinental Olympic Qualification, yet the coach opted not to give Kim Yeon Koung playing time in this match. Have they given up this early? What a mindset! This is World Cup!
olympic qualification is more important at the moment. they really need that badly! world cup matches got looong day to go and against many stronger team in coming match...coach really has to think better physical conditions for his main players.

@@BlackRose-ir2fj this "World cup" is just the name. This is not the World championship, it is just another competion. That is why Korea and other teams are using their B teams and using this competion as a preparation for the important : Olympics qualifications.
It does make sense. World Cup used to be important because it used to be the first olympic qualifying tournament. This edition is almost non-bearing, except for its effect in the World Ranking. Your points taken. Thanks, guys!
@@williamlevanofigueroa2462 B teams? Only Serbia used their B team because their main players played during the Eurovolley which was a month earlier. All other teams have their A team. Including this Korea team. Only KYK was missing in this match.
Essa seleção russa assim como a seleção brasileira, não irão muito longe nem nessa competição e nem nas olimpíadas. São duas seleções muito instáveis, não estão jogando os 100% redondo.
Eu aposto muito mais nos EUA e China, essas sim estão voando e mostrando um grande volume de jogo. A Itália ficou de fora dessa competição né?
Pois é, se a Itália classificar para Tóquio 2020, elas vão vir com sangue nos olhos.
Pelo menos a Rússia voltou a jogar bem, não vai mais passar tanta vergonha nas derrotas como vinha passando nos últimos dois anos.
@@fabiulaalves2414 a Rússia tem um grande problema, é uma equipe que depende o tempo todo de apenas uma grande jogadora, sem falar q só conseguem ganhar de seleções fracas. Quando encaram uma China, Sérvia ou EUA perdem e perdem feio. Ou seja, não irá muito longe nas olimpíadas e se bobear não pega nem o terceiro lugar na copa do mundo. Quanto ao Brasil, vai ter que evoluir muito pra conseguir pelo menos uma boa colocação em Tóquio, porque a medalha de ouro já existem equipes com mais chances de ganhar.

What? What a poor excuse. All teams brought all their A team. China, U.S, Brazil, (except Serbia coz they pursued EU volley championship). This is an event that only happens every 4 years like the world championship.

fernando martins I don't know what are you talking about exactly but Japan has always been ranked higher than Korea. I think It's because Japan beated some countries which Korea was beaten or they took the sets more than Korea against the countries so even if Japan lost to Korea It's really doesn't matter.
But yeah in this Japan World Cup 2019, Japan was 5th, Korea was 6th. You should google it!

C'mon Japan. Get a better cameraman next time. Diversify your shots! Why focus on one player only (#8)? It's almost creepy. I watched all world cup matches and all Russian matches have cameras that were glued on to #8. That's creepy to a whole new level.

Russia needs a better setter
Startseva is a great setter, with her Russia won the world championship 2010, obviously with great players as Gamova, Sokolova, Kosheleva, Goncharova, and won with Dinamo Kazan 3-0 final of clubes world championship, with great players as Gamova and Larson. Russia need More defense and better wing spikers.

Well world cup is not their main goal to win. They just want to maintain their rank in fivb as top 10. So thats y coach rest the main player and choose which team they confidence can win over and get a full point. For now they just want a ticket to Olympic 2020 and prepare for asian continent Olympic qualifications in Jan 2020. Thats why coach used team B to figure out other strategy to defeat russian in olympic later. This is the time to try and experiment with new strategies.
My guess is that Korea got Japan. Mission accomplished. So team a got a rest
