  • Part I, My first trip to Runde, outside Ålesund, Norway. I am joining a BioFoto trip with several other enthusiastic photographers. Sadly on this BioFoto trip as well, the amount of migrating birds was low. The number of great skuas was at a staggering low. But, the number of Puffins was at an okay level, as well for the Northern gannet.

A great video and beautiful footage and images, Im looking into doing some wildlife photography and will look into some lenses, but my furthest focal length is 300mm at the moment. I live by the coast and maybe thats a start. What an inspirational video. Subbed!

Thank you :) 300mm is good for landscape shots with birds in them!

Great Video, with some truly stunning shots and video footage! I'm really impressed, and a 400 mm f 2.8 has suddenly moved to the very top of my wish list 😀 (Also; yes it is fun to see myself in a youtube video....😁) Thanks Torjan, this is inspiring!

Hello, beautiful photos, but always amazing to see how big FF equipment is. I have MFT equipment (OM1, 200mm/2.8), costs and weighs only 1/3.🤣

Yes, huge different in size and weight. I also have a OM1, and love it. How is the Panasonic 200mm f2.8? Is it a great lens to use, or do you feel like you need to use converters all the time for reach?

Sometimes I use the converter (changing is annoying), but usually 200mm is enough. P.S.: The quality is always amazing and and for only 1500 Euros.@@TJPhotography

Beautiful images and videos! How much did you use your R6 in low-light situations?

Thanks! In this part I did not use it in low-light situations. Next part, part 2 I used the R6 for sunset photography and time-lapse. Part 2 is coming this weekend :)

As always, great video, great footages, and wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing it with us 🥰 I was wondering, I saw that in your pictures in this vid, you're often with the TC 1.4 or 2x on the 400, do you find yourself too short with the 400 mm? There is alway the question of 400 vs 600, after a long use of the marvellous 400mm 2.8, do you think that a 600 would more fit your usage ?

thank you! No, from my experience I have really loved the moments when I shoot at 400mm, and 560mm was too much. The best shots I have ever made are at 400mm. So in my opinion it's really good to have the opportunity to shoot at 400mm rather than not to have it. Not often that I wanted to go beyond 800mm, if so get a crop camera :)

@@TJPhotography Hi again, I've finally reached the small community of very lucky people owning a supertelephoto lens. I was lucky enough to find the RF 400mm second hand, perfect condition, and thanks to your feedback I took the plunge. I do not regret it, it is a fantastic lens, and lighter than the 600, therefore I'm able to handhold it, even all day long. For the reach, I've only invested in the RF 2x for small birds, because I find that the 1.4 does not bring much value in comparison to crop, and I get to stay at 2.8. I have to say that with my use, I barely see a difference with the 2X, I'm shocked by the combo, because you got the look of a 800 5.6 but with a MFD of 2.5m, therefore much more versatile, love it.
I will continue to watch your videos to get some inspiration, take care and keep going mate :)
