@@tangt4860You think planning is easy? Planning is not easy at all because it involoves lots of thinking. At least lta provides a good service to all commuters. If not, more people will use private transportations which will cause more pollution and no one wants that to happen. If you think they are stubborn, why don't you give a feedback on the planning. Look, after many feedbacks, lta decides not to withdraw service 167 for now.

Nah bruh they just making the frequency worse so that when the demand falls to all time low, they will jump in and use that chance to axe 167 for good with little to no opposition by that time... I guess it only delays the inevitable unless those who are committed to keep it alive continues to use that service to show that it does have demand.
The policy makers are obviously influenced by foreigners especially PRCs to use this low down barbaric measure. Just like denying China bank accounts withdrawals because the banks under official instruction are told they consider the acct holders as scammers.
@SMB3086T Another Singkie has just demonstrated self centeredness and severe LACK of EMPATHY! Do you know that there are people like me whom have to catch the FIRST 167 bus at 0530hrs for us to make it in time for our work at Sembawang Airbase by 0600hrs?! There are NO other bus services in Sembawang that starts at that time and that INCLUDES bus 980, which ONLY starts their first service at 0600hrs.
It's a very simple one. If 147 could prove it is variable to stay and there is still demand, other bus numbers would be the same theory. Let the bus run for 1 year and if the bus still has demand, then it proves that it should not be removed. If people want to take the bus, they take the bus. If people want to take the train, you cane them they also won't take the bus. The problem behind all these problems is just one word: Profit.
There are some bus services which continue to ply specific routes despite very clear low ridership like those that travel around high SES areas where at least 2 cars are parked e.g Kembangan MRT stn to Siglap Opera estate. Must have VVIPs there to deserve wasting resources

What happens if one chicken rice stall called PAP starts to jack up prices, acts haughty and arrogant because it monopolises the entire chicken rice market?
Anticipation and feedback are keys to a good plan. Listen to the end-users.
They are stubborn and not listening

Hello
just a theory, LTA made the frequency 30 mins so it will deter ppl from taking 167 and when demand reaches its lowest 167 withdrawals the route.

There are certainly NO trains to Sembawang Airbase. How about they build one there before even talking about removing bus services…
Now you can all see the results of giving 3rd world people PRs or citizenships and then employ them in civil service and stat boards.
