The milsurp market is dead and has been for a few years unfortunately. Looking at people listing hex mosins for $750. Only real deals are Swiss K rifles.
I was so disappointed at the amount (or lack of) milsurp weapons at a gun show here in New Orleans last weekend. Literally two vendors had more than one milsurp for sale. The show seemed to be mostly Blocks, 1911s, and AR-15 parts and rifles. I found a CZ 82 for $400 (which was pretty beat up), a Polish P64 for the same, and a couple of CZ 52s for $550+. Lee-Enfields started at $600 and SKS ranged from $500-1200. And I found a Mosin Nagant for $700. Sigh... One bright spot of the day was finding some 6.5mm Carcano reloaded ammo with a good reputation. I got the last box at $40.
Dude - $350 for a "matching numbers" WWII CZ? - The range will tell the tale - if it fires accurately, and functions well - then you got good my friend. Stay groovy.....

Welcome to the WW2 German Pistole Club. Just recently bought a 1940 P-08 Luger made by Mauser. Someone refinished it to a nickel finish, had to replace the trigger spring and the right grip panel was loose, so I put repro grips on it. However, I set the original grips aside because all the parts are numbers matching besides the mag, which isn't surprising. Despite these issues, I bought it because it's a good shooter, and it was only $700

I have a friend that has a soldier bring back. It's a K-98 dated 1943. The rifle has matching serial numbers throughout the rifle, yet the bolt has a whole set of different serial numbers. The story is that when a village or small town surrendered, the soldiers would remove the bolt and stack the bolt in one pile and the rifle in another. If a soldier wanted a souvenir, they would pick up a rifle and a bolt from the pile. That accounts for the different serial numbers.
It was also done at various factories as well. After the war, rifles and other firearms were simply disassembled, cleaned, repaired or refurbished and reassembled from whatever part was in a pile of parts, and then coated in cosmoline.
@@ronschramm9163 I failed to mention that he also has a Russian re-arsenaled K-98 and the serial numbers are all different. He said the Russians dismantled the guns; hard blued the components, and reassembled them. The serial numbers were never taken into consideration.
@noapologizes2018 Yep, pretty much the same for a number of old Soviet Block era firearms. I have a post-war CZ Mauser. No matching numbers on it. It also discontinued the underbarrel cleaning rod.
Those prices are insane on a lot of those Milsurps. I’m glad you found something great. Even with the miss match I think you got a good value . Anything German marked adds value for sure . I can’t wait to see the video of it in action. Keep up the great content!
I saw couple there, worth a further look. Type-38 carbine, at least one enfield. I don't even stop, unless I see numbers in the realm of realistic, then a deal is possible.
I had a very nice example of a 27 got a local gun show but it came with a very nice matching holster rig. Had to replace the firing pin on it but decent shooter. Sold it a few years ago
So I feel there are a couple big factors affecting the milsurp prices. 1) they’re old milsurp, so inherently there is a finite supply for an ever growing collector base, people are going to begin outbidding each other driving the prices up. 2) people see prices rising so begin holding onto what they have to maximize their profit , meaning less on the market which in turn drives the prices up even further. 3) people turn in rifles to police buy back programs essentially removing them permanently from the market, as most buy backs destroy them. And lastly you have people with expendable income who don’t care what it’s priced at but have to complete their collections
0:58 Pretty sure that's a yugo m95m. Would've picked that thing up in a heartbeat if I saw it. Yugoslavia converted their m95s to take 8mm mauser and feed from stripper clips.

I pulled my Mosin Nagant out of the crate on my 18th birthday back in 2000, it was 59 bucks with a fucking coupon from Big 5 here in California. It's a 1943, M44 made in Izhevsk, no arsenal refinishing, no nothing. It took awhile to get the decades of cosmoline off of it, and clean it properly. I've slowly pieced it back together, by finding a cleaning rod, the tools, clips, and sling. I treat it better than the commies that had it before me, and I'll be taking my son out this weekend so he can shoot it like I did on my 18th birthday, although a bit more complete and the ammo isn't 7.25 for 20 anymore, or 50 bucks for a spam can.
Yeah, people need to stop paying these prices. Everyone at the gun shows is trying to maximize their collection and raise the floor with the sub-par options.
I purchased just about all of my military surplus rifles and pistols 25 years ago or more. A person has to be crazy to pay these ridiculous prices especially when a lot of these firearms are junk. American .32ACP is anemic, not so with the European 7.65. Ensure you use European ammo for proper functioning; the pressures are what it was designed for. Most of us who collect surplus 32s reload to European specs and avoid the anemic loads. If you reload, check out Lehigh Defense Xtreme Cavitator Bullets in 32 ACP. They make .32 ACP worth carrying again. I carry a Browning 1922 while in a suite. John Moses Browning carried a .32 until the day he died. As far as deals; yep, you got one.
No you did not overpay...(Everything) is now getting expensive and overpriced, from Firearms, surplus or not to Food at your local grocery store it is just a way of life now, and I do not know how some people are making it ...I purchased a German occupation cz27 some 20 odd years ago at a pawn shop for $200, but back then most mil surplus in very good shape was going for that amount or less...
just keep those shorts coming with complaining about prices idc if they are outrageous or slightly over priced i started watching shorts cause of those things literally cant get enough
I wouldn't look back. You got a great deal in today's overpriced market. The fact there is a finite number of old surplus firearms means people are proud of their property.
Gun shows are a waste of time and money. The milsurp game is over now that investors have driven prices through the roof. I blame it on all of the WW2 video games in the past 25 years or so. They’ve created whole other generations of new people interested in milsurp that otherwise would’ve never given a shit about it.
You have to remember they were using slave labor, taken from the work camps at the last years of the war, also late P38 can't hit the broadside of a barn, some had no rifling OOPS.

I’d have bought it, think it was a good deal. Paid more for my VZ 70
just keep those shorts coming with complaining about prices idc if they are outrageous or slightly over priced i started watching shorts cause of those things literally cant get enough
I wouldn't look back. You got a great deal in today's overpriced market. The fact there is a finite number of old surplus firearms means people are proud of their property.
anemic 32 caliber. you want to stand in front of it while it is going off?
SWEET PISTOL 🔫 YOU DID GOOD 👍 GREAT CONTENT 👌SUBSCRIBED 🙌🏽 REGARDS
P.S. THE CZ 27 IS AN ICONIC HIPSTER PISTOL: THE HIGH PRIEST OF HIPSTERS, WILLIAM BURROUGHS, HAD ONE; IT WAS FEATURED IN, NAKED LUNCH.
Bought mosin Nagant 1944 Carbine for a $100 from a Police auction
Why do u keep saying vz it's cz27
Why not buy from another online milsurp gun seller!
Theory is plausible
Smoking deal!!!!!
Gun shows are a waste of time and money. The milsurp game is over now that investors have driven prices through the roof. I blame it on all of the WW2 video games in the past 25 years or so. They’ve created whole other generations of new people interested in milsurp that otherwise would’ve never given a shit about it.
Absolutely correct about WW2 video games and the newer generation.
More people getting into guns through video games is a good thing.
You have to remember they were using slave labor, taken from the work camps at the last years of the war, also late P38 can't hit the broadside of a barn, some had no rifling OOPS.
MILSURP gonna MILSURP.
How do I send you a m.r.e I found. Edward

So go the greedy boomers, thus goes the ridiculous pricing at gun shows... hopefully
Is anyone actually paying these prices?
I see this overpriced stuff going home with the ones what brought them.
People have to move on from this hobby, it has become pretty horrible.
The collecting hobby is fine.
