I like your British accent ! Especially when you said 'Are you attending the welcome drinks tonight ?', your accent was very attractive and a kind of funny to me and made me laugh !
Hi i`m from Domincan Republic ...God Bless you all especially to You State of the art Dear Teacher i love the way you talk and teach , you are amazing you are a Pro and a blessing definitely. Go Ahead.7
Jade, I think your videos should be a part of the learning process for all the classes lessons people do for getting a certificate. If the teachers just break off these “workbook” lessons that have to do only with grammar, grammar and grammar - something that the largest UK Universities promote (Cambridge, Oxford) - , and put in a projector YOUR videos, students would really LEARN ENGLISH as a live , spoken language. 15 years ago I managed to take two proficiency degrees in English, and , I lack in communication with native speakers, I lack knowledge of everyday - informal expressions, phrasal verbs, idoms etc, I lack British pronunciation. And that’s a shame, for the work I did , the time I spent, and mostly for the policy of UK’s large Universities that impose this way of learning… I won’t tell you “keep up the good work” because it would be too selfish from my part. You do something for free, (something that implies that you ‘re a great person, after all) so I can’t ask you for anything. Just IF you continue doing this, it’s a big pleasure for all of us that we ‘re trying to gain a closer contact with British English . A VERY BIG “THANK YOU !!!”!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video is may be not groundbreaking, but fairly instructive to me ! Nit-picker and can-do side by side commenting the conference are so creative (-:). Thank you so much
your lesson is very enlightening and helpful. I guess it's not difficult thing to run a conversation anymore after watching your videos. keep up the good works! btw your voice is really charming~
Hi this is vinayaka from India I like your videos coz it helps me learn something new everytime and you've got a very beautiful voice and I LOVE YOUR ACCENT. Now I hope I ll be able to talk like you coz I got a new tutor name Jade joddle from london. :)
It reminded me a few years ago somebody asked me, "How are you getting on...?" I pondered and said, "I get on a bus." ... lol I like the cute me years ago.
Hi Jade, I love your videos. It would be great if you could explain the difference between 'with regards to' and 'with regard to'. I have asked my colleagues - all native English speakers - and everyone seems to have their own theory.
Hello personaly for me is more understandable the British Accent than American accent, American Accent is more informal and British Accent is more sophisticated That's why I love British Accent, Greetings teacher from Mexico.
+John Ramirez She is from Mexico? I heard she is from England maybe. I'm not used to the British accent though , but it is helpful to understand the talking in those Britian-Union country ,like Australia .
I think I have been learning English eversince I was in school but I still can't manage to use it perfectly in a small talks like these. I really had a problem while talking directly to someone by using english, and probably typing is the easiest way for me to chat with somebody, because I can still correct whatever I need to correct. Sometimes even by typing I still feel hesitate whether it is correct or not, like literally right now. And I casually needed to check on it on google translate. Sometimes I even deleted all my types because of the hesitation. "Nothing stood out", I don't even know there was such a phrase like that. I would casually say like "nothing is interesting". And vocabularies.. Arghh... my brain.. It feels like I am a zombie who need more brains to suck up all those informations.. And when you said "we're gonna have some nibbles" at first I thought I heard "have some nipples???" and then I turned on the CC, oh and then I got it "nibbles". Another new word for me. Anyways, very informative and you are pretty as well, Jade.
+I am Bob I feel you. I have to check out everything I wrote and sometimes is hard to find the proper word to describe what I want to say, when it happens, I need to remove some words or even not typing due to my fear to write sth wrong. Most of the time I preferred to be corrected by others... nobody likes to be corrected but it's needed.
Lia Ying It is remove, and, "due to my fear" or "due to my worries" "I preferred to be corrected by other people" or "I love it when people were correcting me" or "I opted to be corrected by others" Yea, I know. So I keep inuring myself using English whether speaking or typing. Hence I started to vlogging using English, also watching other vloggers' video daily. It really helps somehow.
+I am Bob You are so serious in studing . That's really good. But I suggest you practice more oral English in the future learning. The Writing practice may improve your acdamic skill ,while to talk in English can really help you to grasp the language thoroughly. On the other hand, I think making mistake is fair enough . Afterall ,you are not native speaker (even the native English speaking people could make mistakes). Usually those mistakes would be remenberd very deeply ,and then you can get them unforgettably. I find those people who are outgoing and dare speak to others usually advance very quickly . Btw:" have some nipples "sounds funny :)
Eric An yea I do both oral and typing. I've started to vlogging in English about my daily activities. Well, able to speak English fluently has so many advantages in life, I think that's why I get this thing seriously.
While 'mediocre' may theoretically be synonymous, it is not basically just "a more academic word" for average. The word bears a negative connotation, and I wouldn't use it unless I do intend to sound dismissive towards something. The speaker here didn't convey that, though I'm sure she knew, judging by her facial expression when she says it.
hi jade, how are you,I always watch your videos because it is very useful and helpful,I have toefl test after 13 day and my level is B1 and I would like to know your advice about if I can pass this exam or is that impossible? please please
